I feel the most important thing I can do is to live up to that verbal conceptualization, as a true reward to you loyal pioneers. What you'll be rewarded with is the unparalleled taste, control, and performance that's never existed in an all wood hand held portable. Both heavy *recreational*, as well as medical users, will find it life changing. This is a pretty bold prediction, but I can't really see a bad review. The board combined with the coil is going to explode the vaping world. This is not just a little improvement, but an overwhelming upgrade. I've tried many vapes, build a few, nothing ever like this. Of course the closest thing is Alan's iH, but the all wood body and the Evolv board take things to another level I didn't think existed. Cool, tasty, high volume vapor in 3 seconds, every time.

Always something to buy. Just about every day I order something. I needed magnets, and while both size magnets work equally well (1/4 x 1/8 on both, 3/16 x 3/16 & 3/16 x 1/8), the smaller diameter is much nicer to work with. For whatever reason, a 3/16 drill bit makes a nice tight hole while a 1/4 bit is not tight, and requires some clamping. So just ordered a couple of hundred 3/16 magnets. The price of wire went up, almost doubled from when I first started. At least magnets have stayed steady. I have a deep inventory of all my screws, washers, nuts, and battery terminals as well. Today I put together another bit holder, just wanting to house the drill bits I use on every build, in addition to the 3 or 4 router bits. Keeping up with bits is a major part of the expense of building.

I've fallen in love with simple wattage control. My favorite wattage is 27.5, which allows me to literally milk a bowl. What I'm amazed at is how cool and smooth, yet thick and tasty, each hit is. Like I've said before, with just pure watts control, you have to pay attention to the hit, but at 27.5 watts the rise in temp is gradual, and very easy to adjust to. I will bump up at the very end to *clean things out* with a single stir. This routine keeps the unit so cool.

This allows me to securely hold the unit with 3 or 4 fingers, and use my thumb to adjust and / or fire. What makes it even nicer are @Alan 's custom wood buttons that sit proud of the cover plate a hair more than stock buttons, so easy to work. The custom buttons are truly the icing on the cake, and I'll have a couple of dozen sets soon!!!
I'm just about through with my February batch of Classics. Once that ships, it's all Elite for at least 3 weeks. I'm going to ship Elites in smaller batches, probably six. I'd like to get six done and sent out with the February Classic batch. The rest of the pre-orders won't be too far behind. I'm trying to stay as organized and as ready as possible to field, what Alan and I both feel, will be a huge demand. The Elite, like I've said before, is like building 2 vapes.

Here it is, the first Elite video. I had no outline or script, just wanted to do a session on camera and explain some stuff. Lots more to explain and talk about in future videos / pics, but at least you get a peek. I continue to hit on that same load at 28.5 watts for 5 more hits, and then 30 watts for another few.

I took a peek at what was in there, saw some green and lazily just hit the trigger to smooth, thick vapor with the battery at 8%. I am going to test Eli's ability to rip through a whole nug with no grind. I think as long as we can keep airflow even, it'll work.
So where does the extra power come from? The answer is in the perfect management of existing energy. Basically, you can now fly much closer to the sun without getting burned, simply by capping this, boosting that, in a digitally choreographed vaping dance.

The Elite is unparalleled in its practicality. Complex in design, yet simple in execution, the *modulation* of the Elite, or separating the unit into modular parts that can be assembled, was the only way I could handle this very complex project. The big question then became, "How would the board handle a 3-D ss coil, in an all wood mod box?" I don't think anyone was expecting it to do this well, at least not me. I am so glad I listened to @Alan, and went full steam ahead with Evolv's board. We are gonna make some happy people, and satisfy lots of VAS.

Gone are the days of vaping with antiquated 510 attachments, looking like we're all pitching tents trying to carry our gear around in our pockets. We welcome the wooden square (er... rectangle?) with open arms, and our lungs pine for the sweet, pure convection vapor. Our terps will grace our tongues - full-bodied in all their glory, no longer hampered by ceramic heaters... or piece of lint screwing up your 510 connector.
No more glass to break, no glues to inhale. Wax the decks and sturdy your bowels folks, because we are sailing the high seas and sipping nothing but delicious vapor while watching a 24-hour sunset.

