How many people can you get baked off one trench and one battery?

That really depends on the guys and the bud, right? Some guys need many times more than others, and some bud is many times more potent than others. In either case a four to one difference is realistic so you might get 16 times more than me, or the other way around.

Any answer someone might give to such a ambiguous question would be worthless IMO.

The best answer is probably 'try it and see'?

Does anyone have details on the new batteries? I'm interested in who makes them and if there are places that have them cheaper than MF.

I'd say one person per trench and with a battery I'd say I get 4/5 trenches done maybe, but lately I always use the power adapter (maybe better 3/4? Less?).
Passing the MFLB as a joint is not the best way to use it cause the first one gets humidity of the trench, the second get the flavor, the third and the forth get stoned.

JUstcametomind and OF great posts! I just am starting to realize I might want to buy a new vape that can be passed around to 3+ people thats portable. I find the MFLB is great with two people, but once you add a third, it becomes...obsolete?

Any suggestions from the professionals?

If all three people know how to use it properly, then I don't see why it couldn't work with a pair of the Logo batteries. I agree, though, the Launch Box is a very personal vape... not the ideal situation for groups, but one can make it work. I see it as more of a leisure vape, something you can take your time with, not exactly killing the trench in two hits and passing it to someone else. Well... you could do that, but there's a bunch of other vapes that are better for it. I'm thinking something along the lines of the Arizer Solo, Vapor Blunt's Pinnacle/VB2, Inhalater, Pax, are all proven pieces.

Hey guys,

so I just purchased the mflb in cherry finish two days ago. Two problems:
1) Both batteries weren't charged out of the box like the manual says (charged for four hours until light on charger turned green)
and the more troubling issue is: 2) On first insertion of the battery into the side of the box the battery stopped at the metal ring. It will only move past it with considerable force.

Anyone else have these issues?

Hi, welcome to the club! Sorry to hear you're having problems.

1. It's always a good idea to charge batteries before first use. This is true of any device that uses batteries. I've seen warnings on other products that state that you should charge the batteries prior to use, and this is no different. This advice applies to any rechargable battery from any product, ever. I don't think it's specific to Magic Flight or the Launch Box, as I did that when I received my ThermoVape Ultra. It's a good habit to have :) Some specific battery types will perform worse if you continually discharge them completely, so bear that in mind.

2. It sounds like your metal ring is a bit tight. It's funny because I had the opposite problem with my power adapter, the ring is tight enough for some batteries, other batteries will slip out unless I turn it to a certain angle (contrary to popular belief, not all batteries are perfectly 100% round.) Is it scratching the batteries at all? The ring will loosen up with use. Try this: take a peek inside the battery slot and see if either the top or bottom of the ring is protruding more. Swing the lid to the open position so it's not covering the top of the ring (the flat part), and gently push it either up or down so that it shifts a little bit. Try to make it a bit more even with the actual hole in the wood. If that doesn't work or you feel uncomfortable, send MF an email explaining your problem. They're known for being one of the companies with the best customer service ever. People have had friends actually smoke out of the trench (effectively ruining the screen because of the combustion resin), dropping it and cracking the lid (I did that once), a guy even dropped his in the toilet and it landed on his... well, you know. They sent him a new one, they sent me a new one, they sent the guy who's friend smoked it a new one. Pretty much the only reasons they won't replace it for you is if you lose it/get it confiscated/stolen, or if you purposely break it to get a new warranty Box. For sure it's an inconvenience, but please don't let it leave a sour taste in your mouth... Quite the contrary, you'll find your goodies will taste infinitely better than when you smoke it. You'll taste tastes you didn't even know existed.

Let me know if it helps.

Thanks for the quick response.

The batteries seem to be alright so I can deal with that and thanks for the info!

Now about the ring, when I look into the hole the ring is definitely protruding more than it should be from the bottom. So I did what you suggested, pushed the ring down to where it is in line with the hole and inserted the battery but even then the ring latches onto the battery like a vice and getting it out is as hard as getting it in (lots of insertion jokes can be *inserted* throughout this post, I know)

And at this point it seems like the force needed for each insertion might just make it worse, so this is probably a warranty situation? I've already contacted magic flight via their website (yesterday and today without response, it says 48 hours so I'll wait until tomorrow).

One potential problem with getting a new one sent to me: Do they need proof of purchase? (I assume yes) and is the warranty period 90 days? (I think it is) Well I bought this two days ago, but just looked at my receipt and it says I bought it a YEAR and two days ago...I may have to contact the store I bought it from about that.

Your "proof of purchase" is the serial number on the back of your Box :) Their own website even states that they will replace it if you damage it "even by your own stupidity" or something along those lines. Like I said, there are very very few reasons as to why they won't replace it. As long as they're around as a company, you can safely have faith in the fact that they'll take care of you. They didn't have to replace the dude's pooped-out Box, but they did anyways. This is one of the companies where "lifetime warranty" actually means lifetime warranty. Give them another day or so (they're only around the shop Monday through Friday), check your spam folder... worst-case scenario is giving them a call. The 90 day warranty you mentioned is on the included accessories, such as the charger/faulty batteries.

