from memory, there's been no talk of combustion of cotton, but temps >4 can scorch it which can cause a slight flavour. Some people just put up with it, where as others use lower temps to avoid it.

Personally I'd just use flower and keep the mouth-piece pointing down when toking.

Received my 2nd hopper from vaposhop (1st worked 5 days before re/blue lights), this time it worked 1 day :(

At first it lighted "pink" but seemed to worked, then realised it stays red when charging and making "tick-tack" noise, like bomb about to explode.

Now it stays red when switched on, still that noise and switches off after few seconds.

Anyone in europe received a hopper that is still working after few weeks?
Feeling deseperate right now as it is the best device for me, when it is working...

tried my GH through water finally, and yay! whenever i vape through water, i love it and wonder why i do it so rarely. SSFG travel beaker.

That is so damned baller.

Looks very cool. Futuristic.

Can't wait until they figure out the problems with it. Future versions should be amazing. I really would like to just pre order one, but it sounds like it's to unreliable and customer service isn't good enough for all the problems people have.

But I am tempted to get one anyway.

Or maybe future versions won't exist cause hopper labs goes bankrupt and we're stuck with broken hardware...
It must cost them money to exchange a product 14 times like someone posted.

I ordered two Ti grasshoppers from VapoShop. First one was stuck on max temperature no matter the setting, going for a refund on that one, second is working fine after 2 weeks.

One more thing i don't remember ever mentioned before. This vape is the best i have ever tried for "bed side hits". While still laying down i can grab my already packed hopper from where it is clipped next to my bed and hit it with out even sitting up. This is harder with any other vape i can think of

I do not know but in my opinion I do not think that there are this much not functioning not working ghs... but people with bad ghs complain whereas people with working do not state that theirs are working...

also to be honest if someone is sending his gh more then 10 ten times because of warranty issues to gh I would be interessted how they use theirs... but yes that should not happen... as long as you do not blow water in your gh or such...

by the way yesterday I inspected the air intake holes and it seemed like there is something around the holes so I took a toothpick and gently cleaned the holes (I did not push the toothpick more the 1mm in the holes and on both ghs I got graphit looking sprinkles out of the holes did someone else recognized this... maybe it is from the driller when drilling this holes in the metall... but strange...

@catbird that's a badass little beaker :)

There's one for sale in the classifieds which I was looking at a month ago, I take it this is not it?

Just nit-picking, but the ice you have in the tube may promote condensation of the vapour. If you're looking for smoothness, try some warm/hot water instead.
Nothing wrong with an icy blast though, whatever works :)
@MoltenTiger Thanks! Nope, not mine that's for sale (it's basically the same piece but the shape looks different, and mine's taller than 8.5 inches). Thanks for the tip -- I just really like ice/cold, but I'll try hot and see how that goes...

Full ack as we said in the usenet days... they might want to install a feedback feature on their site, but many people may not want to register for that.

They should not send out a unit that had been claimed 9 times before. This may be expensive, but honestly, what could a user have done wrong to return it ten times?

So, last night, I reported that my SS would not power up and that I had tried two batteries that were showing at 80% on the D2. Charged one of the batteries overnight and put it in today, as a test. It powered up fine. Now I'm wondering if there is a GH issue or if I have a couple shit batteries. I'd hate to think that a battery at 80% is too drained for the device to function properly (unless my D2 is falsely reporting the charge but it has seemed reliable in the past).

th

Autoignition temperature(at which it will spontaneously ignite in a normal atmosphere without an external source of ignition) : 407 °C (765 °F)

This simply blows my mind, that a company would rather take a unit back 14 times (let alone 3 times) than replace it completely.

Have GHL ever heard of "burn-in"? That's when you put a product through some paces to be sure its functioning before shipping it. WTF, I say, WTF.

QUESTION: As I am still waiting for my hopper... Is it possible to remove that stupid clip? I noticed pics of the clip itself on the GHL site (before assembly). Surely there must be a way to take it off/replace it if it bends badly or whatever.

No clip means your gh will roll off the table every time! But I'm sure you can figure out a way to remove it when you get yours.

I have also mentioned burn-in as a way to increase ship unit reliability. I thought these guys were aerospace engineers...surely they must know about environmental parts screening, burn-in, etc. At a minimum, I would have hoped that they (and other manf who want to be taken seriously) would have put the GH through some sort of accelerated reliability test (perhaps under some degree of electrical and environmental stress) to drive out failure modes for fixing prior to mass shipment.

While I agree that we only see a small, and quite possibly highly skewed, sample on forum boards, I have a very hard time believing that the failed GHs we see reported are only the tip of the iceberg and that a vast majority are just fine. Mine is working fine so far (about a month or so in), but they clearly have some commonly presenting failure modes. Further, these 'aerospace' engineers now have more than enough failed units to have done sufficient failure analysis to determine the failure modes and needed corrective action. Whether they can afford to cut in a design change is another story.

I do not think it beyond the realm of possibility that Hopper may fail and hence my 'lifetime' warranty becomes valueless. They are busy pissing off a large swath of potential customers with their abysmal delivery performance, their opaque and constantly changing communications on delivery, and their highly visible product failures.

I think its noteworthy that I personally have not seen these guys on any BBS willing to get into a discussion on these issues.

Love my GH, think the company is fucking up by the numbers.

P.S. - I also would love to lose the pen clip. It mars the finish of my Bronze Ti when unscrewing the back end to change batteries and its just superfluous to me (but I do know others like the clip).

Well, I'm not going to try to talk you out of it...I sure have mixed feelings; I love my GH but am not very enamored with Hopper Labs and their delivery and manf quality.

I did just want to point out that stealth isn't important to me either. My primary use case is for a quick couple of hits without muss, fuss, or waiting for heat up. In that light, does the GH still appeal to you?

Well....
I dunno...I've had my GH for 3 or 4 weeks and it is freaking awesome. I am sure sorry to hear about the many many that seem to be having issues with their Hoppers....but I sure do love mine.

ok, ok. Maybe I'll try to forget I ever ordered it and some day, a year or two from now, it will just arrive at my doorstep and I'll have a fun afternoon. I will probably have to leave the forum, though.

All this reminds me of my experience with vaporblunt and the pinnacle pro tbh. I love both vapes, but the manufacturers response to their products issues left a lot to be desired. I'll get my hopper fixed, and sell it on. This will be my third hopper and I'm not being paid as a beta tester so time to move on for me :)

this happened to me where it would not work properly and i would just click off then click on and it would work again. sometimes it didnt work so i left it alone for a day or 2 and when i tried again after a few days, it worked again somehow. the thing just got too finicky and i was told to send it in. waiting for their reply right now...

It's an obsession but it's pleasin'
This simply blows my mind, that a company would rather take a unit back 14 times (let alone 3 times) than replace it completely.

I wonder if replacing an individual component and seeing if that solves the problem provides them with data for tracking where the recurring problems are coming from. But to do that while frustrating your customers doesn't seem like a healthy trade-off.

Here's a naive outsiders' thought: Why wouldn't they replace an entire defective hopper, take back the defective one, figure out what's wrong, fix it, then sell it as a refurb at a healthy discount?

Mine gets literally one chamber per batt..if my batt isn't fully charged when I start a new chamber then it won't vape the chamber but damn on a full battery those have to be the biggest bong hits of any vape out there..and I've got all the big hitters..this thing rips but batteries suck..
