Hey Everyone,
We’re here with the November 1st update. All of the Grasshopper parts are in our manufactures hands, and are slowly arriving at our facility. Since the last update, we’ve submitted software tweaks, created a User’s Manual, and continued to work with our manufacturers.
The Grasshopper software has been getting small updates since Version 1 was created months ago. Version 1 was intended to ship with the first Hoppers, but due to the delays with manufacturing over the last few months, we’ve improved it to get more out of the electronics. We’ve shrunk the size by switching to a low-level assembly language, and added more features with the extra space. We’re pleased that we’ll be able to ship a better version to you.
While we work with our manufacturers and await the arrival of more parts, we’ve been tackling some other important tasks. The Users Manual is something that we didn't even feel was absolutely necessary, but for legal reasons and for complete clarity, one is being included. Dustin has been working hard to draw up a simple manual including instructions, pictures and warnings. Expect to see one in your Grasshopper’s box.
The arrival of each new batch of parts can be nerveracking. We test each one for consistency and compatibility using precision calipers. This is the time when we check the manufacturer's work for errors, and this will ultimately ensure a quality product. We’ve had good results with almost all of our parts. Trevor is shown below checking the diameter on some of the dials a few weeks ago.

We’re pleased that there haven’t been any problems or hiccups since laying out the goal to have our first units ready before the end of the year. We’re on target for that, and we hope to keep it that way. Check back on November 15th for more photos, news, and information.
