I bet some bidders are really wishing that was case at this point. The current low low price is at $1,050.
I really wan't to have a Hopper myself but i almost regret getting my Air for $200 in 2014, That being said i don't think i'm even permitted to say what i think about someone willing to pay over a grand for a $100 portable on Fc.
Don't knock the Air you haven't received a GH yet. I have seen all this hype before. Often when your hopes get too high you may be disappointed. I'm hoping that the GH knocks it out of the park but we don't know yet.
Just confirmed from dualxdank that the supposedly new chamber screen is not removable....maybe with the mouthpiece screen tool, you can remove the "new" chamber screen too??? It just seems like debris will get caught between the two screens and there would be no way to get it out if that's the case.
I agree, 300 seems a bit much. I think the sweet spot will be around 200 for both models ($199 Stainless/$249 Titanium?) once this weird preliminary catch-up period is over. Whenever that'll be....
1. Fast, I mean Real Fast, I mean faster then a virgin at a porn shoot fast.
2. Just like Under Cover Brother said.....
"Just Feels good in the hands, ya dig?"
3. Did I mention this thing is Fast!
Now for some bad news - I have some issues that need to be addressed by the Hopper Heads. I struggled with even bringing it up on here because I don't want to start any riots or contribute to any more negativity. I knew going into this that being the 4th overall backer was more then likely going to put me into a beta testing phase and I was looking forward to being able to help.
That being said I wanted to also get some feedback from the people that have their units to see what their experience has been regarding this so far....
My first issue/(Easter Egg!) is this:
I ran some initial cycles to check for any off gassing (very small initial vapor with first cycle but gone after that even at setting 5, typical initial heating element smell but nothing bad) and my unit was working correctly with the 18 second auto shut off.
Forgetting about the metal to end contact that can cause the light to flash (but not heat) I set my hopper on top of a steel bushing to use as a stand. The light flashed and I remembered.
I removed it right away and pressed the button on and off again to reset. After this happened my unit did not auto shut off anymore. Longest I timed it was 30 seconds but did not want to go any further than that. I figured this can't be good so I tried touching the end to the bushing again and it worked. The auto shut off was back on.
I would have tried to touch the metal again to see if it turned back off again which leads me into my second issue.....
So, as stated by most owners I have seen so far, my mouthpiece gets decently hot after 3 or 4 cycles at medium temp but nothing I can't handle without the silicone adapter.
My problem is (and seems to be getting worse) is that the battery end cap with the temperature adjustment along with were it screws into the main body is getting very hot. It seemed to happen slowly but now its gotten to freak me the fuck out this things going to blow hot. It's almost as though I can feel the energy surging through the stainless steel especially when initiating the heat cycle, but also throughout the entire 18 seconds. The last cycle I ran (and that will stay this way until I speak to the Hopper Heads), I started from cold, set to temp 3, and within seconds I felt a searing heat on the inside of my hand where I was holding the unit and heard what sounded like sizzling (inside the unit that I had not heard before, not my hand ). Enough to where I turned it off immediately sat it down and backed the hell away for a few minutes. (Checked the battery, seemed fine.)
NOW, I know this is a (hopefully ) isolated problem that we have not seen before and I am confident that the Hopper folks will take care of me and correct any issues.
The reasons I bring it up is because I would like to hear from any of the other owners if they feel any heat and or surging that I am speaking of towards the back end of the unit and/or if any of you have seen the auto-shut off stop working on your Hoppers?
LOADING TIP:
If you have any Arizer Q domed screens laying around they make nice filling tools. Scoop material into domed screen, invert hopper and place into screen (fits perfectly), turn over, one tap. Done.
Damn...honestly, I hope I have minor issues only, what your saying scares me and I would keep the battery out, hell it could be about to blow, its happened on shoddy E-Cigs.

I can guarantee you that you have a point of high resistance somewhere in that tail cap(should not be there.) That point of resistance(short most likely) is causing the tail end to heat up. Do not use it again until it's fixed, otherwise you will most likely vent the battery or worse.
As to the battery. It has seen abuse now that it shouldn't be subjected to. It has most likely been subjected to a hard short for an undetermined amount of time, along with a potential fast buildup of internal heat.
I, personally, would not trust that battery again and would seek a replacement when you contact them.
Edit
The tail end of the unit should never suddenly get hot. This is a sure sign that something major isn't right with it(could be as simple as a small fleck of metal in a place that it shouldn't be.)
I see no reason for other people to start panicking over this.
That's what I was also writing up. I have some experience with both batteries and electronics and believe this to be a short to the case. I was trying to get there in my first post but I am anal and these damn posts take me hours to write!
But thank you for your post and the warning to not panic.
The hoppers body gets mildly warm quickly with the amount of power the heater is producing so at first I did not think the heat was too great at the back end but slowly started to get that is it gotting hotter feeling.
Then the last cycle happened and I was trying to explain the feeling so people would know what to look for....
Phew! Sounds like a manufacturing defect (hopefully resolved with the production of more manufacturing tools to assist in building the vapes).
Although I am concerned about how repairable these vapes will be - sounds like they are complicated instruments which an owner shouldn't attempt to repair themselves.
It is important to remember there are also a handful of Grasshoppers in the wild which are still working perfectly fine after weeks (months?) of abuse. Not everyone with a hopper chooses to share their thoughts on this forum (or any forum online)
Note @lovinlivinlife - you had SN 609 right? I wonder when they started the count.... I know there were quite a few prototypes made without serial numbers, so I'd think they probably started using serial numbers in the past few months - @BuzzDanklin do both of your units have serial numbers?
Still with at least 609 hoppers produced, they should be working out a hell of a ton of issues with the design by this point. Hopefully they have 99% of the kinks worked out by the time my late preorder ships

It's a bluegrass festival this weekend (tomorrow- 7/26) in Floyd Va. It's going to be a cool weekend. Was hoping maybe an FC bluegrass fan might be out there willing to let me try their hopper.
That's awesome it is getting taken care of so fast but it would have been nice if the problem was explained other than just yeah we know what the problem is.(sounds like it's happened more than once)
Are they sending you new batteries? Did they say the batteries might be compromised?