I finally love building this unit. What was once a frustration is now a creative outlet. The Elite calls for much more tight tolerance work. I even thought I'd need a CNC machine, but the x / y axis drill press vice, 3 dedicated routers and jigs, as well as a simple table saw sled, has allowed me to achieve an extraordinarily high level of accuracy, without too much fussing. Once frustration was eliminated from the process, it became fun.
I've also gotten really good at hand sanding / shaping / filing wood. If you saw my file collection you'd laugh. It can be difficult to buy a single file, most often they come in sets of 10 or so. I must've purchased 6 or 7 different sets of small files, diamond files, and rasps, in every shape and dimension. All in all, must be close to 100, and I probably use 10 or 12 most often. The less I can chisel (chisel knife), the better. If my work with the router is good, filing is minimized.
So, good news! Alan's package of buttons and mesh for coils has arrived, even on this holiday weekend, priority mail got it here in two days. I'm ready, having formed another sixteen perfect cover plates. With this batch of cover plates hand selected the piece of cherry that I wanted to use. It has the perfect grain pattern to maximize strength and minimize edge roughness.
I would like to pre mount the board to the cover plate with buttons and screen totally functional, and never disassemble. Unfortunately, I have to wait until after pre-assembly of the unit, where the cover plate gets final fit and mounted. Then I can disassemble the cover plate from the unit and attach it to the board. Now the cover plate / board / buttons / screen / which is already fit and mounting holes tapped, can be final assembled.

Awesome ! Having carried my LB loose in my cargo pants style shorts most of last summer (when not using my carry case ) , I usually kept the roasting tube in another pocket so they wouldn't bounce around together in the same pocket. having a pouch would solve that and also keep smell (which is already minimal with LB) on the low . It would help keep pocket lint and other debris from entering roasting tube / bowl insert too all while protecting DNA board screen .
Nice vid by the way! Elite is looking fabulous both in functionality and performance. as I expected when combining power control (temp/watts, volts in logs) with a proper heating source such as iH/LB. Happy You and Alan figured out how to make it all happen so efficiently in such a portable package.
Glad to hear the buttons arrived already and you didn't have to wait until tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing lots of Elite units making lots of happy people.
I have been making vaporizers for about 8 years now and know a great vaporizer when I see it. The Lil' Bud Elite is a really great vaporizer. It has everything I look for in a vaporizer. I'm glad @Bravesst did listen to my ideas and has the skills to make the Elite. Looking forward to future collaborations.

So before diving into my shiny new buttons, I need to completely nail down the process of pre and final assembly as it relates to the cover plate. Turns out, it's a seven step process.
- Board assembly (wires soldered, screen attached)
- Cover plate creation (bit big)
- Fit unassembled cover plate to unit
- Drill, tap, screw cover plate to unit
- Fit, sand, finish entire unit with beeswax
- Connect assembled board to cover plate
- Install cover plate during final assembly

Sorry been wrapped up with the iheat this week. After 4 months it's awesome have it back in rotation. Was thinking of something that might be worth looking into on the elite.
One of the things DNAc chips need is the mod resistance to be set for proper temperature control. Most manufactures supply this info and it varies by brand. On the DNA chip you could do a test to determine that value. On the DNAc chip that's no longer an option. The higher temperature you mentioned earlier leads me to think that is might be an area to look into.
If you go under mod electrical tab there's a setting for mod resistance. I think stock DNAc75 is 0.004 Higher is hotter maybe try 0.005 see if brings temperature readout a little closer to correct temperature range.

