Discontinued The Grasshopper

Has anyone gotten one that worked, and kept working?
Two I got for friends have been going strong since August.
Plus, on reddit a few people have reported similar and better longevity

I've had a good run except for a few times I over alcoholed it. The newer parts have all seemed to be better too. There's no doubt the Grasshopper is a finicky device, but overall it hasn't been much hassle and has been well worth it

I'm dreaming of a GH2 with no threads (magnetic tip) designed for easier filling and practically zero need to clean. Take away the need to clean threads this thing is maintenance free. Far as I'm concerned I wouldn't bother with a magnetic charging cable if it came to cost.

Throw in a better, more even light display preferably with battery strength (voltage) readout. And allow the temp dial to be rotatable independent of the battery.

Maybe even some different mouth piece options too that can all be interchangeable.

I'll stop fantasizing now lol...

Love your dream, although I think maintenance is pretty light and easy with this vape now, especially compared to other vapes...

Happy New Year ladies'n'gents in this thread as well since I saluted the other thread with the Ethics, the Karma and the Warranty earlier tonight with my 1st 2017 post!

Dug this up....has the video I referenced previously. Also pretty sure that both of my new Hoppers are newer stock - they both had GHB2 batteries. More testing....something is definitely up with both of these new backends. It's as if they cook the load a little slower to start or something...wondering if the temp programming has changed at all, otherwise my backends are just sensitive/finicky.

Also noticing that my older bodies taste better..... the newer bodies on max temp are just a touch too hot and can taste some hints of combustion....never experience this on older ones unless I draw ultra sloooow.

Wow... this makes som much sense to me. Even my flickering red/blue lights get slightly better when playing around with the click button. It gets stabilised more often to the blue state.
Thanks for digging this up mate!
There is so much information on the GH that has been discussed that if any brave man/woman would have the courage/strength/dignity/will/ ,and I don't know what other words could describe this huge almost extra terrestrial effort, of reading-again ideally- 563 pages imagine what other tips, hints and advice could be found there...

Has anyone gotten one that worked, and kept working?

My Ti hopper has been trouble free for 5 months and I have never cleaned it. Just a little brush out and I also use the charger that came with it. I am bad....; )

Sometimes caring less and just going with it is probably better than being a drama queen on keeping your hopper neat and clean.. :p
I do wish and hope that your Hopper stays operational dude for as long as it gets!!! :)

Ask and you shall receive! It doesn't have everything, but definitely a great resource to start with if you have any issues.... it has helped me alot! Especially the front end screen video!

turns out the GH is a bit less stealthy than I thought.
Don't expect to use this in an enclosed space (blowing clouds out the open window) and get away with it
Just a heads up, I'm home for holidays and thought I could sneak a low temp bong hit in. Apparently it stunk the room up strongly lol. No complaints on my end, but other noses might not agree haha
This should be a warning for all vaporizers. It smells a lot more than you will notice as the user.

IMO Cracking a jar of well cured flower leaves a more "familiar" lingering scent than actually vaporizing it.

This is why I still say nothing can compete with a concentrate pen regarding discretion and portability.

i just celebrated 6 months problem free with my TI. i think i read a few pages back somebody was 10 months in and still going good. it is my daily driver and i don't feel the need to get any other vape at this point.

Do have again problems with one of my ghs... I am playing with the idea that it maybe has to do something with cleaning the front end (soaking it in ISO over night... but this time I also put it on my heating so it will dry... because I have earlier discribed in this thread that I dried one front end for three days and after blowing in it at the side you screw it on the body I saw water escaping at the section of the front end where you draw)... so I can say I have observed a correlation between soaking my frontend in ISO and malufunction of my gh... I want to add that I did not clean the body only the front end...
I have concerns that moister is trapped inbetween the whole pieces in the frontend e.g. screen, copper cone, and this like some plasic looking thing which evaporates and damages heat senor or so...

that is more or less my experience and speculation of this... so take it with a grain of salt...

this vape is really a game changer for me if it works as it should! I have to mention this!

I think you're right about the familiarity of fresh herb
However I'd just introduced my mum to a shot glass full of ABV the previous day, so now she knows what that nasty stuff smells like. I assume it was a mix of that and the faint lingering of fresh herb/vapour that was detected, but for me I thought I'd successfully managed to utilise the window to avoid smell - no chance, one puff was all it took.
If I'm properly trying to be stealthy I use a smoke buddy, which does a pretty good job.

It wouldn't take much aerosol spray to cover the smell, just thought I would share in case someone made the same mistake I did, of over assuming the stealth potential, and getting busted :uhoh::lol:

It's such a stupid thing to be cautious over, I can't believe getting stoned is still illegal here. It's really strange when most of the country is alcoholic, on meth or pills, or embracing lameness on a large scale. Our economy and employment are going down the shitter regardless. There's plenty of stoners per capita but a few more would be nice. A bit of stimulation towards thinking is a great thing, but the double standards are painful

The grasshopper seems like it would fulfill my wildest vape dreams, but besides the wait time to get one, the problems with it seem overwhelming. Has anyone gotten one that worked, and kept working?
At the risk of tempting fate and juju, my SS is on its 7th month of working just as well as it did on day one. Gets a good amount of use too, being my go-to for whenever out and about.

@kbrown5523

I have mine since august and never had to returned it but it has a very hot backend and my battery last one bowl, maybe 10 hits. I also don't use it as my daily driver. I use my E-Nano because I feel it's more efficient for small quantity of herb (denser hits, more control over my vaping session, etc). I would probably use the hopper more at home if it had a power adapter as an accessory like the MFLB.

The hopper is a fantastic beast of a vape. I prefer to have it completely filled (or 3/4). It's so convenient as a portable. If you want you can have monster hits at a push of a button. I prefer more smaller but dense hits. It looks like a pen and an ecig. It's perfect. It does require (for me) to bring a couple of batteries with it but for one bowl, one is enough and they are very small.

Two months ago, I thought my hopper was dead. I tried to vape but it gave me the flashing red/blue light. I tried again and same thing. I changed the battery, cleaned it. Same thing. Changed the battery again, re-cleaned it, blowing into it through the holes more carelessly than usual -since my hopper was basically dead-, then also pulling hard on it without the mouthpiece. And there it worked again. I don't know what did it, but can't help but fell like pulling hard on it without the mouthpiece helped. Let's say I'm doing it from time to time now during the cleaning, since at worst it can only help the cleaning. Since then I didn't have a flashing blue/red lights again. The hopper has been working fantastically before and since then (beside the hot back-end of course). If I lose it, I will have to buy another one because I don't see nothing like it in the market and it's perfect as a small portable on-demand convection vaporizer with a 5 sec heat up time.

Ever since Hopper Labs added the cleaning blog post, I've begun taking two hits after I've dumped out the cooked goods and I am getting large "bonus" hits.

The chamber looks pretty empty when I dump it, so I don't know if it's buildup somewhere within the body or just cooking the oven walls.
