had this issue about a year ago. we went through troubleshooting and still no luck. arraigned to send it back to @funkyjunky and came back working perfect! think it was a flumped heater.
just can't work out how to get a good hit with a capsule in the capsule stem lol
edit: forgot to mention mine was 2 years old at the time and had hard daily use until it stopped working properly

Help my couple of year old tubo was doing some really wierd buggy stuff so I flashed the latest firmware to see if it fixed it now it's doing different wierd stuff & still being basically unusable, its stuck in power mode now & the vaping>modes>power option is stuck on A & won't change, despite all other fields on that screen freely changing from Y to N etc. Same with coils>manage>check, it's stuck on yes & won't change to no, which I know it should be on. Re-flashed firmare & same problem persists, doesn't look like older firmwares available to try going back anyone know what to do? Is there like some sort of hard reset? @funkyjunky ? Love my tubo dearly hope it's not on it's way out
Edit: Reading a few pages back my first main issue before the firmware flashing was experienced by someone else already - watts not getting above 0.9-1w, with temp number flailing around massively high, & no meanongful heat being generated, so could have a connection issue it seems is what might cause that, but that wouldn't explain the menu options being stuck would it?
I had the issue of the wattage not going above 1 and the temp reading all over the place with my P80, I ended up needing to send it back to lamart for him to repair.

Did you guys manage to find the root cause?

Manufacturer
its a contact issue. heater internal, solder points from board to the heater or posts getting lose/center pin not making good connection on tetraxes. unfortunately they all manifest in the same manner and are not specific so i need to test each unit with this problem and resolder/replace whats necessary.

all in all a very low percentage of devices that come back because of this which i am happy about of course

Finally started playing around my tubo evic and am quite impressed. Quick question: on the manual, it says three clicks for warm up mode. when I click three times, my ”tubo” flashes on the screen.

what is difference between warm up mode and cruise mode? Any danger in cruise mode from cold? If no danger in cruise mode from cold, don’t see purpose for warm up as they achieve the same thing?

3 clicks- warmup, 4 clicks-edit, right? so you probably clicked 4 times, tubo flashes means Edit mode.
warmup mode is needed for the glass heat soaking. each coil is placed inside a glass tube, once the glass tube is hot the total mass of the heater is bigger than just 3 coils.
you can use it from cold but raise the temperature to 220c or more, or just wait 5-10 seconds while cruising. have fun!

all i know is, i loved the thing loads and it worked every day without fail. the software works brill no matter what Ralph did to it and its a really impressive device. competes with desktops in a portable form and it works very well and very efficiently.
mine was well looked after but very heavily used. so i'm impressed it lasted so long. back to back high temp sessions that ran though 4 vtc6's and 4 30Q's one after the other without skipping a beat. got a little warm to say the least but it is an absolute beast.
the firmware tweaks where reliable and in terms of finding a perfect temp for any amount of relief needed and worked consistently.
super device from a really lovely guy. 10/10 would buy again given the opportunity

bin a roller-coaster this week lol.
decided to try something else in desperation to get my baby working again.
went and found the data cable for my VooPoo Platinum and flashed the eVic with the vctwo mini firmware so it would be as it was from factory(ish) and fired the coils. no glow, but the device recognised the resistance straight away so that was a good sign. proceeded to re-download the tubo firmware and flashed it. it worked without any silly "device not recognised" popup.
set the coil resistance to the same value as Ralph sent it out, set the 'Tubo Set' to 185 on M1, 2 and 3. Set 'Zero All' in the Manage menu and Check to No.
set the clicks back to the way i like them and set the date and time for my screen saver lol.
i think i may have flashed it previously with a faulty data cable and the update was corrupted. not certain but that's my hypothesis atleast.
fired it up and it worked! no wild temp fluctuations, responded to draw and kept the temp steady at 180*c with some home gown french lavender that's been 2 years cured and it worked a charm! no scorching, no hot spots. toasted to perfection.
giving it a proper try with some White Grape later on tonight. I wish i could show you guys the frost on it. My grow bro has done an amazing job with it.
Anyway, i wanted to post this so if anyone in the future struggles with the eVic for any reason or runs into similar issues after an update or just in general, i've found a solution that works at the moment.
anyway, Ralph's a don and his vapes are the tits and i'm a happy little chappy once again :D
hopefully it'll be working again for a good long while, but just in case, i've got @funkyjunky on standby if anything else goes wrong lol.
Hello and sorry to bother, I saw your post and its the closest I could find to someone installing tuvo on a voopoo, could you tell me how you did it? The Voopoo software only lets me use certain type of files and not .bin to update. Hope you or someone else help me, I got it to use it with a Stempod but the Stempod is no longer shipped to Chile, got a Tetrax and hope I can use the Voopo with it as the Reuleaux I bought is still in transit u.u. Thanks to anyone who can help me with their experience.

