Just got my package. Have to say I'm a little less than thrilled, as I was expecting receive more than 2 ELB's with it considering their disposable nature - and one of them came squashed! I also didn't get any wrist bands, so I guess I'll need to figure out my own anti-burn solution. I also really wish that the bottom was low enough we could put rubber feet on it to stop it from sliding around... it's so light the smallest cord movement moves it.
I'm seriously considering judging the feasibility of transplanting the EVO into my old Cloud body, but I don't want to open the EVO just yet. Something tells me I'll be in there soon enough.
And this fucking whistle, ensures I'll never be able to use it when other people are home or at night, which is a problem considering that's when I use it most.
I'm hoping I start warming up to it, and that the vapor makes up for the issues. But right now I don't feel very satisfied with my purchase.
All key points we've kind of touched on as each IGG person gets their unit. VXL has said they are looking at the feedback so hopefully the next Rev will see some changes.
I'm a huge "whistle hater" but the DIY 'solution' was so quick and effective. I would agree in a future revision maybe there is something similar that just comes in the box. I also had a big long bit on the cord, but swapping that out made such an immediate difference...
I think many of us didn't get any VXL wristbands, that's the standard I believe, Evo + Glass + 2 ELBs and a cord.
There is sort of a "dogfeeding" methodology when looking at "what comes in the box". Like imagine someone gets the box, and all they have is medicine, whats in the box and the wall outlet in an empty room. Yes, they can successfully use the vape as intended. However what is that actual experience like?
Compare however to the traditional "what's in a box" that we see in the hard goods industry
Playstation 3 - HD console for multiple players ships with SD cables, only 1 controller and no games. I have like 4 PS2/PS3 SD/AV cables that are brand new never touched. Had to buy my own HDMI or Component cables...
Back in the 70s and 80s you'd get a toy at Xmas with no batteries included.
In 2013 we buy a cat toy for Xmas and it comes with batteries, cost only $10... but was made in china, and it breaks after 3 play sessions with the cat...
But yeah, I think those of us without the bands and who did not have a stock of ELBs were, at least I was feeling like I did when I got my PS3 only a little better. Like I wouldn't even hook my PS3 up without HD cables. But the EVO, I dove right in before I had the cotton/wristbands/new power cord...
