Discontinued The Grasshopper

Not enought for me, I've had vapes long enough to know that after an ISO bath the pieces need some brushing most of the time.

Same as a bong/bubbler, if you don't add some abrasive (salt) and shake, ISO itself doesn't clean it perfectly.

As I said I'm a bit OCD cleaning my vapes/glass :mental:

put that mouthpiece on a rig, torch it up, and take a dab!

but if you want to act less radical, i remember one guy posted a picture of a tool he made to open up that mouthpiece. in this thread... page 220

I have removed the mouthpiece screen with a tool I made and it does help you clean every bit in there but I'm not so sure if it's necessary to take the mouthpiece apart to clean it. I do because I was curious to see what was up there and to see if it had to be removed to clean it thoroughly. See the pics of the tool and the insides below:

you should ask @Just Justin how to make one if you interested

ISO bathing is near perfect but there is the thread underneath the mouthpiece that easily gums up. Enough where ISO wasn't enough. I've had to scrub with ISO qtip and that even isn't getting it all. It's actually kinda becoming a problem for me because it's now requiring a cleaning more often then I expected.

Has anyone commenting on the battery fading over time. It seems to me that the charge doesn't last as long and I charge it and in like 15 minutes it's fully charged

Oh and these are not big deals compared to how wonderful this unit is. I feel like the final product is a beta or prototype. The next generation will be flawless!

Just in case someone missed the one post out of all these hundreds-
DO NOT DO THIS! HL specifically said not to. And they said it to Vaperist, who should know better than to suggest it, even if it was meant as a joke....

but this is so inviting. like a forbidden fruit.

Cloudy...
Havent tried with the hopper (because don't have one:() but hot iso usually works well with my ud stems. Cool iso doesn't do to much for the build up. A little cleaning here amd there. But when I put it in a baggie soak it in hot water and shake it for a little ends up sparkly clean

Never thought about putting it in a bag and then soak it in hot water. Thanks for the suggestion, you can be sure I will try this when ISO isn't enough and I cant use PBW.

After lurking around this thread and even cancelling my July preorder I finally bought myself a Grasshopper! :D

I am from the EU so when I learned Vapefiend was selling some I decided to try my luck. If you were there at 8pm GMT you could easily get one. I've seen way worse events like those where most of the time you cannot even access the website because of the traffic! :cuss:

For all the people in the EU thinking about getting one, it's a bit expensive but nothing beats the fact that they are immediately available! (not even mentioning that you would probably pay taxes when ordering directly from Hopper Lab)

Anyway I'm super happy right now and can't wait to try it! ^^ I even got myself one of those Budgie bubbler cause I had no small glass pieces and that one seemed nice (although expensive when comparing to Dhgate... but then again, time is money!)

Quick question, I'm looking for extra batteries but on the Grasshopper website it's written April 2016 as shipping date (ghrrrr)...
Anybody got an idea of where I could find those little blue cylinders? :D

are you saying that you get a Hopper from Vapefiends with two batteries and can't add more? wells, that's a bummer if so.

I think you only get one battery, didn't see in vapefiend anything about 2 batteries :(

Awesome! thanks a lot, that's exactly what I was looking for :)

EDIT : Tried to grab 3 from them just now but it seems they limit the orders to only 1 battery... Or maybe they just have 1 left in stock

They don't have any accessories and won't get any for several months apparently (called them earlier). And I didn't know they provided 2 batteries, it's not written anywhere...

What kind of charger are you guys using? Is this Nitecore i4 appropriate?

I think the extra battery is only for backers/pre-orders because they had to wait. Not sure to be honest

In REAL LIFE usage, a person is not going to notice any performance difference caused by the different metals used in the construction of a GH. I'm not putting any weight on something a "beta tester dude" "mentioned", because that is one person's subjective opinion, and because BETA. And anyway, of course drawing air after switching off the heater cools the mouthpiece- that is going to happen whether it is SS or Ti.

Your so-called "Laws of Physics" come from sensitive measurements done under ideal conditions with carefully controlled variables. The GH has a temperature dial- we don't know if a given setting on one will give the exact same temperature on another. Right there, that's a single variable that makes any conclusion about different performances between two units extremely questionable. Here's another- how fast is someone drawing- how much air is being passed through the heater in how much time? Completely subjective and something no user has any way of quantifying.

As I said, different metals have known properties. That doesn't mean that GH built of different metals are going to noticably express those properties.
I went with Ti because I wanted a colored one- that or the lighter weight are really the only valid reasons for pick in one over the other.
I can confirm that while the Ti mouthpiece gets hot faster than the SS, it's also cools much faster than the SS.
This is in real life use. A/B blind testing.

FYI I was a 12/22/14 pre order but had not received my address confirmation once the pre orders stared because I had an outstanding balance due. I added a second hopper , yes for myself, because I was worried about failure but never rec'd an invoice to pay. If I hadn't contacted HL to inquire about possibly missing an address confirmation email it would have slipped thru the cracks. check your account...

Are you using them on the same body? Otherwise, you aren't really confirming anything about the properties of the metals...

Don't buy It overpriced. You can email Caroline she'll tell you to place the order and email her back when you do and she'll ship it out the next day.
