I got both and tried the glass insert without the amaze cooler and still not much better tbh. I think i just need to experiment and see if i can get it working. think i got good hits once with it but thats about it haha
On paper I thought this setup was going to be IT! I was left a little defeated. But there are ways to get the most out of it.

Large, chunky grind with a minimal pack if it's a little moist, a little tighter if it's drier. I found I needed to slow my draw down from how I usually used it. It changed too much of what I liked for the convenience and packed it away. I'll be pulling it out when my P80 arrives though

I thought the same, too. Pack some caps and throw them (gently) into my hardcase and away we go... but not so. Also, the stem developed some hairline splits in the ebony after the first heat. I put the noise down to my coils plinking as they heat up but it was a fair bit louder. Checked the end and two splits had formed. Doesn't compromise the seal of the stem at all though so definitely not that letting air in where it shouldn't.

I think i've been packing it too tightly as i'm used to doing with a basket screen in my adapter or long straight. I've got a Santa Cruz Shredder so medium fine and fluffy usually comes out and i tend to dry my stuff so it's tacky but not wet before cure and never usually have issues. I'll try breaking it up instead of grinding and see how we go. Failing that i can run some through my tiny Head Chef to get it super fine and pack it in a little tighter.

I initially thought it could be my coil resistance being too low and raised it to try and compensate but just ended up scorching the centre of the bowl and not vaporizing anything else. Dropped it back down to normal (about 0.185 for my coils, down from 0.193 original as they glowed at 185*c at the shipped value) and i'll give it another go.

Thanks so much for all the help guys, it's appreciated :D. And if it doesn't work, I've got a fancy stem to fit in the mouth piece on my sidecar matrix lol

Good luck @Grobalot you should be able to find the female to male adapter most anywhere in the EU too, eBay is where I'd try first for cheapest, then headshops?
Ta, I've found a couple of different bits I can try when payday rolls around so i'll see what happens. Going to play with some liquid silicone this weekend and see if i can mould a bit to make a cover for the bong end of the adapter.

Headshops in the UK aren't brill for little bits and bobs like this, so scientific glass is probably the best bet. I know a few different suppliers through work so i'll have to check the catalogues when i'm next on site.

and @shaolinmilk, you have reminded me that I need to pick some fresh batteries up. All mine are a good 3+ years old now and they get daily use so probably close to failing. A couple give me weak battery indication and i never deplete them back 30% anymore.

edit: sorry for the double post!!!!!! wasn't thinking at all

I recently acquired a couple of older TUBO devices, neither are 100% unfortunately.

The first (White) was supposed to be fully functional, but when I got it it seemed to not power up at all. Eventually I figured out that the heater works, but the display on the internal box mod has failed. The thing rips, but I have no idea what temps I'm set at and it's always a surprise when the battery dies.

The second (Black) had the heater screen mangled when I got it, plus reclaim all over the heater itself. I'm thinking the previous owner got careless trying to use wax and then mangled the screen trying to clean it off. When I turn it on, it smokes and smokes from all the reclaim on the heater.

So now I have to decide what to do with these.

I'm not even sure if it is possible to fix the display issue. I'm sure these are old enough that the evic mod is impossible to find. Maybe find a dead unit to scavenge parts from?

The heater one I know can be sent back for repair or upgrade, but I'd kind of like to take these apart and put together one good unit. Has anyone taken one of these apart?

send him an e-mail before you purchase the heater's repairment (better explaining the situation) : https://shop.lamart.ch/index.php?route=product/product&path=68_74&product_id=381

**Edit: firstable please check the comment below this one...

about your White Tubo, I'm not sure... MAYBE he can replace the Evic with a P80 mod -> by connecting the plus/minus cables from the Evic to some P80 mod (Evic no longer exist at his place AFAIK) but it will cost some money, probably worth it? and not sure it is possible, it is just an idea....

Are we sure the mod with the black screen isn't in stealth mode?

To switch between stealth and normal mode - switch off (5 clicks) > hold - and fire for 5 seconds > switch on again (5 clicks)
Yeah. I tried that. Even in stealth mode, the screen comes on at times. I confirmed this with the second tubo.

did you try to connect the evic to some pc, with micro-usb cable trying NFE-tools update to latest tubo firmware? i guess i'd do it if nothing else works... not sure it'll fix it, worthes the try

I did hook it up to my PC, it dings like any other USB device, but the display on the tubo remains dark.

I'm kind of scared to flash the sw. Right now it hits like a champ, but if it changes when I flash it, I may never get the performance back with no display.

So after being successful with the last p80 drop, I wanted to give my good ol tubo a last few hits before selling it.
Still hits like a champ, especially through water.
I've found a 18 to 14mm reducer with a 14mm stem works perfectly for microdosing and redcues the airflow just to my liking.

DHgate even has 14 mm male J hooks... Also glass screen shorty stem things...
Could you hit me up with a link? I've found only one so far, but I don't like the moutpiece of the 18mm variant soo much ... https://www.dhgate.com/product/2pcs...=564188295142244358#s1-0-1;searl|0161946285:1
thanks a lot
now just need to find 14mm basket screen
DDave doesn't ship to my country
if you have a link, please send... TIA!
May I ask where you're from? Shoot me a PN if you want, maybe we can work something out. I'm considering ordering some at underdog, they got the stem and screens also.

Thanks. As for your last question, I'm looking for both. A 14mm one for micro dosing and a 18mm one for normal use. Haven't found a neat 18mm one yet.

The best 18 mm one, is actually the one from Lamart, the colored ones, those can be found on DHgate too, more often in female but I think male as well, different colors maybe, I have a teal male from Lamart and amber female... DH has a lot but it's tedious to search and look takes forever lol

After 6 years of using various brands of 18650 batteries (my original set of 3 batteries still going strong btw), I’ve had my first battery failure on the paired set of P26a I run in my Dual. Gives an “Err” message on my Nitecore D4 when I try to charge one of them. Bought my P26a batteries in March and May of this year from 18650BatteryStore, was not expecting any of those to fail this soon. But hey, they are a disposable part of the hobby. A few toots on my Dual and I’ll forget all about it.

I'm not sure if this is the correct thread to ask but I'll try anyways.
What'd be a fair price to sell a tubo evic poplar wood/red evic? One of the earlier units when there wasn't even a shop if I remember correctly.
Condition and function is fine. I don't want to rip anyone off but also want to get the most out of it tbh. Comes with plug-in adapter.

it means that even if the mod will be gone in X time from now, the TUBO heater can work without any problems?
then it will be like 200$ or so, even a bit more IMHO, the desktop thing wasn't cheap too I know.. it all depends because remember, on one side it's rare AF and on the other side it's not a new heat-exchanger you know... but anyway in this case the desktop adapter raises the price ofc

I've seen several sell on entexchange for $250 - $350 in the last few months.

Yeah 300 could be reasonable depending on the accessories included, if you were talking about the plug-in AC adapter thing so you can run it without batteries, I know that thing in particular was very expensive and could push the price closer to 500 total even??!
