If one anticipates feeling shorted by a one session battery kill, this is definitely not the vape for them. I anticipate that the GH will easily last me a full day or more on a single battery since my vapor needs are minimal to get me where I want to be. My Solo battery has lasted me for weeks upon weeks without a recharge. I'm strictly a 1 or 2 draw limit vaporist at most two to three times in a given day. Perspective here is key to having realistic expectations. The GP will certainly not meet everyone's needs for all occasions. It was never meant to IME.

Maybe the limitations will help us all save herbs. Oppressive battery life ftw!

When someone get's their hands on this thing they should be comparing number of draws with relatively similar vapor density to a session vape so we can quantify just how good the battery life is. If the solo takes 30 seconds to heat back up then that's 24 draws per session (12 minutes right?). For me the solo can go at least 8 sessions so that's 192 draws. Honestly they don't even have to do a comparison I just want to know how many hits I can get out of each battery at the different temperatures (a comparison with the solo would act as a control for the kind of herbs you have though). If the GH can do 80 hits at a medium vapor density I'll be happy as hell after hearing OF's take on this. If not good thing I bought 2 extra batteries and have friends that are less curious than a stubborn house pet.

Is anybody else worried about cleaning this thing? I'm wondering if the threads will be a problem like on a grinder except now add the possibility of honey oil to the mix.

I will say this about my initial impression of this vape. I can't wait to fucking click that on/off switch over and over. Seems very satisfying. Hopefully I don't ruin the vape with my enthusiasm of buttons.

But I like it!
I like this. We need to come up with our own joule! Then we get the following battery chart:

Air -- 4 stones
Solo -- 7 stones
MV -- 23 stones

etc...where one stone is the amount of energy required to fuck up one stickstones on a 0.1g load of bubba kush! I'm gonna start answering like this whenever anyone asks about battery life!

And yet in your sig file you compare the MV to the Air, and now you are changing them to be a full 19 stones apart! I wish I knew if that was good, or if it was bad, or if it's about the same. Thats it... I'm going to Heat Island for a quick staycation...

I wouldn't worry too much about what metal they're using for a heater, we don't need to get involved really. There are lots of appropriate alloys no doubt to pick from. IMO a straight up engineering job, and not one that takes an old hand, give it to the new guy?

Another wild card in this discussion of 'what is a session?' is probably heat build up. I'm thinking taking more than a few hits in a row is likely to get you in trouble temperature wise? This too is a known issue I think. In this case, you have basically zero stem length to cool things off and having the MP hot to start with won't help.

I think it'll be most suitable for 'topping up' or very low tolerance users. Many others will struggle with it, others won't stand much of a chance. Fortunately there are good alternatives.

Has this been released yet? How comes it's still in the 'thread candidates' bit?

How are people liking it?

I agree.

If people backed this to have long sessions, they'll be disappointed. But I think that's pretty logical that this was never going to be a vape with a large battery life that could handle that.

Yes, they advertised it, but there has to be a point where people start using some common sense and think "is what they're advertising plausible?". You don't have to be an electrical engineer to see that based on their design, it was going to be highly improbable. I mean pre-lawsuit red bull advertises that "redbull gives you wings". You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize it actually doesn't give you wings.

I backed it because I like the functionality of it, the size, the discreetness, and the price. I'm not expecting some futuristic vape, i'm expecting a solid portable vape at a decent price.

There's a difference between using a metaphor and stating false information, eh?

Exactly. "False advertising" standards are based on what "reasonable people" would believe. You can't sue Keebler when you discover that, indeed, their cookies aren't made by elves in a hollow tree. No reasonable person believes that. However, claims of battery life are quantifiable, and reasonable....a whole other kettle of fish. (Metaphor, don't expect real fish.)

I know plenty of people questioned including my self but I dont think anyone at the time was predicting THAT BAD of battery life. I expected at least 30-45 minutes of run time so I could actually get a few full sessions out of it. Even 30-45 minute battery life would make it the worst of any battery powered vape I have owned.

