The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

Yeah, the biggest issue I've had with ultrasonic cleaners is when you try to put too much in together.. the vibrations jiggle everything about and the surfaces scratch each other..

I put water in my cleaner, then items in ISO in freezer bags.. keeps the cleaner clean, separates flammables from potential ignition sources, and prevents scratching. 🤟🏻

That's what it says on the Tempest v2 page. All units will come with a green vi. Can't wait to get my hands on this tempest v2! Wondering how you change airflow settings on the v2. Looks like maybe the head? Wonder if this will fit the leather sleeve from v1.
I’m thinking you just twist the shield a little bit to cover the familiar looking carb? And it’s the standard carb to mouth fresh air pathway this time if I remember correctly.

The airflow looks to be similar to the V1 where you just rotate the sleeve on the cap to adjust airflow on the head. Not sure about the stem airflow. I assume you rotate the sleeve there too.

i am hanging onto a v1 head in the half bowl position and scruffy stand and intend to upgrade the head as possible to v2. My second tempest was for big bowls with friends and i think the v2 will be better for that.
You definitely don't want to lose your head! 😱

It would start as a solid blank rod before cutting and you're paying for all that material iirc.
I think that the actually engineering work would up the cost just as much, you need far harder cutting tools and there are other constraints (cutting speed, lube, etc etc). Ti is pretty hard stuff compared to Al.

Just having a closer look at the pics of it now and it won’t work for the tempest. It has a raised hex bit in the middle of the magnet that I hadn’t noticed initially, so will only work with vestratto devices unfortunately.
I’ve never owned anything from vestratto but from everything I’ve heard and read about them. They seem like the apple of vape products where everything needs some random proprietary size or part to work and you can’t just exchange across different brands like how everyone else is doing it.
For a raw TI device there is zero concern with an ultrasonic cleaner causing damage, though.
might have to consider getting a tiny ultrasonic cleaner, but also just leaving it in a mason jar of iso every night seems like a cheaper idea too.
Used them for years in my own trade and seen them damage and scratch many items, steel, aluminium, titanium etc, user error/wrong settings/type of cleaners used can be the issue for sure, lots of variables with them.
Are you saying the damage is coming from the machine itself or from the vibrations causing the parts to rub against each other and the sides of the wall?

if I got a big one and put each thing in a tiny mason jar, would that still work and stop things from getting scratched?

To be fair on Vestratto, these are custom devices with no common roots with each other that would make non-proprietary parts practical. For example, the way Vestratto design the bowl/heater set up is different from the Tempest, and one issue they have is heat locking where the bowl can become very tightly locked on to the thread, hence the hex part and matching part on the magnet, giving more leverage to remove a tight fitting bowl. Just the magnet alone wouldn't work if the bowl's not loose.
