Have you tried it on 1? I believe I read of potentiometers that were stuck on one setting, but also of mislabeled/misaligned potentiometers where temp numbers as off.

Just tried it! Best results so far! And brown abv with no green, but still not what it could be and I think it could be stuck on one temp. But at least now I can see the potential!

So I think that temp 1 is definitely MAX TEMP and OMFG!!!! WOW!!!! I still can't get the taste off of my smacker! WHITE WALLED my glass with EASE and the cloud with HUGE!

My backend is obviously defective...... but i'm so excited I think i'm already ready to preorder for GH#2!

Also now getting blue/red rapid flashing?

Yup, this is a known issue, my 2nd backend behaved this way, was diagnosed as a miscalibrated dial, felt like there was some difference in the temps but it was essentially stuck on 4. My 3rd backend temp steps beautifully... but has the flashing blue/red issue. Continue to be able to wait past it (heat sensor issue?) but the problem comes up more frequently now and once persisted for a whole day so I put in that warranty request.

All these issues inspired me to get a Firewood 3.0 and learn how to use it - same price point for an awesome, clean, efficient, small-batch-crafted conduction vape - but I still go to my hopper every time it works. The speed and power and simplicity of the hopper is just exceptional in my experience.

Well I think it says something that a not 100% function GH has quickly become my new favourite vaporizer of all time! Not sure I have a need for the Crafty anymore!

So this is on Temp 1, I think it's the only temp that works, and based on ABV is either close to max temp, or max temp...seems like about 200c to me. Product is .1g loose fine grind.

BEST VAPE EVER! It feels archaic to me now to wait for more than a few seconds to get vapour!

Is that the micro-bubbler stem that was originally made for the Solo? With a piece of aquarium tubing?

No its a globe style bubbler with food grade 1/2" silicone tubing.

If I want to clean the terminals on the back end and battery, would I just use a cloth, q-tip or what? Should it be dry or damp? If damp, damp with what, water, ISO? I'm mostly concerned about the back end, I don't want to mess that up, it's so finicky.

Load size is important. About .2 seems to work best. I just fired it up on 3.5. I took a draw for about 5 seconds to charge the load, then took a longer 10 second draw. Doing this produces consistent results so far, big clouds, after 3 long draws (clicking off in between) the load is spent, nice toasted colour.

I would be interested to know how its possible for me to see the LED when I look in the mouth piece when its on? I know the heater is only 4mm thick but I was under the impression it is solid?

I can't even fit .15 in mine. Do you mean .02? Or maybe my scale is messed up.

I use a Q-Tip in light ISO, dry Q-Tip to dry.

My mistake, I just weighed it out and its more like 0.04. Even the 2nd tick pulls some nice clouds from my unit, personally I find anything after the end of the 4th tick to be too hot (the vapour, not the unit) without a water tool. Haven't used the extender at all and see no reason too.

Just tried .2g and couldn't get it to fit without feeling like i'm overstuffing and affecting the airflow/vaporization quality. Ended up probably with .15g and OMG it's the darkest ABV possible without combustion! Hints of it in the flavour too, but like I said my unit is only running on MAX heat.. It's darker than anything my Mighty and Crafty could produce, and on par with a Solo stewing on 7. There must be *some* conduction, just looking at the ABV?

The GH's bong like combustion mimic experience even impresses the ritual for me more than the Vriptech! i put the GH in the same league as my Mighty - portable that is easily capable of desktop vapour, and more!

The EFFECTS on max temp are unbelievable! I'm also not gunking up a cooling unit like on my Mighty, nor is my glass getting boogers on it.....where is the reclaim? In my lungs? The tip doesn't even look dirty, although I haven't put a tonne of herb through it yet, I expected some maintenance by now?

Still no word back from GHL regarding my warranty claim other than the "we'll be in touch", I figured i'd hear back from them yesterday. If I don't hear back today i'll politely reply to Caroline's email, but don't want to be pushy when I know they're swamped. Perhaps they will just automatically mail out a new backend?

