I've mastered ohms law some 4 decades ago. That is why I was wondering what the voltage peek was that the mod would put out. This is a case that can be real hard on internal components if not mitigated. This is due to to the energy in the chokes used for power conversion. Excessive spikes from hysteresis can degrade the electronics. One of the things I would look for in evaluating mods if I had the tools.
I watched the resistance changes in a halogen bulb with the volt mini. Crazy! It sets the current based on initial resistance and doesn't monitor it. It goes from sub-ohm to well past 5 ohms as temp increases. So for a halogen log, you need real-time resistance monitoring or a fairly comprehensive curve.
