I find it's difficult to understand the enthusiasm for this vap cause only the first 2 pulls are tasty and it drastically decrease in taste just after, very disappointed yet I changed the stem !

Still hoping/waiting for RED, i.e. Purplewood. My 3+ year old OG TM continues to rock - every single time! It’s my favorite vape. A flatter mouthpiece would be kinda cool but I’ve been mostly using the standard stock short stem for true portability and being on the go (with a rubber cap). Simplicity - and power and performance - at its best. I use a few 3rd party stems on occasion at home. :peace:
I agree. It’s also my favorite vape and I would love one in red!

I absolutely love my TM and it is my go-to portable. However it is correct that it extracts very quickly and efficiently. I think it tastes fantastic but it won't let you nurse a bowl.

If you want to draw out a session, I suggest temp stepping. I start at the bottom of the dial for my first hit and go up one whole step on each hit. It unlocks unique flavors at each temp and the session can last 3-5 hits.

Anyway, the tinymight is great but it is not a session vape. That's what I like about it.

What do you think is better?
Mighty, nomad, lotus, ghost are better for me

Thanks for the advice I will try to change the temp on each hit cause I stay always on 6.

Always better flavor on lower temp settings. I start just above 2, because I can’t turn in my TM below that, and temp step 1-2 settings at a time - which for me usually is the end of a load after a couple of sessions (maybe a third finishing @ 5). AVB is mild brown and I know it’s done for me. I generally find anything after 2-3 initial draws with any vape I have or used the flavor is mostly gone. Just my casual observation. What’s not casual is the TM is awesome, and flexible for lots of usage styles. Find your balance… :) :peace:

Yeah I don't even go up to six often, start as low as possible, eek up tiny bit by tiny bit for each hit, you can stretch the bowl and the flavors... Obviously better flavor without cooling unit too, pure glass pathway, like a hook with bends. I never take more than one hit at one sitting on my dial basically, and I only use the upper levels for one hitter quick extractions really... That should help at least

The lights on the bottom and the lights on the top are the same lights. If you don’t want to see it on the top, just block the holes on the stir stick.
Isn’t there a stealth mode on the TM2? I don’t have one and thought there was. If it comes in RED then I’d join the TM2 party (or heaven forbid my OG TM ever croaks I’d buy TM2 replacement ASAP in the dark brown wood). I can dream… :peace:

The stealth mode needs to be reset after each battery change, but if only the top light-in-you-eyes
is a problem, the tool can be replaced by a stem plug.

Yes, the cooling unit affects the flavour IMO. And I do not think I am fooling myself into believing something that is not there because the effect is very noticeable and others have told me the same, in person and in this forum.

After my message, someone commented about using an emptied half of the cooling unit with glass balls as a way to have good cooling while not affecting the flavour much. I have not tried it yet but I want to and see how it feels. You might want to try with that too.

Yeah, the all glass stem with the "glass mesh" to put the herb is great. I have that same one and I am waiting delivery of the new 14mm with "glass mesh" that TinyMight put out recently.

I do think the metal mesh affects the taste a bit and using and all glass path is better, but is a lot less noticeable than with the cooling unit. Only the metal mesh and then all glass gives you a really nice taste honestly.

Even using an all glass path, others have pointed out that reducing the glass path, as in a shorter path from the herb to you, just enough to cool, gives better flavour than a longer path. I have not experimented enough with this because I am still building my glass collection, but you might want to if, like me, you seem to care about the taste. Shape of the glass might influence too.

Also, for the ones thinking that we care too much about taste, I want to point out that different taste means different chemical composition, even if just slightly, and that can potentially affect the high. I understand this is a bit speculative and hard to test, but it makes sense. It is not just being snobbish.

With a cleaner path, that gives "better" flavour, you are getting a more accurate load of what the herb can give. With a more obstructed or metallic paths, with "worse" flavour, you are leaving some compounds or changing the composition, even if slightly. Plus, in general we have evolved to find "better" taste for the things that are better for us. Just like we can taste fresh and rotten food as good and bad tasting, same is likely with the taste of the vapour.

