Sure is but the speculation is on Grasshopper's plate, not mine. I didn't make up that 3 hour battery life, they did. It is directly quoted from their Indiegogo campaign.

Compare the expected 3 hour battery life of the Grasshopper with the 90 minute actual battery life of the Indica, and you come up with the double battery life I mentioned.

It is still all speculation until there is a unit to test though.

Yeah but you are comparing a theoretical battery life to an actual battery life so in reality it is a worthless comparison... Apples to oranges sort of thing.

Good point, but one I don't think was clear 'up front'? It looks to me as well that they were 'almost there, ready to order parts....'.

But, let me stir the pot a bit more? I suggest it might not have been a working prototype, that is one that demonstrated their ground breaking claims. If indeed they had managed to get a 30 Watt heater (the hottest T1 model) in that tiny package and had a battery that would power it for '3 hours' (discounted as you will, TV got seven minutes on much larger state of the art batteries) in that same package there'd be no need of crowdfunding or anything like it. Venture Capitalists, established vape makers and a whole host of similar guys with ability to actually judge the prototype would have beat each other up no end to get on board. All they would have had to do is show it off.

Also, if it was a working prototype all they'd need to do to put an end to the speculation would be to make another identical unit and send it to an objective reviewer.

I too hope that these apparently 'laws of Physics defying' claims pan out, and I'll rush to buy one when that happens, but until then I'm glad none of my money is on the line........

Of course they don't want to share, but they could 'write their own ticket' for a big old slice of a much larger pie that way. There are lots of experts that would be very happy to protect their interests. It's what IP is all about.

Not to mention their existing distribution network? You need that to sell thousands.

As someone pointed out we're talking about a $5000 Geo that gets 128 MPG and does 10 second quarters. If you could do it, Chevy would make you rich, very rich. Or Ford would. IMO you'd be smart to pair up with 'big money' so you'll have resources to protect your Patients? If it's even half as hot as claimed, there's gonna be wolves at the gate in no time.

Remember, a Patient is only as good as your ability to defend it. Crowdfunding won't help there.

Edit: In reading a bit more from their site, I think we have to excuse the fellow who thought he was ordering one, it seems the 'maker' thinks so as well? From their Q&A:

"I've already made an order, but I'd like to add some additional accessories. - You can add accessories at any time, even after you've placed an order."

FWIW I seriously doubt you could actually produce new Geos for anything like five grand. Forget the jet fighter horsepower to weight ratio. Even making hundreds of thousands. Last time I read about it 'threshold of entry' for a new car maker was something like 15 Billion? Look at Tesla (and they got a bunch of Obama bucks and a used assembly plant here locally for a big assist. Your first Geo costs $15,000,005,000 to make in that game.

Vapes aren't that severe, of course, but making and selling in volume is not for wimps. Or novices.

Then again, let me drive your Prototype......I'll bring my checkbook.

I know. That's why I used the words "expected" and "actual".

I'm not claiming anything I said to be fact, just sharing the things about it that interest me.
