If--for sake of argument--a TM2 PH was on it's way to me and I had some credit at PotV to burn, what accessories would you all suggest to round out the experience?

Is the "official" 14mm WPA a must have? Or is there a compelling WPA alternative?

Are the J Hooks something to consider? Sneaky Pete's has a J Hook with beads (thoughts)?

What else?

Thanks in advance.

Bill

Just took a look at their offerings, if it’s a POTV credit to burn there aren’t a lot of options. WPA is always handy to have, as you allude they can be used on dry pipes (y/u/etc) as well. The molicel P28A they sell is a great cell (pun not intended), but it’s listed at 3x what you can get it for elsewhere…if you’re just trying to burn the credit they would be a good target, but not great value.

I don't wish to limit accessories to PotV offerings. I do have some credits to burn there, but...

This is a nice WPA that can hold much more herb than the standard and can be used similar to a ball vape. Just keep in mind shipping from smoke6 does take 7-10 days.

On your suggestion, I just ordered one.

In about a half-hour I should be able to claim a TM2 PH at my local post office.

Fingers crossed.

And? Is it in your hands already? :smug:
You are in for a treat!
The best tip might be this:
start really low on the dial (note that it has to be on two or higher for the device to start up, that's to keep it locked for unintentionally turning it on. But once it's on you can dial it down as much as you want).
I often start as low as 0 for the first hit and gradually work my way up every hit.
You'll go from Terp Town to Cloud City all in one bowl!!

Whatever you do: Enjoy!! It's a great vape! And the PH is really pretty so don't forget to share a picture!

I just got back from the post office. I have not sparked it up yet, but here is a sneak peek:

I will play with low temp.

Confirming: Put it on "2" to get started (does one need to leave it on 2 for some time?) and then more or less turning it down to as low as zero.

What a beauty!

Bill

ETA: The unit is charging. Then I will bake it off. Then I will bake myself off. LOL

No, no need to leave it on 2. Just do the three clicks and as soon as it vibrates and starts blinking you can use the dial freely.
So yeah: i start really low and go up tiny bits every hit, something like 1-1.25-1.5-1.75-... till it's cashed.
Long steady inhales do the trick

Does it have the glass beaded stems with the glass mouthpieces included?
Before i recieved those i always used the stock cooling unit with a long glass stem but since i got the PH with the glass beaded stems i changed my stem setup:

I use the second from the right the most but the one on it's left is what is included and is practically the same as the one i use (i just prefer the ditanium mouthpiece and the cooling unit as bottom screen)
Anyway: both these deliver pretty smooth vapor imo.
There's loads of aftermarket stems and hooks and whatsoever so you'll probably expand but for now that stem is pretty decent (in my opinion anyway)

What a beauty!

It really is!!
A gorgeous little beast, that's what it is!

The TM2 PH did arrive with the extra glass beaded stem (second from the left in your photo).

I appreciate all the tips! I'm sure you can imagine my anticipation. This will be next-level vaping for this old man (assuming I live long enough for this vape to charge). LOL

I want to chase those beautiful terpy low-temp clouds of my dreams.

Meanwhile...I wait.

Ooh yes: another essential tip is to get a handfull of Molicel P28's and an external charger...
Nothing worse than waiting for a vape to charge... :nope:

I'm already realizing that waiting on batteries is not a tolerable situation. LOL

The durn thing is still open red.

I saw mention of a recent successor to the P28s (that are perhaps a bit dear still), is it P35B (I'm not sure). Know anything about those?

I think it's the P30B but that's about all i know about them. I think i asked once in this thread but afaik there was little to no respons.
Also pretty expensive for now and read posts from one or two people trying them and saying the difference wasn't worth the difference in price (yet?) so for now i'm happily using the P28 but who knows what the future may bring...
I do feel like the P28 is one of the more popular batteries amongst TM2 users but maybe i'm biased?

Maybe you should clean your stems and the cooling unit first. Would hate for your maiden voyage to taste like machining oils. Soapy water and hot water rinse is good enough for the all glass stems (dried with a hairdryer). I’d soak the CU in iso though.
Another essential tip indeed...
Good call!

These sound to me like excellent suggestions.

I'm off to do just that.

