I still haven't posted my hoppers away, been busy and keep missing the PO open hours, but in the mean time I've also added one to the parcel ready to go (my friends GH from another city, 8 months old (with old style cop lights, so it still works every now and then, one of many things that has changed as the firmware has evolved, and a little reason I still have a bunch of hoppers here, those sneak hits take some effort but are so worth it on the rare occasion).
We're both keen as mustard to get them back though, and it's been good to read a post or two saying their repaired units are working properly, I'm sick of my EQ, sick of bloody smoking, and it's exciting thinking about the GHs return.
My custom glass order is so ready for the PFE and repaired hoppers and will probably arrive nearly together, so it's played out pretty awesomely for me, though it has been expensive (but not really because of the vapes).
I've also been hitting the MTB trails these last couple of weeks, and let me tell you, my hopper hobby is cheap as comparatively, basically negligible if you ignore the glass expenses and take into account the cross-over possibilities
Even computer gaming costs me more than vaping lol, and I know which one I do a lot more of!
These comparisons eclipse the hoppers cost to upkeep for me (with fire bud and RMA and the devices, and the glass, the GH is overall an affordable and very worthwhile addition to any cannabis hobby), I feel like the hopper is a totally consumerist device (as it's marketed) and relatively any time with it, for anyone interested in what it does, is potentially worthwhile.
No one is telling anything of any real substance here, we are all just offering anecdotal experiences in this thread, but to say it's irresponsible to recommend having two hoppers....
I'd fully recommend it if it's a viable option for someone, there's more than the RRP of a consumption oriented device, or a tool, or a recreational machine, or state of the art tech, to be considered in viability for a consumer, and if 300 bucks is pushing the limits for a device that many already vape through that much product a month or two with, then priorities should be sorted.
There's much to be considered and it's all laid out here a few fold-times.
Customers have a range of different disposable incomes, and for many stoner professionals, this is the device of choice. By far. I can't wait to get it back, my lungs can't wait to get it back, my tastebuds can't wait to get it back. Life is better with a hopper, but don't let it get you down when the thing needs a bit of coin spent on it. Many fun things need a bit of coin here and there, and honestly even for international smokers, you can probably easily save the difference in herb usage to afford a couple of weeks away from the hopper here and there too. I get that that's a big turn off for some people, good to be able to identify your own reasoning's.
People posting here paint a picture that is unavailable elsewhere, no need to knock back criticism when there's plenty of available space for it, but the discussion here is entirely cyclic.
Though from what I've noticed, and we should all expect to continue, is the instances of new complaints decreasing per capita as HL evolves.
Don't expect HL to offer services beyond what they disclose in the fine print (no insurance, pay postage both ways if there's a problem with no grace period), and everyone should be happy if they have any awareness into Hopperlife at all (which I firmly believe any owner or potential owner should have before parting with money (fundamentally the reason I offer my experiences), but that's at their discretion). As long as they can handle device downtime that is, which really is simple enough - but that is something to be aware of and ultimately the only major downfall of this device, which has a lifetime warranty to compensate.
I'll be back to comment on the PFE experience and my first 'device repair', I'm expecting both to be a good time, and I'm prepared for anything pear shaped in the future, as realistically that's a very manageable situation that I can easily deal with. Still worth it for me, but I understand that's not uniform.
Buyer beware, and hopperheads enjoy
