Is that the purpose of that mod? I have been wondering what it was...

I can speak too what @dzoinp purpose is but I can say this it essentially eliminated all scorching and provides even top of bowl browning, slightly at the cost of performance similar to the doseing capsules but no where near as pronounced.

Edit the Bowle comparison is a big compliment

Yes I believe so, along with potentially packing the herb down a little, and keeping heaters extra protected with extra screen as bonus? I agree with you that this was a problem that doesn't exist for me so this mod to me is totally neutral unnecessary, though many people sure seem to love it!

I just grabbed the below, to try something different than the stock setup for my TM on the go (ordered the rubies for tetra male J hook last week they just arrived and work fantastically so I am glad I can get more now since I forgot about the ditanium mp before)

I think one of the differences between our usage style is at least with @Shit Snacks who I know to be a avid temp stepper is perhaps you don't push your avb as far as I do. I'm also a big hitter going at least 30-45 seconds for a hit and my preference is to load only so much as I can crush in one hit at a high temp for the strongest effects. Yes a bigger load and the dead zone in the middle does eventually get extracted with multiple hits and things are more even if you temp step as well so how you use your tinymight plays a big role. What I like about the @dzoinp mod is I don't have to change my usage the mod changes how the tinymight works.

LoL yes but my load size is .05, so it's about as impressive as saying I can eat a bag of chips in under a minute and you pull out one of those fun size bags

How do you guys pack your stems (yes I cross posted in reddit r/tinymight2)? Mainly interested in the gap between herb and heater. I imagine if too close to the heater you're more likely to get hot spots?

I did the @dzoinp mod with an RBT basket screen so that's my spacing from the flower. The space, combined with the disruption of laminar air flow caused by the screen, evens out the heating so there's no longer a ring. I thought I was still getting somewhat of a ring at max temp but I confirmed that I do not after a bowl this morning. Thinking I had the temp at 4 not 10 I took a fat rip and then another lol. I had a darker circle on the top but it was solid and after a stir and a third rip I killed my deeper than usual bowl pack.

Makes sense. My curiosity is again piqued to re-attempt the @dzoinp heater screen mod, someday soon. Only then will I become a Tinymight master. May the buzz be with you.

@RustyOldNail heres a small dog hit of a little less than .05 at temperature 7 , clean hit, all vapour and 0 dark rings thanks to the mod ..... well that might not be completely accurate the dark ring comes a little after 30 seconds or when the vapour really thins out, if I don’t release the fire button then I would get a very dark ring if I continued to hit until vapour stopped at around 45 seconds with a .05 load, so somewhere between 30 and 45 seconds it chars..... bad term I never liked saying that because it’s not burnt and there’s no ash. But I don’t get anything with the mod but I get all the vapour and I’ve hit the fire button longer than 30 seconds with the mod, it’s difficult to say if I really get more vapour being able to hit longer...... probably minimum at most but when you are a micro doser a .01 difference change the experience.

I should say that those strong one hitters are becoming something of a thing of the past and I've been temp stepping a lot of the time recently, though I still take the same length hits just the density and temperature of that vapour have changed and I'm finding I'm preferring the flavour and effects of temp stepping. My session is still pretty brief going 3 big hits starting at 3 going to 5 and finishing at 7 but it's also nice to be able to take those quick one hitters and be on my way and the best thing is this vape easily does both, so versatile!

More or less the same for me. Maybe an extra draw though (2.5 - 3.5 - 4.5 - 5.5). I don't go beyond 6 with my TM, got some black AVB that high.

Sometimes I really get into the swing of temp stepping starting at two and stepping by one or less up to 5-5.5, taking smaller hits, even though I can still go higher if I try there's no vapour left....... especially if I stirred at all during my session. If you want to play around with your higher temperature settings I've found the best way is to use a wpa and a water pipe that has a clear view of the can, set your tinymight to 10 and hit it only so long with the fire button until you get very thin vapour in the bong, let go of the button and continue to hit, the vapour will get thicker and thicker before stopping. Shouldn't get any burning that way, usually takes around 2-3 hits that way to finish, effects are quite strong and flavour isn't bad.

As long as you sit somewhere, it's easy to repack. But I wouldn't touch the bowl just after a few draws.

If you blew the AVB out and then had a small container to straw suck some more up it wouldn't be too bad. The residual heat is going to depend on your temp level used, draw strength/duration and ambient temperature. Worst case scenario you remove the stem from the device and give it a minute to cool down. Glass cools fairly quickly.

I use mine mostly at home, and I have a couple adapter stems that I swap between if one gets too warm. If the device gets too warm (it does get warm from a few stems one after another) I now have a second one to swap in if I am concerned. I don't like to allow too much heat on my battery.
Before I got the second one I would pull out a VC or other vape for a couple hits while the TM cooled.

Also no reason to worry, if you are being efficient with your heat and properly clearing your hits, drawing after letting go of the button, then conduction is not stealing any goodness from you, it is only adding it for you as part of your vapor experience

I never stick a hot stem into my Chico of ground herb unless I am going to hit it now for that reason.
