"we are in the process of updating our shipping estimates"
Hahahahaha.......its deja vu all over again. With a little interruption in the middle, from the time they said they were NOT going to keep updating the online shipping estimates.

Mine hasn't broke yet, fingers crossed that the back end changes turned the corner on the reliability issues!

I am a pre order and haven't been waiting that long but am anxious to get the GH in my hands. I love my pax2 but it isn't a quick hitter like the GH. Quick question to those that have one, does this unit smell after use? I anticipate the GH to be similar to my MFLB in smell which is pretty minimal. Is that accurate?

i think that SS case defeats a purpose of GH being stealthy. for example- you go trough security check of summer festival. ether you carry your Hopper in pocket or in a bag. ether way metal detector is going to beep. so security guard asks: "what is this?" you say "a pen". he asks: "Why it is inside a case like that". "Because it is a very expensive pen you might argue". "So why da F you carry so precious pen inside a festival? i wanna check it." dahhh,...

i think the most stealthy way to carry GH is in your front pocket together with a little notebook. using a leather sleeve is better for that, as you can still use a clip.

Why would I carry the case with me into a concert? I rarely go to concerts anyway haha. I want the stainless steel case for when I have it in my car. Which I drive around everyday. To keep the smell contained.

And yeah I know it's not out yet but I figure I might as well order now and hope I get it in March and not have to wait if I order it later.

They had problems with its design. No info that the problem has been fixed.

I was going to carry mine into work this morning but then I put it right up to my nose and it smelled so I left it in my car lol

I took a break from the thread for a bit because updates were less then spectacular for a while so now got the confirmation email finally but alas no tracking but my friend 30mins away already got hers and is rubbing it in :ugh:

I was curious though what are the symptoms of a grasshopper that is not working properly? She mentioned the hopper got super hot really fast. I was curious when I do get mine what to look out for and what's normal.

Main problem (from gh threads) is backend high heat, or other backend problems. Some have seen the blinking lights of death too.

Hope yours is perfect!

Just wanted to add that my defective GH with the police lights were not the lights of death, but rather the GH overheating.

Thanks for the quick reply and yea I'm hoping mine doesn't have those issues. My friend mentioned the heating that it's an ok vape pen nothing revolutionary.

Wasn't the whole reason for the pens creation was to get around standard heating problems? Back end heating being high enough to short out and create the Christmas lights of death a common issue? is this product what we were promised when we backed it? I know people are getting them in their hands now. Is the reviews omg this changes everything? Or meh another pen vape I waited years for.. ?

I'm excited to get mine soon but I'm also hoping it is what they promised.. Waited so long for it lol

Sounds like you have a lot of catch up reading to do :cool:

People here who have a trouble free gh mostly say it's a game changer!

Will I know if I have the backend problem right away or can it manifesr down the road? My front end can get pretty hot but I take long draws maybe try to slow sip more. If I use the silicone tip im ok but can't really use it without it.

Bummer so March isn't a concrete date at all then I'm assuming?

Haha I figured as much but getting ready to go to work I was hoping I could ask but I guess I will save the reading for later.

I recommended in good faith to my friend to watch videos maybe there was something she might be doing or not doing to cause the issue.

Her heating back end was immediate not an over time issue.

I emailed grasshopper the past two days about tracking but I'm sure they are busy but ugh so close!! Wanna know its in transit!! Lol

Hot back end = bad back end, submit warranty request, will have replacement in a week. Hopper IS revolutionary, in there's no other simple, temp stepping, full-speed ripping vape one-hitter. My Grasshopper sessions last as long as a combustion one-hitter session, <2min, and that brings a quick perspective shift that I was totally missing from combustion. THAT's a game changer, I finally have a vape I can hand to a combustion friend and they GET it. Also crazy efficient, I have to stop myself from loading more than a 1/2 bowl cause it just doesn't look like much, but convection vapes do awesome w/ an unpacked bowl.

@Marvc, don't draw slow! The hopper has the power and full speed rips are what it does best, no benefit to drawing slow. My sessions are 2-3 8sec draws @ 2.2, 2-3 8sec draws @ 3.6, done. I click off 2/3rds of the way through for heat and lung management. Mouthpiece is very warm but not hot at the end.

Couldn't agree more. I have a tough time only putting so little in, but it certainly works better that way.

Bad back ends DO manifest over time. All 3 of the bad ones I've had started out fine then shit the bed after a week of use.

4 times in a row I couldn't use my Hopper after work. I kept it in my coat pocket during but once I got outside it would start and then go red mid hit. I try and click it on several times after that and it behaves as if it has no battery. I got in the car to connect it to the charger. Initially it did not even flash any lights like it did for the first heat up. I reconnected and a quick red blip. ..I waited a few minutes for it to charge more and for my car to get warmer, it would turn on but it seemed all the battery was drained (even though it should have been full). At first I didn't think it was on but I saw some red flickering then it went out and 3 seconds later went blue. Started my drag and 2 seconds later it went red. I was able to get about 4 actual hits from my Hopper on my way back and then swapped for a new battery once at home and killed the bowl even further.

Temp outside was about 20F, I've had my Hopper in warmer weather after work and it works so it is unfortunate how well the unit/batteries are affected in the cold.

20f is pretty cold. Definitely below the 32f min reccomended temp. You also might consider that your car charger may be underpowered compared to a wall plug. Not trying to blame, just keep hope alive that we aren't seeing another failure.

Definitely the cold it happened a couple months ago on first snowfall. All my Hoppers are still good. Back-ends can get hot on some days but the units get used at least once daily. And until they actually stop working or burn me I won't send them in.

That's weird, cause I saw someone on Reddit say they'd used theirs when it was like 10 below. I wonder if they were just an anomaly or if they were trolling...

I doubt he is trolling or anomaly. I see Buzz (VaporizerWizard) display his in the snowy areas. It works sometimes but most it seems to be shorter of a session than it should and that sounds understandable to me considering its cold. I only mention now because of the four day in a row consistency.

New or old batteries the Hopper would have worked in my work environment and at my home. They were fully charged batteries that just sat inside my coat for 8 hours.

Is there supposed to be buzzing noise while charging? Thx

That's normal from the magnetic piece, I've also recently found that the transformer(?) next to the USB also buzzes, but haven't asked GHL if that's normal but I imagine it is.

I'm no expert on batteries, but my old batteries barely last 1 full load. If it were really cold theoretically there could be zero charge, even if they had been fully charged? I've gone through 3 sessions on a new battery throughout today already.

Oh well! It's both unfortunate and awesome that the batteries are cheap I guess.

I'll order some new batteries, but I've got six and I've gotten way more than 4 half hits from that battery yesterday. But maybe they've improved them over these months. Or mine has discharged a lot over these months of daily charging.
