I've got a v2 top that I can't figure out if its faulty or I'm just using it wrong...

Id have to test it out again to tell which, but basically it won't work at one of the voltages, but works fine at the other (I think it'll do 7.4v but not 3.7v)

Would that qualify for the $10 upgrade to a v4 or would I need to pay some other service fee too?
(Pretty disappointed in that top, I bought it as a holdover until my earlier fried top was replaced by the vendor, and I've had nothing but issues with it)

Now that I've gotten the water level mastered due to @OB's advice(Thank-You!) the Okeanos is AWESOME(Not that I should expected anything less). It's incredibly smooth and hits you like a freight train.

Ok, back to the ohm meter sold by W9... It seems to me it's useless, or broken. Or I don't know what I'm doing or seeing. Here is what happens:

I turn it on and I get a reading of 3.12. When I screw the assembled Herc into the unit, I get a reading of 3.04. Wat does that mean? It's heating up fine. Actually, after typing that, it lowered to 2.97.

If I unscrew the top half of the Herc, it reads 3.08. Screw the top back on and now I have a reading of 3.09. But now it isn't heating up.

Ok, now it's really broke. New issue... When I unscrewed the black part that screws into the top, it actually pulled the silver lining right out of the top. Basically, when I tried to unscrew the SR74 from the top, it unscrewed the insert. There appears to be a little wire that looks like came undone and now it doesn't work.

I'm a little upset about this new development. I just got the fucking thing working again and now it's fucked. I guess I need a new top? Any warrenty on something like this? Fuck.

I had the same thing happen to my V2. Insert came out with the Herc insulator. Open a ticket they should cover you. They covered mine. (RIP, it got confiscated).

Well that's what happened. It actually happened as I was writing the question here about the ohm meter. All I did was unscrew the herc as I always do and it unscrewed that metallic piece.
How does one open a ticket? All I see on the site is options to purchase warrantees.

My goodness. How tight did you twist the Hercules on there? It doesn't need any force applied. If you were nice to it, it was probably a defective top. As for opening a ticket, it's a big green button on the Contact Us page. Hard to miss...

I have been using this every day for almost a year. I didn't do anything different to it today as far as tightening it goes. As I said, as I was writing here about the ohm meter, it happened. I didn't even realize it was turning the piece out from the top until it was all the way out.

As for the ticket submission, there is no navigation for "Contact Us". You have to scroll to the bottom of the page to find the link and I missed it.

The ohm meter from w9, mine reads 1 when it is turned on. This probably doesn't matter I am just guessing here, but are the threads on the tester clean?

Yea, it's brand new. I assume it should read 1 and then go up. I'm not having much fun with w9 stuff these days :(

Hmm looks like there is an issue, we can test everything out if you wish and if the Persei is under warranty you can upgrade to the new touch button tops.

Let me know and ill help you out and guide you on how to get things up and running asap.

@THC SCIENTIFIC can you respond to Ticket #: 2757648 when you get a chance? I'd love to get this resolved ASAP so I can use the medication I have purchased. I just need to know how to pay the $10 for the v4 upgrade.

Once current stock is out we are planning for a new package for the Persei.

This will be around march or April next year for us to repackage the Persei.

well i received my corrected order today from w9. Also took another look at my multimeter and it is reading at .8 when leads are touched. Ive now got the white rod to read at 2.7 which brings me to 1.9 and got the black rod to read at 1.6 which is 0.8 which is great :cheers:

Also a big thank you @THC SCIENTIFIC for the kiss cart you included in the reship. it looks amazing ! i was staring at it for a while trying to figure out what it was lol :suspicious:
