The $25 or $50 per parcel is effectively 10% or 20% and something I think most of us would stomach.

If things get really weird (like 145% weird), any chance the T2 could undergo some "substantial transformation" in the UK before shipping? Hand-etched serial numbers? Signature from the founder? That would make it a 10% tariff again. I'm sure an intelligent engineer/business owner could find a way to make the paperwork kosher

was the free shipping based on drop ship from china?
we already payed a high exchange rate for a UK purchase(not china) but i would be ok paying shipping from UK if that can happen.
I have the Vong-i WPA stem and only ordered the V2 due to early delivery of the V2 head.

I miss when Americans would throw revolutions over taxes. What are we even supposed to do? Last time they dropped a bunch of tea into the ocean or something and that helped? Should we all just go to Boston and dump a bunch of weed in the ocean? What would the founding fathers do?

I think when basic day-to-day items aren't being stocked at big box stores like Target and Walmart we'll see public sentiment rapidly pressure the admin into retreating from tariffs or else there will be real-deal riots. This isn't WWII where everyone is pulling together and willingly rationing resources for a collective cause. This is just plain stupidity.

Americans, feel free to contact your reps and let them know there are limited run Tempest 2s with full Ti heat shields on the line.

@Brenyo if these tariff refunds are going to happen let me know I’m going to change my address to my family’s in London. It’s been a while since I’ve seen them anyways.

If I’m legally allowed I’ll offer this to as many people as I can and just bring them to the US and ship them out.

Is there a politics thread on this website? I wrote up a bunch of stuff, but I feel like it’s a bit much for a Tempest thread. But in short you would be surprised how much it takes to get the public to do something.

i am no lawyer, but i am sure thats legally possible. BUT you would also have to legally pay all the tariffs once you get back to the US with a backpack full of tempests and if i understand that fact sheet right, that someone else linked earlier, you would have to pay even more:

"Imported goods sent through means other than the international postal network that are valued at or under $800 and that would otherwise qualify for the de minimis exemption will be subject to all applicable duties, which shall be paid in accordance with applicable entry and payment procedures."

The reality for me is that I have to stomach the idea this is possibly a $500-600 device all in. No idea how long this tariff nonsense will continue and if it manages to keep in place semi long term it's going to be a similar cost to the main release with the aluminum heat shield.

I hope it works out in a more reasonable way but @Brenyo I want the device enough I hope you give stateside purchasers the option to move forward before you process refunds

I honestly am probably willing to pay that much for it too. In general I'm an extremely frugal person and I probably invest too much anyway. Every once in a while I should enjoy a bit of my money otherwise what's even the point of saving it up? Considering that I'm a tit whisker away from quitting combustion all together, I don't even feel bad about paying that much because it's probably improve my health a little

I missed out on the first round of tempest because of an illness and was lucky enough to get in on the first batch of V2s. I would also like the ability to pay the tariff please.

Wouldn’t consider paying a penny in tariffs for any vape company other than mad heaters. I’ll probably have to pass because I’m broke as a joke. Not to get political but it’s a shame they are trying to abolish the department of education because some folks here clearly need it