Again, I'll admit it is hard to test. I just really enjoy a good natural flavour while vaping, makes the whole thing a lot more pleasurable and relaxing. I believe that is my brain telling me that's better. But I understand others will not care as much.
TM2 signature is my favourite high of all time. It's also my tastiest vape so far. I'm of the belief that terpenes are actually incredibly powerful in contributing and shaping the high. We primarily just see them as cosmetic. There for the aromatic and taste benefits. I feel this perception will change as we learn more about them.

In short I agree. Better flavour, better high.

Exactly. It is clear that there is something else to the high than THC and CBD.

Otherwise plants or extracts with the same amounts of those compounds would give the same high, but some plants give different kinds of high despite having the same amount. And it is not only stronger or weaker highs, it is about the type of highs, more or less pleasurable and more.

Nobody knows why, I agree with you that terpenes are a good candidate, maybe with something else. These substances might modulate how the body processes THC and CBD, maybe they add to the high. But whatever it is, it is clear that there is something else, that we still do not understand scientifically. So it is highly probable that, as you say, better flavour better high.

I used to get anxiety attacks with a lot of street strains for a while here in the UK. I did some searching online for answers why, as it wasn't happening previously. I found advice to sniff black pepper essential oil while smoking/vaping. Seemed to help. I imagine it's because of terpine's in the oil.

During this period I also went to Amsterdam for 10 days and smoked more than Snoop dog, with not a hint of anxiety. I bet it's because I gravitated towards my known strains that I knew worked with me.

So yeah not only do they change the high, and massively differentiate strains. But they can even be a big variable in negative psychological reactions.

I've had this happen to me too with some cheap strains. I've had some that make my hands shaky. The black pepper is a good trick, I should try it. Wonder if mixing black pepper directly and vaping it has a similar effect.

This also ties with another thread in the forum of people experimenting with vaping other kind of herbs. It is in my TODO list to try some of the recommendations they gave, which they say have a lot milder effects than weed, and the though of combining those herbs with weed to see how the high is affected had crossed my mind. Now I'm even more curious.

Good points. I'll try blocking the holes and if not I'll get a different tool. What is a stem plug?

Could you give the link of this thread please ?

It’s the little white cap in @gangababa ’s pic. They come in different sizes. I bought one (on eBay I think but it’s been discussed herein before) for the stem hole should I travel with it in a case. I also religiously use rubber caps for the stock stems also from eBay (I think but you can find them anywhere). Helps a bit with any residual smell too.

Interesting all your reports thanks guys I will try with low temps.
I frequently strive to get six hits because I share with my partner and we have been three hits each since we first met almost 30 years ago. We’ve found that staying under 3 for all hits, except maybe the very last one works and tastes great. Since I go 2nd, I’ll maybe sometimes turn it up to 6 for a clean up hit #6 (my third) after a stir, but mostly we just sit between 2.5 and 3 the whole time and we get shit tons of effects this way so extraction is solid.

...
As @Vaporific said, the small plug white plug in the picture. It is one of two such plugs I received with the TM mini bubbler and long cooling stem.
When cleaning these stems the plug can be used to block the mouthpiece and then the bowl end is blocked with a cap as @Vaporific shows, after the stems are filled with alcohol, and shaken to clean.

Call me crazy but I like using the on demand mode for sessions, I’ve been employing the cigar puff technique. Can spend like an hour finishing a bowl outside at my leisure… but after every cooldown it does take a lot of air to get it going again after a reheat... it can be a session vape for enthusiasts like us but kinda hard for the casual user

It is very likely that using a convection vape like the TM, evaporation of the terps should drive faster evaporation of the cannabinoids, because the terps have higher vapor pressure and if mixed with thc and cbd should increase their rate of evaporation. So…more flavor should correlate with greater extraction of cannabinoids.

We were also referring to on-demand mode, not session mode, just calling the act of using on demand to finish a bowl itself a little session... The name session mode is more of a misnomer, it is an auto fire really
