I'm not a Lil Bud or an Elite owner, but I have interest in both products and I've got some thoughts I'd like to share about the Timber.
When I think of the word "timber", two things immediately come to mind: Unfinished raw wood logs stacked in a pile, and old-timey lumberjacks wearing toques and plaid shirts, carrying axes and yelling "Timber!" as they fell trees.
As I understand it, timber is defined as unfinished wood any time after felling and prior to any processing outside of cutting. Regardless of the definition, I always picture logs. With that thought in mind, I think it would help to further differentiate the Timber from the LB and Elite if it were cylindrical, or shaped like a log.
Maybe this is too similar to other products, but my suggestion would be to make the Timber a two part unit. Make the base essentially a wood mod-box, and turn the top heating element into a 510-threaded, iHeat style device with no glass if possible, carrying on the all-wood vapor path tradition of the LB and Elite.
I would even suggest taking it a step further, and make it compatible/interchangeable with the Insta Heat, so if someone wanted, they could purchase a Timber and an Insta Heat, then have the choice of using their devices with either the unregulated plug-in Insta Heat base or the regulated battery-powered Timber "mod-box".
I've heard a few shout out for a unregulated Timber Classic !?! Will you answer the crowd ? If so then the Timber Classic as nothing to do with the LB Elite ..
Perhaps this could be the "Timber Classic" so to speak.
I think it could be achieved without cannibalizing sales of either product line, and given that
@Alan seems to be the godfather of the LB and Elite (or at least a kind uncle) it seems like a natural fit to take advantage of the synergies between the two shops given their shared technologies and already intertwined businesses. Just my
