Thx for the feedback @PureVapr. Sweet hydratube collection . Loving the EVO here too . I missed that EVO fire story last year, yikes !. Thx for the feedback on the boro/quartz nails, here's my research, experience and feedback on that subject. FWIW, boro and quartz glass have pretty much the same thermal conductivity so heat travels the same through both types of glass, https://www.makeitfrom.com/compare/Borosilicate-Glass/Fused-Silica-Fused-Quartz. The main difference between the two are that the thermal expansion of borosilicate is higher than quartz so boro nails tend to sit a little looser in the EVO when first inserted and thus they can take a little longer to heat up. The time to vapor may be ~2-4 seconds slower than with quartz but not much else will be different. Additionally, because of that slightly slower time to (and through) vaporization with concentrates, if anything boro glass helps users from ramping up temps too fast in the nail which can result in the loss of natural flavors and introduce toasty flavors.
No matter which type of VapeXnail is used (boro or quartz), people should be able to dial in the same overall concentrate experience by experimenting with and refining their method/technique. Most people are doing that subconsciously with whichever glass VapeXnail they have, and some people will be more detail-oriented than others . However, the method/technique should be slightly different between using boro and quartz nails. Most people won't realize these differences unless they are using both boro and quartz nails. So it's not surprising or unexpected to have different experiences using boro and quartz nails identically in the EVO. Trying to optimize the experience with both boro and quartz nails should result in slightly different times, temps or techniques between them, especially for those who are detail-oriented .
I've found that boro nails definitely don't do well with "sipping" in the EVO . Concentrates are by far best enjoyed by inhaling them in the first two draws (especially the first draw); and these draws should be ripped with minimal pause as after that it gets toasty. Additionally, no matter which type of nail is used in the EVO, after insertion into the unit it's best to begin to draw after observing visible wisps of vapor coming from the nail . I've been enjoying the flavors and experience from these techniques .
Anyone have more feedback or tips on techniques/methods? It's great to learn details and from other's experiences . Long live the EVO community.