Much obliged.

I know less than you, trust me.

The P28s do seem like the forum favorites, and the members of this forum seem to be pretty well-informed (if you leave me out of the equation) LOL

These are the same battery type as the Ispire Wand, correct? Be nice to swap across devices if necessary.

@Spy Car, if you didn’t already, then you should look into a good external charger. Always good to have freshly charged batteries on hand. I use a nitecore, but there are other reputable brands.

I ordered a charger. A Nitecore SC4.

Will need to find batteries (from a legit source).

Stems are clean.

Perhaps I'll do some vacuuming? LOL

Is the "official" 14mm WPA a must have? Or is there a compelling WPA alternative?

No, the official any of them with glass screen is bad imo You just want a plain tube that will fit a basket screen, like the ones available from the rogue wax works (more 18 than 14 probably but I think vgoodiez might offer both as well) hookahhead md also makes some good options for that in all sizes actually...

Are the J Hooks something to consider? Sneaky Pete's has a J Hook with beads (thoughts)?

You can get basic hooks from a lot of places like the above, and more elaborate designs, that cost more and are better etc, cheap ones from China that can be impressive etc... Do not buy that one from SP with all the beads, those are some shitty mystery glass and the beads have holes through them, they are also too small for cooling well, a lot of air flow restriction and will get dirty quickly, just all around a bad idea

Confirming: Put it on "2" to get started (does one need to leave it on 2 for some time?) and then more or less turning it down to as low as zero.

Below two it is protected, that is the power switch essentially, once you turn it on, you can then lower it even level one as low as possible, as HB said, I also start very low and take a hit, then turn the dial tiny tiny bit, for each hit, to milk low temp vapor... The dial gives you a full range completely with your full control

ETA: The unit is charging. Then I will bake it off. Then I will bake myself off. LOL

Yes you will need spare batteries and external charger, I don't know how quick it charges in the device, literally never tried... However yes you will want to do a thorough cleaning of the inside components, hopefully they are doing a lot more cleaning now with these latest units when they ship, but many of us discovered some factory machining oils on the various metal parts that you can remove and clean carefully with iso and as needed qtip

Will need to find batteries (from a legit source).

While I have by no means mastered device settings on the TM@ PH, it is certainly providing the desired effects!

Everything is suddenly very groovy.

The TM2 PH and I are going to get along very very well.

I thanks to my new friends and enablers for all the kindness and wisdom.

Damn. Just one shesh and --what do the kid's say?--I'm well-medicated

SEARCH for the treasure...
I don't know how quick it charges in the device, literally never tried...

Using a USB meter, the charge rate is over 2 amps, which is fine for a good Molicel 18650.
BUT, as there is NO air ventilation when charging in the TM2, the battery can get pretty hot, so I always use an external battery charger. If I had to, I’d charge in the device, but prefer not to.
Heat is one enemy of a battery…

I had "high" expectations from what the TM2 PH might deliver. I've read the "reviews" here.

I expected the device to deliver.

Instead, it has over-delivered. It is like the best thing I can imagine.

With one not insignificant niggle.

I can already see that my daily setting will be be zero.

If the device had the capability, I would be exploring the sub-zero range.

Why such limits on the low end?

Niggle-aside, what a marvelous vape (even in the hands of a first time user).

Fucking fantastic!!!

Bill

ETA: I have batteries @Shit Snacks and a charger enroute.

My TM 2 won't be a virgin, but a charger should be here by 8 am tomorrow my time.

And no more of that, I promise.

ETA 2: Seems like my wish is a reality and the TM2 can be re-calibrated (turned up or down).

Look into recalibration. You should be able to go down, as well as up. 👍

Is that a factory/vendor return, or an easy DIY fix?

I have no reason to believe that this unit is mis-calibrated--I'm rather certain that isn't the case--but if it were possible to recalibrate the unit to give me more low end, I'm fairly certain I'd do that.

Perhaps they should bring out a TM2 PH SUB-ZERO Edition?

It's a factory utility that allows you to raise or lower the calibration from the default position. In other words, lower the calibration and you'll get more resolution for the lower temps on the dial. There are investigations in the manual (I believe) and also in the thread of you need them.
