Just got my SS kit today and I love it. Still looking for another SS kit for my girlfriend.
I am still hating my hercules. I dont understand why its designed to leak into into the bottom container in the first place. It gets all over the rod and electrical connection between the rod and the gold piece. It seems like it gets the material hot enough to liquify but not actually vaporize before it begins leaking. kiss carts work for me so much better and never leak?
Also the top metal cap always gets material in the threads making it seal shut and nearly impossible to open without heating up. Then when you try to unscrew just the top mouthpiece it unscrews the entire piece from the base making you need to almost disassemble the entire thing each time you try to load material.
Just my experience so far.
7.4 kiss cart through a whip to a dab rig is a win tho! Big clouds.
@primeform the Hercules is designed to drop its reserves in case of not Cooling it down properly. I have run over 10 grams through some QC units and all passed without problems.
The key is to cool it down if your doing a 30 second hit then push the button for 15 and keep inhaling for the rest of the 15 without the button being pushed and cool it down for another 45-55 seconds after that.
The bottom catch can is designed to catch the oil so it does not vaporize if you forget to cool it down. This is because the ceramic having a bigger surface area this requiring for a cool down period.
What some people forget is they use standard ecig oil vaporizer techniques on the Hercules. This is not the case you have to adjust for the Hercules because it's a different beast.
@primeform I recommend trying this technique. I had temporarily given up on my Hercs because of leaking issues. Now the SR-71 is my favourite oil vape by far. I still get carried away with button holding and have an occasional leak but it's no big deal. You can just unscrew the top chamber and scrape the bottom chamber, then melt it back on to the coil. Having an Iris makes it easier to take the Herc apart on the spot but it's not really that hard. For Herbs, the Bender is amazing for taste :
Would you guys say that the Bender is the best "portable" dry herbs vaporizer? or semi portable... anything without a plugged electrical chord. I don't really care too much about its size and not really being a truly portable solution, like the Ascent, or the Pax or the Pinnacle pro... but what I really want is: healthy (all glass), taste and efficiency. I still haven't made my purchase
The bender with a Persei in 18350 mode via the SS kit is quite a bit smaller than the solo for whatever that's worth.I always used my Bender at home. Too tall to take out and about safely IMO.
Get a Solo. Built like a tank, support/warranty from authorized resellers is top notch. Taste is titteeeeehhhhhhsss.
Now back to the Persei
The BENDER is for the FLAVOR vaporist! Thats so sad. I couldnt imagine having an iris and then not. Thats rough.Well as fate would have it, a couple of nights ago my v1 Iris died.
So sad. I was about 2 seconds into a hit on the SR71 at 6.8 volts when I heard a faint popping noise and and saw a puff of smoke leaving the Iris. Never a good sign! Then I smelled that unmistakable, sickly sweet scent of burnt electronics.
And I was just posting recently that the Iris is such a perfect match with the SR-71. Maybe that was tempting fate too much. I don't know. What I am sure about is that I need another Iris ASAP. It enhances the SR-71 experience so much that once you get used to it it's hard to go back to an Iris-less setup.
What I miss most:
1) setting the power level for all the different concentrates I use. I typically vape between 20 and 35 watts depending on how stable my extracts are. Most often between 30-35 watts.
2) the consistency. Hit after hit all day long with exactly the same power levels. Until the battery voltage falls to the point where the Iris drops out of regulation.
3) resistance checking. Yeah, I can check the resistance of the Herc with a DVM but being able to check it in place when the the Persei and Hercules are assembled is the best and most accurate.
4) battery check. Being able to watch the battery voltage go down throughout the day until the Iris falls out of regulation is perfect for letting me know when to switch batteries.
5) Seeing the watts being delivered when the button is pressed (and the orange glow to let you know its working).
Out of all of these I think I miss #3 and #4 the most.
Anyway, @THC SCIENTIFIC, please keep the v2 Iris development on the front burner! Now I'll get 2 when they are released. I need backup for something as useful as the Iris. I would say don't sweat the display too much. If it had the same features and display as the v1 I would be 100% satisfied. Anything more is gravy IMO. Quick question, what is the current limit (max amps) of the v2 Iris?
@Caligula, I'm eagerly awaiting your v2 Iris review. Have you found you favorite power level setting? Have you tried vaping at the different power levels of the various models of the ceramic heating rod?
Hedo
Its currently being tested by @Caligula then has 1 more tester to go to before production i believe... So its a good while away i would assumehas anyone herd of an expected release date for the new iris?
are you storing it on its side, and cooling it down like others mentioned. As long as you dont overload it that should fix your problem.I am still hating my hercules. 1. Hercules Sr series can vaporize your noisy neighbors wife if needed, but yes it can do all oils, and water extracts without any issues.
2. If I'm not mistaken choosing the Herc when purchasing the Persei gives you a discount and on top of that you can use ILOVEUPTECH for an additional 20% off.
3. Aw imr batteries are the only way to go.
4. The Hercules has no equal in vapor production when taste is sought after.
Heres a pic of the car I bought the other day. What can I say....it matched my Persei!
nice my Hercules will be here today within a couple hours any advice on what I should do when I fist get it I believe I should take it apart and clean it correct?