I think everyone knew the numbers they put out were not plausible but I think everyone also at least expected more than the ridiculously low numbers some of the members here have posted over the past week or so. With those kind of numbers the battery situation basically regresses to the MFLB which is something I cant stand.

I will assume the company when testing this unit figured the three hour battery time was just having the vape turned on to the lowest heat and not using it. I'm wondering if that's how these companies come up with the battery times for their units?

Every company says that the battery will last 3 hours on any vape that comes out. Later we realize after folks start buying the portable vaporizers, the 3 hours is more like 1 hour. Now this unit we will really see about the battery when our members start using them.

I know it's fun to be the first one on the block with a new vaporizer. I will wait for the results from the front lines when they come in.

EDIT
Since it runs like an ecig you just turn it on when you take a draw different that using our at home units and even vaporizers like the Air. So maybe even 30 min will feel like a long time.

They do specifically say 3 hours of continuous usage. I dont consider usage to mean just turned to the lowest heat on not using it. They do even lay out a nice "Grass-hopper is one of the longest lasting portable vaporizers available".

This is the third time I am saying this(Maybe more?) but do you guys realize how manufacturers list battery life? My Sony MP3 Player is rated at 30 hours, yet since I use high volumes and don't have the screen off 99% of the time, plus the fact I use high driving headphones with high bitrate files I get about 9 hours IF LUCKY.

Man I am gonna have to treed careful around you guys when I make a vape in the near future O_O...

Do you really think that's the same thing? Even close?

I bet Sony can demonstrate 30 hours (or close to it) but doing the things you're not and not doing the ones you are. As you say, your usage decisions are eating up the batteries.

Do you think GH will be able to demonstrate 3 hours? How about half an hour?

I get what you're saying, makers tend to exaggerate battery life. But IMO this one's way past a stretching of the truth. Clear into 'no way, Charlie' land?

i only saw implied functionality in the presentation, and being a reasonable person (gf may have an alternative viewpoint) i start to wonder which parts of the description are wishful thinking, or design goals, or test results. And since some parts i know from personal experience are exaggeration, perhaps i be a bit skeptical.
Clear into 'no way, Charlie' land?

or as we say in the now America, 'No way, Jose'.

Sorta yeah, I am betting on it running continuous 3 hours meaning running on low and not being vaped on constantly for 3 hours since we as humans need to breath air throughout it. It's all sorta speculation though, I just think for a vape this small battery life is being focused on a lot, I mean if this thing can get through 3-4 trenches how much more do you need while out for the day? My tolerance is pretty up there BUT I don't think I would use more then that while out and about.

Don't think we should be using this as a session home vape, I mean unless you don't have a home unit, plus cant it be used while charging at home?

I really don't think they'll be able to sell that one. Few I think would consider it sitting on the table between hits as being used. Most would consider it being used when it's doing it's intended job, making vapor. Most would consider it sitting there cold and dark to not count, unlike Sony would would still be making music the entire time?

For sure battery life will be a big concern, now clever to have avoided all that by promising '4+ hours'. Even reduced to 3 hours, most guys considered that plenty. Some few considered it BS most likely.

If it does perform well (and IMO that means without the need for stirring between hits) it should find a warm welcome with some. I agree, it's not a game changing vape due to obsolete all others (or so it seems), a poor session vape but useful for a hit or two at a time.

Time will tell, what's the latest expected ship date? We should know shortly after that, or at least have a handle on it.

As long as the GH reaches 88 mph to activate the flux capacitor, we should all be fine!

Which brings up a good point, do you go back in time to get cheap weed, or forward to get their top shelf?

please if you speculate about the GH make it clear so every body knows it... because i am reading hear things like it only heats if you use it (like a e cig) that are pure speculations aren t they... this thread is more desinfomation.. then informativ... !!!!!!!!!!!!!

for example some did wrote GH e-mails to clarify things... so it would be possible that someone wrote GH an e-mail asking about battery life and so on... and then telling us... perhaps that it is working like a e-cig... for example... but everybody who watched the videos can denay that because GH needs a little bit of time to heat up.... it isn t as far as i know a one hitter...

because i am having sometimes problems hear to differentiate if what people are telling here is true or pure speculation...
