Just so I’m understanding. When I open up the indicator housing, I want it to look like picture 1. And it may look like what it shows in picture 2?

Sorry just want to make sure I understood correctly.

Picture 1 shows which part of the pointer needs to align with (be parallel with) the middle of the spring when it's in ‘resting’ position, as shown in Picture 2.

If it's bent more to the left, then it's shifted and it'll max out a bit earlier.

If it looks fine then there's a different problem

When you take it apart it will look like the on new picture 1.
The red line indicates the part on the green pointer that the spring has to be aligned with in resting position (picture 2) for it to be calibrated well.
You need a fine point tweezer ideally and grab the very end of the inside of the spring and pull it up to release the spring.

I think someone mentioned this a while back but I opted for a stashlogix silverton, externally its a bit chunky & bigger than I expected, but feels super good quality and solid, and fits wand tempest reload like a glove. In the top zip I have a little pouch with all the tempest spare parts.

Anyone got a good idea for a case ? For the tempest reload and wand combo?
I tried Brenyo's Firedog small bag but my wand doesn't fit in it.
( BTW the wand on the dynavap site is 7.3 inch but I found different sizes on different sites... Is this possible ? )

Maybe you’re talking about the same thing that I have problem with.
@Brenyo , correct me please, if I’m wrong.

So, I noticed that I constantly over-turn spring during assembly - half of round.

So, I tried opposite approach- I started first to place the end of spring into hole and then to place over end of the spring into indicator:

Check that the indicator in “low-temp-position”.

Put red in red first.

Hold indicator in place with fingers.

Put “blue” with tweezers in to place.

So putting the tempest through a j hook is much nicer than expected!

It gave me 2 massive pulls and the bowl was done, on the full bowl setting… Colour me impressed!

I also realised that I cannot remember where I put my bong… I put it away when I got my tempest, but usually away was stashed behind my computer… dammit.

Combined with a WPA, Firefox, and glass rig, it's a desktop vape for cheap. A Scruffy Woofers cooling stand makes it back-to-back capable; add a Reload it's a pretty complete kit. The stem is excellent but for those who have more targeted needs or want to spend less, the head alone is the base for a very flexible set of gear.

Someone over in the thermal accumulator thread mentioned they stack balls that get hotter in the top portion of the cap, then zircs beneath. So far, working well. Have boro/zirc (2.5) in one head & sic/zirc (3.0) in the other.

I am still confused. In the Video, there is a purple visual indicator. I dont have something similar in my package, but i have 3 click discs. So do I have take the visual indicator from my beta version, or Is my package just nor correct?

You should have a silver VI in your tempest head already that I think you’re supposed to reuse? The beta upgrade just includes click discs and a new spring (don’t see a VI listed, but I also didn’t get a beta model to verify). The colourful VI was only included with the full release tempests (or was available separately) as far as I’m aware.

You could be right, its not listed, i just want to know if its right since i got 3 discs but no VI.

My beta upgrade kit came with two click disks, a new induction sleeve, a new indicator housing and a new bi-metal coiled spring. The indicator itself you simply remove from the old beta housing and install into the new one, just as shown on MH's website in the Tempest manual page.

I tried that before wondering if it is easier to understand in an assembly video or has less room for errors. Tho i had no overtightening problems.
