the On/off feature was added so that the new tops is not accidentally pushed since we are going with the button that is out about 4mm.

damn...I just load a small amount of wax right on top of the wire and heat it up...I don't inhale hard either. I'm using the omicron lite...

Im having the same issue. My first one was fine. This second one is splattering up no matter how much or how little is in there. I think it has something to do with how the coil is wrapped. My first one was nice and even. This one has 2 loops really close to one end and the next two spread out some but even the last loop is a good way from the other end of the rod

My first one was nice and even. This one has 2 loops really close to one end and the next two spread out some but even the last loop is a good way from the other end of the rod

I have a KISS cartridge where the coil was shifted all the way to one side and it only heated up half the cartridge. I sorta moved the wire so it heated more evenly but its still more to one side than the other and it is doing exactly that, splatting up...it's just a bad cartridge.

Funny thing is I got two bad cartridges. Luckily they are sending me a replacement for one of my KISS carts that was DOA but I chose to keep this one that is splatting, i guess its my loss. *Good to know it is the coil and not normal performance. I am looking forward to my replacement on my other cartridge, these KISS make my wax taste so good!

@Jman5280 you could try popping the center pin out and gently tugging the ends of the wires to tighten the coil a tiny bit...do this while gently adjusting wrap placement. Please note that with the stock wick this is risky at best.

You dont need to turn it off. If its just laying around the house leave it unlocked. Only time you really need to turn it off is when putting it in a pocket.

I really like the new button as well. Its much easier to press and you dont block the blue light so you dont have to worry about not seeing it cut off when hitting the herc(not so much with the 71 white rod) or bender.

Edit......man I REALLY miss the IRIS v2. I hate going on a trip w/o one! Maybe thats why I only brought kiss carts? Idk. I really miss that two toned beastie!

I'm still using a SR-71 but I would recommend the new TI coils. I just got mine a few days ago and they're much better. They soak up more oil and seem to help me have less leaks. Taste was a little off for the first .5 or so but it's great now.

I find that with the sr74 rod and ti coils you need to preheat it a little first. My first hit is usually whispy, then subsequent hits are great.

yes thats normal for one coil. It actually works a little better that way if you have thicker oils because the oil is closet yo the hottest part of the rod.

for the ti coils no need to cut. Theyre equivalent to 30ish% of the SS coils. You dont need to upgrade them as well but its definitely an improvement. And you can torch them The only thing i dont like is having them slide up because theyre slimmer. If you stick with the SS a 50% cut should be fine and just maybe compress it with your fingers a little.

I just switched from shatter to wax and added a second coil. Have about a g in it now lets see how this goes. The rod is just slightly below the second coil....

Also another note. I didnt think i would like or use the hammer top that much. Boy was i wrong. It is perfect for the hercules. I love it so much and dont know how i used it without it...i really want to go back to the black rod, i just like the 74 rod so much that i keep loading it and dont wanna make a mess by switching out the rods.

Thanks guys for the advice, I picked up some of the newer coils to try those out and see how they compare. I see that Darb, you prefer that sr-71 rod better but with the new coils, I'll have to give that method a shot as well.

Yeah blue rod for flowers never really worked well.

Can someone tell me how the Kiss cart works? I'm having a hard time finding that sweet spot. If I understood the premis it would help. I know the wire gets hot and melts the wax into the wick thing, and then what?


What are some button technique/rhythms that work well?

What's the max you should hold the button for?

when cleaning the ti-kiss cart...is it OK to scrub the inside of the cart where the wire is with a Q-tip? I have it soaked in ISO but its not all coming off, the bottom of the cart is still black.

G -- This is exactly how the coil looked on the KISS cart I PM'd you about and sent pics, the one with the connecting wire sticking up. It almost looked like it was a mistake, like one side of the coil had about 3 normal looking wraps, then about 3-4 tightly wrapped coils close together, then 1 more normal looking wrap.

Nope, you have to press 5 times to lock it and press again 5 times to unlock it...

Take a hit, pass out and come back in the morning itll still be unlocked...just like any ego or other battery. I really miss the push out button.

IMO, thats just asking for trouble. If you let it soak in 91% ISO it should bring it back to normal. The rod and wire may still be black but thats normal

i tried @Sleepin in CA advise of gently moving the coil. It seemed like the it kept migrating back to the original position. So i tried taking the other end apart and pulling the two ends but the wires were to short and i couldnt reach them. Ended up knocking one way out if position and the carts not working anymore

Oh well luckily i have a spare with more even centered loops and no splattering!!!

Yes of course, after alcohol, it's much better to rinse well with hot water, then you dry all with paper towel, air dry or let it hours