One more thing: the warranty transfers indefinitely to whoever ends up with it. If you sell it to someone who sells it to someone and it ends up breaking on them, they'll cover it. Sanding off the serial number, fraud warranty claims ("it broke, send me a new one" when it actually didn't break and they end up with two functional boxes), and purposely breaking it, lost/stolen/taken units are the only reasons they won't.

hey Vito, i saw some one mention there is talk of 2 different trays maybe being sold.. a screened and non-screened.. from what i remember you tested some non screened ones right? would you say the non-screened trays you tested were about as good for full melts than the ones w/ the screen(performance wise)... i'm imagining the screen adds more heated surface area for the oil?.. i'm trying to understand how necessary the screen really is.. only because it seems like a nice option to be able to use any type of hash on the same tray. if it performs the same, aside from it being easier to spill?? it seems like a worth it trade off for me. options are nice

hi first post

Basically ive had a mflb for a good 4-5 months now and have loved the product, but yesterday while having a heavy session i broke my glass stem and decided a plastic straw was a great utensil to use in its place. As you could imagine the straw melted and horrible smelling gas spewed out of my box lol. now ive contacted mflb and hopefully my warranty will still be valid but i have 2 questions:

1) While i wait for a replacement is it safe for me to use my vape (ive held the battery in for what must be hours now, a small amount of plasticky smell/taste remains)
2) Whats the shipping like for warranty? (i live in the uk)

My preference so far, was for without screen.
I found less residual oil trapped when I torched trays to clean.

I still don't have a torch. After my experiment with reclaim I had a screen that was pretty fouled, but once it stopped giving up vapour I did an ISO soak for a few minutes and then wiped everything off. It was perfectly clean and I heated it empty for 30 seconds with the PA at 100%. I couldn't detect any residual taste so I think this is an acceptable alternative to torch cleaning. I wouldn't hesitate to use ISO to clean a tray without a screen; it would be a simple soak and wipe.

One thing I should mention about that reclaim trick I tried: you have to be careful how you position the LB once you get all that resin heated up and flowing. Based on posts here I think I get a lot less buildup under the screen than many of you, and even so I managed to get some of the resin onto the screen by being careless about holding it in the wrong position. This resulted in several long burns with the PA and nothing in the trench but a lot of vapour. I don't recommend this as a way to vapourize your resin buildup, but it seems that you could. I was worried that this would clog the screen because this stuff does leave residue. I am here to tell you that your screen will never look the same after you do this, but it doesn't seem to have done any harm.

Let me preface this post with a 'fuck life'.
I received my first warranty MFLB, the WPW (they let me switch my broken WPA for one) and bought a really nice, no nonsense GonG bong (30 USD, haha - a picture of my now defunct rig is at the end of the post), all a couple of weeks ago. The guys at MF were nice enough to let me keep my old box and use it until I got the replacement. However, I did find that ever since my old box's screen tore at a rod slightly, I was getting massive headaches post-vaping. Once I received my new box, they subsided.
I didn't get to enjoy my new box Blay-Z (yes, I name my equipment - my bong is called James Bong) for very long: a week after, I spilled my bong water, it went through the WPW and into the box (right in the trench), and the wood warped horribly. I nearly cried and shot off MF an email telling them so. However, a couple days later, the box did come back to normal, nearly completely - a miracle I thought. But there was something wrong, my headaches were back. Since I was only hitting it through water fiteration, I didn't pay much attention. While cleaning the box, though, sure enough, I found that since the water incident my screen had slits torn at both rods. If I hit the box native, quite a bit of fine ganja dust was coming through into my mouth. I do want a replacement, but I feel so sad tearing up such a new box!
My question is this - do you think if I ask them to let me continue using it until the new one is here, like last time, and they agree (I'm one of those poor international customer sods after all), any dust will get filtered through the water and the vapor is good enough to inhale? I'm just worried because I had tuberculosis a couple of years ago (as some of you know) and I don't want to fuck that part of my body up ever again, which is why I switched from smoking in the first place. However, ever since I stopped vaping, I have started smoking again. Which do you think is the lesser evil (no, quitting both completely for a month is not an option for someone who's been getting high for ten years and works incessantly on the PC from home)?

Here's my woefully short-lived setup, may it rig in peace (taken via a pretty sad phone camera, don't judge). The bong has a nice grip, a slitted diffuser downstem, can be hit from a comfortable poistion because it curves towards you, and has an ice-catcher. Basically all I was looking for.

Yikes, headaches from a torn screen? That's kind of scary, to be honest... Anybody know what the mechanism of action is causing that?

Does anyone have a problem with odor? My herbs are dry and I am not combusting. Yet when I exhale there is an odor.
Any tips would help :brow:

Pop some popcorn, burn some incense, get a Smoke Buddy, get some activated carbon and make a sploof or a carbon scrubber with it... there's plenty of options! :3

I'm partial to activated carbon myself, I poked a bunch of holes in the bottom of a water bottle and lined it with a few dryer sheets, then layered activated carbon and dryer sheets until it was full :3

Edit: You might consider brushing your teeth and tongue as well, depending on what the odor is ;P /badjoke
