How would I know if the retailer I am purchasing from has the updated version of the walnut?

I am looking at purchasing from either planet of the vapes Canadian site or Toronto vaporizer. Toronto vaporizer has it for the cheapest price and I’m getting another 5% discount code. I just don’t want old inventory.

At this point, pretty much any 'new' product has to have the button updates, etc., etc., that were incorporated after initial release of TM2.

There just isn't 'New Old Stock' sitting on shelves, bc the manufacturer makes smaller runs of these (IOW, they make them by the hundreds / low thousands, versus, say, 500K run).

When the PH version came out, it was advertised as having all the v. 2.2 goodies. And that's been a couple of years ago (approx?) Couple that with tight inventory and Minimum Advertised Pricing (note sales only happen at predefined times, for very short periods)... and ANY new walnut you find from a major reseller (POTV, VG, etc.) should now be like its upgraded PH counterpart.

TL; DR: I would buy with confidence, as any *new* product should be the latest / greatest. That's been advertised for some time now, really.

PS: The enhancements, such as they were could probably be retrofitted to any existing (unshipped) product they had left in Finland. Because they were subcomponents. A couple of minutes with a Torx / screwdriver, and 'voila!' Updated version! Just hold the old stock until the new parts come in, then repackage & release to market.

What is it about TM users that they love to make up version designations? There was no 1.5, it was many tiny improvements along the way, same thing so far with the TM 2. There hasn't been an announcement about tm3 either AFAIK. A new colour version certainly isn't going to be the next revision, just an expansion of the current line up.

I don't think this is entirely true. One of the changes in the ph model was more robust ceramic rods within the heater assembly. I would assume they would need to finish selling the old heater assemblies before switching over to the new version as I imagine replacing just those rods is far from trivial. To me though it wouldn't make sense to have two distinct heater assemblies going forward. This is purely speculation though.

Well, people like to shorthand when possible when writing on sites like this. That's why I used '2.2', even though there isn't one. Most people here are familiar with the 'Tinymight Timeline'

But you know what? Imma get the trademark now for the black one: TM 2.2.Bk
(yes, technically, it's a line extension, vs a new model. But... *you can't stop me!* Bwaahaahaahaa! )

This is purely speculation though.

As were my thoughts. More from a 'career in business' standpoint, vs. "I work at <name of Finland company> " standpoint. Just a guess.

Yeah, I get that. However with the "1.5" there were several revisions all still being called "1.5" which then got really confusing when people were asking about details because it was never an official designation. Once that 1.5 ball was rolling there was no stopping it!

I do understand, I just don't like it! Lol. Sorry, I'll go back to being a miserable git lol.

it seems to be one of if not the most popular dhv no? with such honor it would be ideal to have easily designated lineage and as others just pointed out, concern of old inventory or tweaks could be controlled/designated/identified easier.. maybe... no?... too much of an ask? I know they are still a young growing company but just spit balling, certainly see some deficiencies in the details of their operation/growing pains are apparent.

I'd buy another / upgrade from the TM folks just based on the fact that they actually REPLY to e-mails, when sent. #KiddingNotKidding
That, plus you can see both on the inside / outside... no quality / material shortcuts.

And they originally issued a 10yr warranty on the thing. Not anymore (it's 3), but still... that shouts "quality" to a potential customer, IMO.

The 'deficiencies' probably run along the line of less real-world / demo / sustainability testing than optimal, so that the user base does some of that for them. But if you think that's uncommon (even concerning multinational software corps, for example)... it's not.

There was a learning curve for me, and I'd like a larger load size (w/o using the OEM stem). But I'd buy another at this point, as long as it's not just a wood color change. A piece of sandpaper, a brush, and a small can of wood stain can take care of that, easily.

I don’t know that I’d call cutting the warranty by 2/3 with no notice to existing customers “quality,” but whatever. I have 2 v2s, one upgraded from an OG, and I like them, but I don’t have the same devotion to it that many people do. I actually find it a bit off putting.

Im in process of buying one. Would love to hear your thoughts. My purchases are always educated and I take a very long time to pull the trigger.

i think he means it's off putting that what was a 10 yr warranty became a 3 yr.... i guess 3 is still good but yeah 10 is 333.3333% better then 3 numerically speaking, if they wanted they could venture into pay for extended warranty etc... that's were this eventually leads no? For such a simple well thought out product that is potentially a forever purchase you would figure they would want to tap into revenue that requires little overhead and or increased time for people... ie comes with a 3 year but for an extra $50 it's extended to 10 yadda yadda... just some thoughts as to ways to make all involved happy about their concerns

Can you briefly explain how TinyMight 2 is better than Davinci IQ3? I'm choosing between these two.

Not supposed to do comparisons in specific product threads, need to keep framed on the TM, so you can post in ask FC, or there are already posts there with these comparison questions if you can read them... Anyway, better is subjective, but they are almost exactly nothing alike (this is pure convection on demand, more artisan analog, DV is session conduction more automatic mass produced style etc from a big company)

If you skim backwards the past few pages you will see the discussion of the potential new model, there is no news or anything, it is TM2 and there have always been rolling upgrades... If you care about the changes, you can read back to see all the changes laid out from the last revisions

I don't know they're not that young anymore and it's still more grassroots, rolling upgrades are a common thing especially with Artisan units, and they often don't have serial numbers or anything
