Isn't it illegal to mail charged batteries?

Damn, did you have the newer version of the charger?Well, the honeymoon phase didn't last long...
My brand new hopper will no longer charge, after only 3 days of light use. Battery is dead, and when I pop the charging ring on, it blinks red once, then nothing.
I don't have an external charger yet (though one is en route from Amazon) and I don't have an extra battery to try either.
I've tried all the suggestions I could find here on FC, removed the battery, cleaned all contact points with ISO, tried several different USB power sources, switched up the sequence/order in which I plug things in, etc, etc, etc. Nothing works.
Pretty bummed... this thing is fresh out of the box and both the hopper and it's charging cable have been handled very gingerly during its first 3 days of use.
I'm not sure... this GH came from Vape Fiend. It had only one battery– a GHB1 (I think GHL has been including an extra battery free of charge lately, right?)Damn, did you have the newer version of the charger?
I don't think it's a risk to the device in any way. The only potential is finding the charger is faulty, but even still it shouldn't damage the device.I don't think im gonna risk using the HL charger.

How do I determine if I have the newer or older charger?
I guess I have the older one...If it has two cables connected to the ring it is the older version, the newer version has a single cable and a pivoting connection
I guess that too, considering Vapefiends stock and the GHB1 battery included.I guess I have the older one...
I guess I'll wait until my Xtar charger arrives just to make sure the battery is OK, and then file a warranty claim.
In the meantime, no vapor for me Back to combustion, reluctantly
Ugh... I JUST got this thing, and it's already unusable
I don't think im gonna risk using the HL charger. Will stick to xstar. Will it automatically register the battery chemistry and capacity and charge it accordingly? (my charger didn't come with instructions)
Also what type of batteries are they? I know with lithium polymer batteries you have to store them ah a certain voltage
HL send out the batteries fully charged which for storage is about the worst thing to do, half a year fully charged could kill a big chuck of capacity and we don't have a lot to start with (temp will determine how much, closer to 0°c it could be around 15% but as the temp goes up it could be as much as 75%)
This is the problem I have when they sell to retailers like vapefiend as they could be sat a while before reaching the customer by the time customs have hung onto them, luckily they sell fast so at most should only be sat fully charged for maybe a month before reaching the end customer.

which model do you have? How do I set the charging rate of the XSTAR?
btw, I was looking at the owner's manual and along with soaking the mp there's this;Does anybody use ISO on a q-tip (precision or otherwise) to clean their gh oven?
I use plastic and the material can get a bit stuck in there, but a shake usually resolves it.So here's a question for all you Doob Tubin' hoppers:
I definitely want to get some for filling my hoppers on the go but I'm wondering - glass or plastic?
This frequently happens to me. I find that if I unscrew the back end a bit it usually resolves the issue. My brand new hopper will no longer charge, after only 3 days of light use. Battery is dead, and when I pop the charging ring on, it blinks red once, then nothing.
Drinking even small amounts of Isopropyl alcohol can be extremely harmful! It's not the same kind of alcohol that you can drink.Any special brand of IPA? Or just what you prefer to drink?
Good to know that my homebrew seem to be good for the GH too.
GH, you are my brother in taste!
Yeah, I think we got that....but did you notice that your quote said "IPA" (as in Indian Pale Ale) and not ISO? LOLDrinking even small amounts of Isopropyl alcohol can be extremely harmful! It's not the same kind of alcohol that you can drink.
Where do you get your info?
This is completely untrue. There is nothing wrong with sending out fully charged Li-ion batteries for storage purposes. It has no adverse effect on the cell's capacity.
one advantage of lithium is the fact that fully charged cells can be stored for long periods of time due to their very low self discharge rate.
