I see what you're saying, but the size has already been broached by pax so it's not really as much of a new technology as it is a new form factor. The pax can also serve as a counter-example, where they did hit the ground running with no revisions required. It was their second vaporizer, but it was also also the first one they made to use loose herbs rather than a pre-loaded tobacco pod. For all of pax's issues it has grabbed quite a bit of market share with a relatively higher-priced product, perhaps its time on top is waning!

It sounds like you guys think that whatever they end up releasing won't be a finished product. I am hoping for the opposite, that they get this right the first time out of the gate and hit the ground running.

If they do, this will justify all of the the delays in releasing this product. It just seems to me that these guys are pretty thorough and detail-oriented, so I think they have a good chance here. They're stated repeatedly that the design is one that takes precision machining of tiny interlocking parts, which only leaves room for firmware not hardware adjustments. So the initial product release is make or break all the way.

Nah I see it totally different, I think even if its wonderful and satisfies all of our expectations that there will be an improved 2.0 version, maybe one that looks like an actual cigarette in a couple years, imagine in a couple years they find a breakthrough and figure out how to make it the size of a Blu E-Cigg? The future is unpredictable, or maybe one that vapes twice as good and looks the same?

That's all really.

I'm certain @lwien is correct. The Pax hasn't been revised but there are a lot of people who think it should be. It certainly has its flaws. The form factor of the Pax also doesn't require miniaturization the way that the Grasshopper does.

It's clear that the GH will be released without any significant beta testing, so early adapters will be subject to teething problems—and there will be teething problems.

I choose to believe in this product :spliff:
I'm not expecting a heavy-hitter, but I am expecting something that will out-perform a pax at significantly less cost. The innovation here is convection vaping with a tiny pax-like form factor.
I've always thought the pax has its flaws, but it still sells well and has a monster market share. I'm confident that the production model zenhoppers will out-perform the prototype, which seemed to work pretty well as a proof of concept. That's all it has to do to be successful out of the gate with no revisions required.

I used a Pax, kinda wasn't impressed, I hope this is a tad better but if its at the same level well...I still like the form factor better at least and at least it would work.

I wanted something different from my MFLB and the pax for what I read/YouTube reviews it was something I did not think paying that kind of money made sense

Seeing as I have 0 anything invested in this product, the part of me that craves schadenfreude wants this thing to bomb... however the more evolved regions of my brain want something that can replace my Solo as the go to portable.

Go team GH?

I'm leaning towards yes at this point.

i mean replica/china made grasshoppers.

I get the idea, but so far there's noting to counterfeit but promises. Those include a lot of features that nobody else seems to know how to deliver. Something mighty clever?

Until they get their hands on a working one to 'reverse engineer' I suggest they are dead in the water? And they're in line behind those here who put their money down. I honestly don't expect counterfeits any time soon and in any even following production units by some fairly long time?

I would think that success in this arena comes down to hiring a good international patents/copyright lawyer to cover as many enforceable/intellectual bases as possible before filing for protection and trademark etc.

Look at the pax clones, they all have a significant differences from the real deal, this is not by accident :2c:

HAAAA, wen theres a vape thats like a regular e cig imma be hittin it everywhereeee. been waiting for one since i started vaporizers 3 years ago.
Vaporizers like regular e-cigs have been out for a while mane. I used to buy them from my local dispensary on a regular basis but I realized it's a waste of $$ for daily use. It has it's place when you want to be under the rader with minimal smell factor. Here in the Bay, they are called Happy Jacks and pre-loaded with a gram of oil and supposedly good for 60-70 hits but I usually get 40-45 good hits. Taste is not that great not horrible but what do you expect for a tiny e-cig. They cost 35 bucks
