Here's the update on warranty timing,

"We want to update you on our progress with upgrading devices, and what to expect moving forward. We have serviced and shipped 330 Hoppers over the past 3 weeks. In addition, we have just brought on another member to the servicing team which will help turn-around time. Here is the current estimated service time for devices:

Warranty Date Timeframe
Mar-Apr 2018 Servicing Now
May-July 2018 2-4 Months
Aug-Nov 2018 3-5 Months
Dec - Current 4-6 Months"
*********
So, I have one in each of the bottom two categories!
It's turning out that "lifetime" actually is "lifetime minus about a year."
I got the same message today. I’m in the Aug-Nov 3-5 months category too, which has already past. Unless they’re implying it will be another 3-5 months which I would not rule out considering they’ve always dragged their feet since day one (ok, backers and pre-orders of which I’m in the latter camp).

The real question is whether I bother to write them back and ask. It’s really SSDD and deja vu all over again...:peace:

I'm in the Aug-Nov warranty too, so i need to wait 3-5 more months from now on? Really? Already almost 6 months of warranty and i need to wait half year again? (hope i'm misunderstood the timeframe..):horse:

Not sure myself. I sent them a message earlier today asking them to clarify. I’m hoping we’re at the tail end of the RMA window and it won’t be extended much since we’re past their timeframe. Let’s see what they say - it could take days or a week or two to get a reply and clarification.:peace:

Ok so their timeframe is another bullshit .................. lucky enough to have enough vape to forgot this one !! :chill:
Essentially they’re pissing on our ear and telling us it’s water (one of my favorite sayings). SSDD. I’ve come to expect it and take it with a grain of salt.

On a more upbeat note, a buddy loaned me his spare Ti since I’ve lamemted herein and to him that I do miss my Ti. I now have a couple of Furies as my only other vapes, which I really love. The first load, though it was pretty late over last weekend, got me baked! Maybe it was the temp (low 3s), maybe the excitement and novelty of using one in 6 months was a positive factor. However the draw resistance was more pronounced than the Furies and I again wasn’t sold on the overall performance compared to the Furies so the novelty was brief. I did use it several times already - my batteries were all fully charged but some are 3+ years old and others a bit newer - and I went through batteries like water. I’ll enjoy having my own unit back - whenever that is - but I’ll likely relegate it as a backup.:peace:

Indeed SSDD - just received this from HL today about my RMA unit:

“That is the estimation from now. So it will be an additional 3-5 months. We do hope to beat that time frame.”

Obviously their estimation skills are lacking.

We’ll see...:hmm::peace:

I sometimes wonder how many failed units had to deal with drool down into the heater.
Drool? I would hope material would absorb and prevent that from happening, not to mention the convection heat vaporizing it before it even got that far. Not saying it couldn’t happen but slim chance. Interesting hypothesis though. :peace:

I've seen a few units suffer a sneeze, a cough and being tipped over whilst connected to a bong!
They were all doused, but seemingly unaffected after a clean and dry.

Feels very sketchy scraping out wet green though

True, and I see your and @Macicman ’s point. I don’t own glass so it never dawned on me when I replied but many do use glass with their Hoppers.

TGIF to all.:peace:

All convection vapes seem to make me drool :mmmm: I'm guessing more saliva is being produced to protect the delicate mouth cells/skin from the hot air.

My distributor buddy told me to clean out the area behind the screen to help with my issues and it's definitely helping. Was using a fine grind and little particles were building up behind the screen over time. Pulled out the screen with a sewing needle and there was a mound of black debris. I do it once a week to make sure there isn't anything hiding behind there. Now I'm running a coarse grind to limit this as much as possible. Definitely affects flavour, now I'm able to taste when debris is building up and needs cleaning.

Happy to report my V5 body has been functioning since I got it. Don't remember when I got it exactly but it's been months and I go hammy on it. 20x bowls a day plus friends, all through water.

Something else I'm finding useful is no longer swapping my batt(only using stock charger). I just use one now and charge it when needed. This helps keep debris from building up in the back end threads keeping solid contact points which seems crucial for it to operate correctly. I'm using a batt from the last production run and I'm averaging 4 bowls a charge. Not a pro on battery tech but they seem to last longer and hold more charge this way.

My experience is somewhat different. I use the internal charger 99% of the time. I only swap batteries once a week, when I clean the back end threads with BlueTack. I remove residue on the back end threads each time I clean them. It still builds up even though I don't swap the battery between cleanings.

All four of my Hoppers accumulate residue on the back end threads in the space of a single week. It seems like the Ti models that I own accumulate more residue than the SS models, but that could just be my perception.

I had one Ti unit that sat in a drawer for months with no battery inserted, brand new and never used. I cleaned a lot of residue off of the back end threads before I put it into rotation with my other Hoppers.

I love my Hopper, when it works. Sending in my unit for the 6th time for a multi-month wait.

So I ordered a Dynvap 2019 "M" + dugout and a OmniVong-XL and I am building a portside mini in a custom case.

I think you’ll find the Dynavap and Grasshopper compliment each other very well, now I never leave home without either! Dead battery? No prob I got a Dynavap. Out of butane, no prob I’ve got a grasshopper.

I just ordered a lucid custom induction heater so looking forward to that

“Lucid”? Was that autocorrect, or is there an IH heater I don’t know about?

Haven’t used a hopper in forever ...company and customer service still the same ?
Say we pool some money together for Trevor and the brains behind to do a q and a. Like that would happen man though...thinking back when a working unit was around...that sucker pumped clouds out.

Yeah, pretty much the same device in terms of function and performance with the Mighty being my fav due to larger battery capacity and not needing an app.

eh, Mighty is not the greatest taste but what a consistent, easy, extractor.

Glad you are liking your M.
Flavor is not important for some?
We are all different with various exposure to thing’s?
Some grow up with dirt for floors?
Some have carpet?
Some have hardness?
Some chase FLAVOR?
Some chase CLOUDS?
Some need both?
Different strokes for different folk?

The PLENTY taste decent to me?
The portable I imagined had the same Decent flavor?

Some like sock juice and other’s preference espresso coffee?
To each his own?
