@ataxian - hello my friend. I have only been to Newport once or twice and it was many decades ago. There was a great resturant on the water (I think) called the Crab Cooker, maybe?

I see now its well inland in Sana Anna.

I'm pretty sure that in the 80's it was in Newport down by the water.

Do you know of this place. Food was frakin' wonderful...well, it is if you like fresh fish which I def do.

I too have fallen into the Visa hole with the popular glass website hydratube purchase mentioned back a few pages or so .

My last concentrate experience with the EVO posted on the weekend showed me a window into how potent concentrates can be... my face started going a little numb at one point .

From my parents house you can see the ocean.
Santa ANA is pretty far inland from here !

Same about Visa and popular glass. Went through DHg on the 11th. Arrived at a chinese sorting center 2 weeks ago. Hopefully....April....

I’m having a bout as well and I blame the evo.

DHGate is perpetuating it very badly.
Usually you spend the money get your glass and there is at least a temporary remission.
Nothing has arrived yet but my tax refund so.... there is no relief.

I need a variety of rigs AND hydratubes now. I’m telling myself it’s ok since I’m now using much less herb fucking combustion completely since the evo has arrived and feeling so much better because of it, which i owe completely to this thread and you fine freaky folks.

It's nice to see a fellow new owner enjoying the EVO a lot and posting here. Are you handling the ELB better yet? My flower usage has gone down with the EVO as well... and with less AVB toasting, plus the experiences/effects are even more impressive .

I had never used a WEMO to extend sessions, but someone on this board has. I think I'm lacking an app to do what I want.

Luckily, I had this $14 timer switch from Amazon that allows me to turn off my EVO every half hour for 2 seconds and then turn back on.

Enjoying the EVO again and did some Super Lemon Haze live resin. This session was awesome ; it was a long first draw with very strong lemony flavors (as good as I've had for flavors). Wonderful . The second draw had a touch of toastiness and I was happily done .

While the last session I had was a little different (in an earlier post), this time the session was pretty typical. And I can definitely get great flavors from concentrates with the EVO consistently now .

Speaking about methods and techniques with concentrates in the EVO, let me share some posts and info I found. I'm out at reading 746 pages (the size of this thread ), and it can be hard to use the search function to find subject info with common words, but I was able to finagle some results. Methods and techniques definitely matter, so I recommend everyone take the time to try things if their concentrate experience isn't as good as others describe. There's some good and detailed information in the links. It also shows there can be a number of variables to potentially consider. @macbill who's still posting today is in the links .

More EVO enjoyment here, it's so flexible while delivering the goods . I'm still trying new things with this vape and enjoyed some small bowls again. I started with ~1/5 of an ELB of quality Acapulco gold flower (see my pics here earlier ); it's good as ever with the EVO, even that small amount had great piney flavors at 11 o'clock on the dial (~320 F). After finishing the ELB at 1 o'clock on the dial (~380F), I had ~1/4 ELB of fresh Mango Haze flower . Strong piney flavors again and the EVO perfectly delivered with an excellent combination of great flavors. smooth vapor, full extraction and strong effects .

He provides a valuable service . That ELB loading tool or something similar is a must buy for most every EVO owner out there imo . It's great . I didn't even know about this product until I came across them for another custom vape tool. This thread is so big info gets buried so definitely keep sharing the good stuff .

That second session last night was some fresh Acapulco Gold flower . This batch reminds me in its fresh smell of how it's related to the Strawberry Cough strain; Acapulco Gold is definitely similar but with less fruity overtones and more piney scents. I live for sativas . It had a punch too .



Today I had some more fresh Acapulco Gold flower ... with the first few draws at 320F on the dial (11 o'clock position). Then I had low temp concentrates twice for the first time ever ; Super Lemon Haze live resin at 320F on the dial or so (~11 o'clock position). Small amounts each time which was great, with tons of lemon flavors on the first draw . I was able to get big first draws in both sessions with the Precision Honeycomb hydratube wet; and I was able to handle it without a coughing fit. I've really been able to dial in the experience on the EVO . The second draw was toasty enough to not bother with it much, and know that I'm done.

Then I finished that rest of that Acapulco Gold ELB at 380F on the dial (~1 o'clock position) with the wet Precision Honeycomb hydratube. Smoooth.

Then reloaded the ELB quickly again with the ELB tool; a small bit of Dragon's Breath strain . This batch has been the best balanced hybrid batch of cannabis flower I've ever had (~50/50 S/I) . Reminiscent of the Acapulco Gold in fresh smell ; Very nice flavors again with the Helio dry mouthpiece at 320F.

It's been a nice, smooth, uplifting and relaxing evening. Enjoy the EVO all !

Hi everyone I think I have noticed a circular crack in my bamboo, I have knocked my unit over awhile ago but just noticed this recently.its right underneath the joint where the ELB’s go. I can blow into the bamboo and plug it without air escaping, but when I plugged the bottom of the bamboo with my finger and went to draw from the hydratube the water rises a little bit. Does that mean there’s a crack/leak? I have noticed recently I get half as much vapor from the same herb as o used to/it doesn’t fully 100%milk anymore more like 60-70% and full baskets only last for 3-4 hits instead of 6+and the unit runs a lot hotter than normal.- the joint+air from vents burns my hands at 1:00. My question is do you think this is a result of a crack/is my Evo Ok to use for the time being while I wait for another? Thank you any help is greatly appreciated. Sending it in for repairs sadly is not a option.

Well, I can certainly understand wanting a backup (I have more than 1), It doesn't sound as if the crack has done anything yet: you say you cover the air intake and blow air into the bamboo, no air escapes. Personally, I'd keep using it until it quit functioning, since you're not interested in repairs-in-warranty. They won't repair out-of-warranty EVOs.

@Jtwpayne - I agree with @macbill. If you're really unsure try a reverse test as well. In other words ... try plugging the bottom and BLOW AIR INWARD and also try plugging the bottom an try to SUCK AIR OUTWARD. If both attempts are airtight I think you're good.

I tried both- no air seems to escape anywhere when I blow inward (I not sure where it would escape) but when I plugged the bottom and Inhaled with the hydratube the water rose a little bit- as if to start bubbling- it almost did, does that mean there’s a leak?

As long as you have made a solid seal, you should not be able to blow into the top without air coming out the bottom; there is nowhere else for the air to go. The reverse is true also, i.e., bottom plugged you should not be able to draw air up. A crack can be quite small, so the escaping air may be slight. Where you suspect the crack is located, is where that typically happens when it does. Note that it is conceivable that a small crack could be opened up by forcefully pulling/pushing air - the bamboo is rather thin glass. Also that there have been reports of being able to use the Evo despite there being a small crack, albeit with performance compromised. IIRC ~$75 for bamboo replacement.
