Setting the V2 wand adapter very high will cause my T2’s VI to stick, usually when it’s off heat and returning. It will sit around the middle mark and then suddenly jump down below the initial mark. No permanent issue occurred from this, still works great when adapter is set properly.

I think it’s safe to experiment with what works best for you and your setup. Mine is a little higher than what the manual shows. The silicone disc does move around a bit but I don’t fuss over perfection, there’s a wide band where everything is great 👌
Okay that’s great.. I was worried that heating the VI directly could damage it

Disaster befell my beloved T1 on a recent fishing trip, I left it out to cool down and a bit of fishing braid must have stuck to the heatshield. When I next heated it up in the wand it was smoking like a good 'un and then the plastic coated dyneema braid was melted to the side of the induction shield :uhoh:

I had seen someone mention bar keepers friend so I picked some up (The Range sell it in the UK, was £1.99) and got to work. It really made lighter work of it than I thought it would, I cleaned the whole head in about 20 mins using a microfiber towel and cotton buds.

I didn't take a before pic but it was almost identical to the one on the left.

It could probably do with a polish up with some of that autosol that Brenyo mentioned but I'll probably leave it as is - until the next time!

I see bar keepers friend is available as a cream, powder or spray. I assume you used the cream?

I used the powder because I was worried the cream had some extra nasties in it... I made a paste by adding a few drops of water to the powder.

I did wonder this myself, so I searched whether the cream was any good and saw someone mention the powder was more abrasive too so that sold it for me.

I did a very similar thing to mine and then gave it a deep clean and dry. What I noticed after using it in the wand was that it took a really nice purple colour to it

Hi, I just got my Tempest 2 – what a masterpiece!

Unfortunately, the instructions on the website are too unclear or incomplete for me (I know, it's still a work in progress)

  • First of all: where exactly should I point my torch? On the bare part of the cap or underneath, where the vertical indentations are?
  • What airflow settings should I use? Both open? Only one open?
  • Do I have to cover the air hole while pulling?
  • What is the C-shaped tool for?
  • What do I do with the small tube that came with the accessory?
  • How many clicks are there?

Hello.. I’ve had my T2 for almost 2 months now, and it simply doesn’t click twice, and never has.

It only clicks once.. what’s going on with mine?

1 - the bare part
2 - thats the fun thing, its up to you! find a setting that you like and that suits you. i usually have my head 1/5th - 1/3rd open. closed stem for wpa-use, open stem if i use the tempest directly.
3 - no, but you can. i cover it with my finger/thumb most of the time. the manual even recommends covering it most of the time.
4 - its used to reinstall the bowl screen correctly (e.g. after cleaning)
5 - no idea
6 - there should be 2

I feel like someone mentioned what the tube was for but for the life of me I can't remember. Condenser tube maybe but that don't sound right. I'd like to know too

Ahh I'm jelly cos mine went straight back to a dull brown
Maybe it was because I went a bit ott and gave it a close to mirror finish 🤷🏻‍♂️ or maybe I use the wand at a higher temp

If it makes you feel any better, my pre-order T2 has only ever had a single click, which I think is the second of the clicks, so I think the first click is what's missing. I've replaced the balls but haven't taken the cap off to dig around the internal components. I'm familiar with how to do it because of maintenance on my T1. But in the end, I'm so familiar with the Tempest line that I don't really need the click to cue me where it's at (although I would prefer that it worked), so I never really bothered with opening it up and attempting to readjust anything.

Since the other questions were answered just as well as I would be able to, I'll offer up what I use for airflow. I like DTL, so I use the airflow settings that you commonly see around here - the head is wide open and the stem port is shut off. Pretty simple but that gives me the experience I want 90% of the time. The rest of the time I just like playing around with the settings/temps and seeing what happens. @sternit has it right, it's fun to learn the device, understand its personality, and dial it in for exactly you're looking for.

Same here, always one click on the T2 , I suspect the same thing as you, only second click is what I get and it is perfect for my use case, never needed the first one :D

I am wondering if I need a Tempest. At the moment I am using a Dynavap Woodwynd with a Halo Tip and a BallR Cap. So to taste differences between Terpens is important to me. Will there be a huge difference in taste if I switch to a Tempest?

I gave away or sold my Dynavaps after getting my tempest. I think they are a big improvement and can be dialed in for taste really well.

I really loved my Dynas but after getting the Tempest 2, I used them twice and wasn't impressed anymore. I thought it was just the initial excitement but it has been two months now
I also think the flavour is way better but I also think the difference between the conduction and convection high is huge, I never thought it could make such a difference

So I'm using the new wand adapter with a v1 and V2. Will the upgrade kit for the v1 mean that they both sit at the same depth in the wand?.

Since I am using the BallR Cap for convection on my Dyna, I am wondering if the difference is still huge. Any idea?
I just received my Tempest 2 Yesterday, and I will meet a friend who roughly has your setup on Sunday. I will report back afterwards 👍

The difference is massive. The BallR was an afterthought trying to retrofit an older device to meet newer trends. It works but not anything compared to the Tempest 2. For one it was designed to be a manual/portable ball vape from the ground up, and secondly it’s the 2nd iteration of the device. They nailed it down on this. I didn’t see how the T1 could be improved upon, but they did it. The most even manual convection roast I’ve experienced.
