I recall that being mentioned, and the polarity change, however I was able to use mine once without any issue I am pretty sure, at least if I am recalling correctly...
it works... I filed the base of the lid a little... to screw it in deeper without the battery damaging the motherboard

Which did you file, TM2 or TM? I’ve never tried and should I do it won’t be with a battery in the vape, that’s for sure. As @Shit Snacks noted above the polarity of the battery is changed too; OG Is positive down and TM2 is positive up. That’s not a significant change in the grand scheme of things but one worth knowing. I fried my OG’s board a couple years ago inserting the battery the wrong way accidentally - and I’ve not done it since (and I had the board replaced too).
Happy Thanksgiving to all. My T-break hiatus continues, begrudgingly, almost 6 weeks and counting. When I do break my fast it will be with one of my TMs - of course!
EDIT: my hiatus may end today, albeit temporarily and briefly. Yay.

He did it on the TM2 battery cap (the nub on the inside of the cap).
otherwise it could damage the board due to excess pressure from the battery when screwing in too much.But you have to keep placing the battery with the negative side up...Which did you file, TM2 or TM? First, I removed all the attachments: The mouthpiece, battery cover, battery, oven tool, and the ring around the air path.

This teardown shows it better than I can explain through text; the holes don't extend into the wood body. instead, the inner tube has a slight gap from the wood body, and this gap is what allows air to flow into the heating element at the bottom. the holes just go through the metal cap part on the top
There's a very slight chance the small speck of flower would get pulled into the heating element, but even if that happened, it wouldn't cause any harm beyond an off taste for a few hits

I assume it's mainly a matter of people not wanting to void their warranties. Plus, a woodworker would have to sacrifice a unit just to take measurements of the wood part, which probably holds most back.
My brain has always gone the opposite direction; I've always wondered why there aren't aftermarket resin bodies and such.
example of an ecig mod with the sort of resin body I'm talking about
I imagine with non-wood materials you'd have to use some kind of liner for the heating chamber to make sure your TM won't try to cosplay as a Melty... but imagining a TM2 with a blue swirled resin body like the link above is definitely piquing my interest, even though I know it would be way too expensive for me to justify

I went through the check out process without hitting complete order (to see how cheap you can get an tm this year) and it charged just under $20 for shipping. Not sure where it will originate from but I know it costs $20 direct from tm..
Edit: I would love to be wrong by the way. That would mean ordering direct would be a fantastic deal and better than others I have seen.