The last thing I need right now is any struggle to get medicated. A nice slow, full draw, on an 18 mm unlined short tube, is my fast track to getting blitzed quick.
I love, love, love the action of the fire button. It doesn't take much pressure, but there is definitely a click on, click off point that's firm. Alan's wood buttons are the perfect extension of the actual board buttons, while being luxurious and functional. They sit about .5mm proud of the cover plate, and are captured perfectly between cover plate and board. You can feel the accuracy here. I'm so glad I went with the custom Elite cover plate and buttons - all hand made vs 3D printed.
The pairing of handcrafted wood with state of the art technology is so cool to use. I look down and I see the perfect vaping screen, with everything I need to know or do, a click or two away. Very pretty. I am literally so jazzed to get this to you, but now is not the time to rush. I'll have lots of shop time over the next two weeks.

Especially with the board inside the Vaporizer coming straight from the builder who can perhaps preset it prior shipping . It will basically be press and go. If not preset. Well if PAM can , you all can !

I have a couple of appts this morning, and then my calendar is wide open. I'm going to split my time between Elite and Classic building. Right now, I'm bringing about half dozen (maybe more) Elites to pre-assembly (cover plate attached, no board). I'll then pre-finish all my Classics and Elites. Then it's just a matter of assembly. I will need to form some coils in the middle of all this as well. Always lots and lots to do, but some Elites will be built this week, and I'm really excited to get it out there.
Koa units are possible, but not Koa caps or cover plates. The interlocking grain is too difficult to shape into precisely machined parts. Right now, hand selected Cherry boards, with just the right grain pattern, gives me the most accurate cover plate. All cover plates, will be Cherry, at least for the first couple of batches. I've had too much frustration with even Maple not behaving, Cherry grain, when hand selected, can handle all the routing, drilling, filing, and finishing.
Production is in full swing. Here's a peek at five pre-assembled Elites from batch one in pre-assembly. Next step, more finishing, then beeswax. Then I take apart, assemble cover plate with board / screen / buttons and prepare for, dare I say it, final assembly.

Gonna be a good day in the shop today. Been loading a bit closer, setting the screen about 1/8 inch from the tip. Whether the tip is recessed, or not, @Alan 's screens are firm enough to hold their shape, and stay put. I was experimenting (still loving surfing watts) with getting the load closer to the tip. I got my best results with the load about 1/8", maybe 5/32" from the tip. I just loaded about .1, and set watts on 26 for the first couple of hits. The musky thickness of the pure convection is so thick, without much cloudage. I have to say, the further you get from combustion, the less you are concerned with clouds. There is no need for a visual, and size and power of each inhalation is rather intense. After 3 or 4 hits, the ABV is barely darkened.
This approach is a bit tougher on the battery, but batteries are cheap and rechargeable, while weed is not. I can get a small load to last and last, the lower the wattage I start at. The battery doesn't care about how many *loads*, it's only affected by number of hits. I can live with that. Still getting 4 mega - micro sessions per battery, and it's about 2 years old.
All Elites are sold bare bones, with tubes, batts reasonably priced as add ons. Of course you can buy tubes directly from Alan and batteries many places. The coupon code *ELITIST* will save you $30 on every Elite purchased, and is available to all FC members. Be sure to include your FC handle.

Yes battery life is a whole new ballgame with the DNA controlling things. I have some custom battery CVS files that also help a bit more with battery management. The battery charger in the DNA chips is customizable so can decide on how low you want battery level to discharge the recharge rate etc.
gOOd afternoon my loyal Elitists. Batch one of 2019 is happening fast. It'll include half Classic / half Elite. I just applied beeswax to another 14 units, and damn do they look sweet. The cross grained bottom cap is a winner idea, and works well in Cherry, Walnut, and Maple. I'll assemble one of each until the batch is complete. Gauging by how much time I'll have in the shop, and how many units I can assemble in a day, I'm pretty confident in a February ship date. I've already got the several boards wired up and tested, waiting to be paired with a cover plate. At this point, assembly is actually easier than the Classic, because of the removable bottom cap and pre wired board. All soldering is already done.
While I was at it, I gave my DD a bit of a buff up - so purdy and compact with the short stem. Notice the cross grained cherry bottom cap, and Alan's hand made buttons sitting the just proud of the cover plate, as well as how deep the tube sits, keeping the *actual* unit height down.