Quick questions regarding battery discharging when using the two battery option. Should the batteries work in tandem, meaning discharging happens at the same time and same rate for each battery? Or do they discharge separately, meaning one battery is depleted first and then the device utilizes power from the remaining battery? When I last took the batteries out of my Dual to charge, one was really low and took a while to charge, while the other was almost full and quickly charged. Both are Molicel P26A bought together recently. Thanks all.

They should be the same or close to it, the batteries should be kept as a pair, charged up together for the first time, always used together to discharge, yeah externally ideally too... Sometimes they can be a little apart, but they should not be more than .1 really, so yeah to answer your question in the mod they are discharged together, the mods are not perfect though and of course the batteries may not be either!

Thanks for the reply @Shit Snacks. There is a slight possibility that the one that was really low came from my P80 and it got mixed with my Dual batteries, and that might explain it. I will be more diligent in tracking it over the next day. Was shocked at how low one was and how long charging took compared to the other one. Will test and report back.

Yeah I tried to be pretty careful with mine from the old Zion testing days, keeping them in specific cases, or try marking them with something to keep track as well!

Anyone know how to use the set time / set date features in the p80/tetra evic settings? Cant get it to stick on mine so the clock is always set to noon.

@EddIW I don't think the P80 has a quartz crystal to keep the time like the eVic mini and Dual have, if i remember correctly.

Does anyone know if there are any better 18mm male to male adapters that are a bit longer than the older Lamart ones?
I got a Tall Matrix Sidecar from DHGate for my Tubo a little while ago and it works brill when i wrap the adapter side going into the bong with some paper, but the adapter sits too low in the bong for the Tubo to sit properly without packing it out.

edit: Also, how do i get the best performance out of my wooden capsule stem?? Got a beautiful Purple Acrylic and Ebony medium stem but i can't get hits anything like the Straight Glass Stem which is my go to. The capsule stem wasn't cheap and it's just sitting on my shelf not being used at all which is very disappointing.

Yeah so for those DHgate matrix pieces I would actually recommend getting a 18 female to male adapter, to instead heighten your female joint, since I know a lot of those matrix rigs have very recessed joints for some reason? Then you could use your existing WPA...

Alternatively you could get one custom made, maybe from Oregon glass blower, would not be so cheap though... You may be able to find someone else who can do a custom like this for you at a lower rate?

And yeah I would check the Tetra P80 thread and search for capsules, capsule, to see how the people that like those stems are using them... I'm honestly not such a fan myself, that is why I got a cheaper ash wood version to try.

Cheers for the input!! The only issue I have with with Oregon Glass is i'm in the UK, so shipping is a bit prohibitive. I was thinking of making a silicone wrap for the bottom of the adapter to do a better job than the paper i'm using at the moment and look for something similar in the UK or find a local blower and see how much it'd cost.

I've have a look at the P80 thread and not much really to go on. Some people like them and they work brill, others can't get on with them. I resigned myself to the fact the capsules would never really work for me in any capacity so joint pack the wooden stems and get very mixed results. Quite an expensive mistake but oh well. Once my next crop comes down i'll have enough to experiment with i suppose lol.

I have a wooden capsule stem and I think I know what you mean, the airflow is more restricted for you @Grobalot ? it requires a faster/stronger draw maybe..
A little, yeah. The capsule makes it more restrictive with the cap on, and not much better with it off. I've tried it with the glass inserts, both spiked glass and the amaze cooler (which is now in my long straight stem and works amazing!) and without them to unrestricted it a little.
I joint pack it as the recess isn't huge and i can dose around what i usually use, but all the hits tend to be really wispy at the same temps i get big 'ol hits from with my normal glass stem/braided whip or matrix pipe

Since you’ve already got the M-to-M, any chance this would take care of your problem?: https://oregonglassblower.com/18mm-Glass-Adapter-Insulator-18M-18F-18m-18f.htm
I think i'm going to try and find something similar, but a bit closer to home. But failing that, i've got some liquid silicon that i'm going to try and make a sleeve with for the time being until i can find a permanent solution.

But besides all that, getting the matrix bong was he best thing i ever did. Takes the Tubo to a whole new level! And hopefully in a few months time i'll be sending her off for the heater upgrade to get a few more years use out of it.

Thanks so much for the help guys. Really appreciated :D

did you try the glass insert without amaze? or you got the spiked one?
the glass insert without the amaze works better for opened airflow

I got both and tried the glass insert without the amaze cooler and still not much better tbh. I think i just need to experiment and see if i can get it working. think i got good hits once with it but thats about it haha

I noticed a lot of my batteries no longer get detected in the Tubo.

Maybe it's the charger (possibly fake) or some kind of loose connection?

Some batteries work and some others don't.

These batteries all work in a different battery mod.

How old are the batteries? I recommend grabbing some new Mollicell regardless ;)
