Discontinued The Grasshopper

Vapour RebeL
I was vaping from a crafty over the weekend... maaaan, this thing takes too long before you can hit it. Nice taste and flavor, but the time was ridiculously long. The taste comparing the one with Lotus though is nowhere near.. I can imagine that the same will be with the GH as well (fingers crossed but from what I've read so far)

weirdly glad it does not outperform the EQ because then its not going to outperform my Enano and make it sad and lonely :D

but judging by the videos I seen off the Grasshopper, the it is a beastly portable for it size and also convection is awesome

sadly I dont want Crafty because that stupid smartphone feature (dont own smartphone) and the Mighty is way too big and ugly looking for my taste
It's just ridiculous for its size. It amazes people completely unfamiliar with vapour, I think beyond any other device currently out there.

It's flavour is just too good, so anyone who doesn't vape, or has only tried vaping with some random unoptimised set-up, is instantly mind-blown.

I also agree about the phone app coupling - It's totally unnecessary.
The bud I have at the moment tastes incredibly like passionfruit, and so hitting a bubbler at 2, and then slowly sliding the dial up step by step to 5 during a long 40 second extraction is sublime, and basically how you naturally use the GH if you are doing a desktop hit (or kitchen bench or tree branch). Using a phone app to do this would suck, I wouldn't do it, and I'd be missing out.

Hi. How does the GH compare to the FF2? I'm very interested in both but I can't decide. I like good flavor and don't really session vape...just occasional hits spaced out over an hour or so but I also would like something that can be shared between a few people. Thanks;)
FF2 can't be connected to a bong and it does look like a vaporizer. even more so when pre-loaded herb can be seen trough that round window. this is as far as i'm concern. if vape aint no stealthy for on a go purposes. or it is not a bong connectable at home, than that vape is not for me. even more so if it is optimized trough a smart phone app, quite a problem if having no smart phone. better don't use those! government spying everything trough those devices in these days!

the biggest con for a GrassHopper is its waiting time if you pre-order, IMO. and it got smaller chamber and not so easy cleaning as FF2 do.

maybe you are looking for other criteria, who knows...

Increasing temp during a draw is one of the unique GH features I'm looking forward to experimenting with...when it eventually ships.
It's very enjoyable for sure, if you're using a water pipe you can watch the difference in the vapour as you drag. It's very responsive. Once I've started a sesh though, hitting glass at 5 is the way to go from the fresh pack, it has it's own flavour signature too (compared to a different temp level).

Just tried a kiff sprinkled load. 10/10 damn

have you tried a pollen press for preparing a kief? that is a very nice solution how to handle that holly but sticky powder. i just clean out my down section of dee grinder time after time. and putting all that material into dee press. after 24 hour of pressing kief is getting rock solid. so you can chop it in small pieces and keep storing in grinder's kief chamber. when i make my Arizer bowl i put some herb from that grinder, then a bit of kief chunk, and then sandwiching it off with more herb! what a bomb this is. both, flavor and potency.

i think this could be done with GH even better. because of a bigger herb chamber

I have not tried a pollen press. I think that would be a dangerously potent dosage haha.
I have just got a ceramic non-stick SLX grinder, it has a pretty fine screen, and it just yielded a small amount, enough for a hit but not for a press. It's got me good though.
Mistake I made was I didn't put any bud ontop of it, I did compact it down a bit in the chamber though, none-the less, it did the trick.

somewhere in the house is an 1gr kief press I lost last year that is full of kief and I am starting to think its in one of those boxes we packed last fall ... and left at Red Cross drop off point

I loosely fill the chamber about half way and have put in a small puck of compressed kif or bubble hash. Then I top the chamber off with more dry herb to protect the screens on both sides from clogging with hash. Works wonders!
tnx! this is very happy to hear. :) me also like to sandwich some goodies

@Hjalmark

i feel for ya, man!

but on dee other hand, very generous gift to Red Cross! a Medal of Cannabis is needed for deeds like that!

I had the pleasure to hold a Hopper in hands today but was not able to try it :(

It's smaller than I thought! The diameter seems larger on the pictures. So the whole pen thing really works imo.

Question to the lucky owners: How's the draw resistance on this thing compared to a "milkshake vape" like the Arizer Air?
It is very free flowing if you don't overpack it. If you have put too much material it will restrict the draw. I would say it's free flowing like my Mighty of the material is loose. It works really well with loose material as it leaves it evenly golden brown. Why couldn't you try it though? I would've of let you try mine.

There's some restriction to the airflow, but it's all due to the air intake through the 8 holes before the heater. It bottlenecks the rate to allow for the heater to keep up with the airflow. If you've ever used an E-cig with multiple intake holes though, 8 is actually more than normal, so it's pretty good. It definitely restricts a bit of perc action, but it is far from a milkshake experience.

Ah, sounds good :) A milkshake draw resistance would be a showstopper for me.

Couldn't try it because it was a shops sample unit to show their customers what to expect.

Thanks for letting me try yours tho

I just tried mine through my bubbler, started at about 4.25 on the dial on the first hit and then stepped it up to 5 for the last two hits. So I filled it up and cleared it in 3 pulls. The first one was not as white as the last two but makes sense since it was at a lower temperature. I hadn't tried it through water at that temperature effectively until now. I could taste the flavor for once.

I used mine through a HT today and I can get completely ripped off 4 hits. Easily higher from less.... and way quicker than any other combination of setups I currently own. I have rachetts WP adapters for mighty and herbalizer also. Eyes watering and all after coughing my ass off!

Yes, thank you. That helps allot and gives me some things to think about.

Its so enjoyable watching the FC forum compare to Reddit over the Grasshopper rather insane waiting time but I think I fall in the later group that is basically doing this >>>> http://www.wikihow.com/Design-a-Baby-Nursery while we are waiting for their grasshopper babies :D

going to get a tiny crib with usb outlet and a changing table with a grinder, avb jar and weed jar, then a rocking chair to send me and the grasshopper to sleep every night

I would recommend buying a case for it in anticipation. I still don't have one and noticed there's a few scratches starting to form on my Ti.
I have been pretty careful with it, but my intention for this unit is to utilise it as a tool whilst keeping my pre-order colour unit pristine and babied.
I have 5 batteries heading my way currently, which I'm keen for.
And I'm taking it on its first cross-state adventure this weekend! Should be good, I haven't even looked at the MFLB after getting the GH. Kills it.

Signed up to the newsletter for his surprise easter sale ;)
But the saving will have to be incredible, because current exchange rates are skewing a very hefty price-tag for any US purchases for me right now :(

I'm also waiting on the HL official SS case. I think that will be quite nice too.