SWEET! Guess i'm doing some micro-load efficiency testing today! If .05g and .025 impress me, you can expect videos!

It's possible it's not quite running as efficiently as a perfect-working-order device. I see those police lights in you're video. It's a great video actually, it shows the time and reaction of a power cut to the heater beautifully.
I think you can expect more clouds when that backend is switched out.

I'm so impressed, that i'm preordering a titanium today! I have not had the police lights whatsoever today, and I think they had something to do with an overused overheated GH while being charged. I know I was at the bottom of the barrel for battery life, but this impresses me because even when I get the red rapid blink for low battery, if I turn it off and back on while plugged in and charging, I can just go continue right on vaping!

Is the heater 30w or 45w?

Is there a release date for the Oil Front end? The WPA looks like you can use it with the GH hands free?

Looks like a box of q-tips is a great accessory for cleaning the warm bowl! So easy!

Just tried .05g and .025g and both blew me away! Cloud city, effects more than I could imagine, I just can't wait to get the new back end so I can just bring the temp down slightly.

The GH is definitely a game changer as I mentioned before.....starting to think it's a LIFE changer too!

Glad to hear you're finally getting some good clouds biohacker. You must be wrecked with it being stuck on temp 5 though!

Thanks bro, welcome to FC and the GH thread! I think we are all in for quite the ride, as has been attested by many other happy GH owners here! You're right, why do you think I keep bringing up the EFFECTS of this vape? lol My tolerance is high, and I was planning a break....but, along came a grasshopper that just fell into my lap! GH is a tolerance killer!

How does the flavour compare to the mighty/crafty? I hear the vapour is a little warmer but has a better taste? Shouldn't matter as I think when I finally get one it's gonna be primarily used with a water pipe.

Water pipe usage is so fun with this little pen! The clouds are so impressive, but honestly I cannot report much in terms of flavour country due to my limited (stuck) high temp setting. I did from time to time experience lighter vapours as I tinkered trying to figure out the back end, and yesterday had an extremely flavourful massive cloud! I'm sure others will chime in on flavour, but I have a really good feeling about it! The temp that mine is stuck on now is simply too hot, and the flavour isn't really that great, with ABV getting over browned. Not really fair for me to compare to the Mi/Cr at the moment, but other than the first hit, I never really cared for its blended herby tasting vapour that much anyway. The CU's smell like shit after just a use or two, and I think that ruins the flavour.

Just busted out my new Crafty....1m:45s to get to 180c from 18c.......and the GH takes 5 secs to get to MAX! Game changer!

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I’ve had my grasshopper for a few months and I thought I’d share my views of it here. I currently have a dark grey titanium and I use it as my daily driver.

Needless to say, I’m completely blown away. I’ve owned a few other vaporizers before but none like this. The heat-up time is what really sets this thing apart because it lets me use it anywhere, any time. Walking the dog? No problem. Standing in line outside a club on New Year’s Eve? No problem. About to walk into Starbucks? No problem. You get my point. Even outside in the cold, where other vaporizers have trouble, this thing shined. The heating element is ridiculously strong on this thing. I’ll usually use it at 3-3.5 for stealth and 4 when I’m at home. Any more than that and it’s too much for me. I’ve always been a bit of a lightweight.

I usually pack my grasshopper about half full (Not sure as to the exact amount of bud I use. I don’t have a scale), cap it, and turn it on to a higher temperature than I intend to vape at. I take the first hit at this higher temperature to prime my bud and then start hitting it at my desired temp. I’ve found that when I do this I don’t need to hit it as long or as hard to get the same amount of vapor. The flavor is like no vaporizer I’ve ever used. Cleaning is no big deal. Pretty easy, just drop the cap in iso and I put the body in a cup with some iso up to pretty much where the border of the herb chamber and the rest of the body meet. I’m always paranoid when I do this since I tend to be a bit of a cluts when I’m high.

Overall, I’m very happy with my grasshopper, however, you’d be stupid to not acknowledge some of its shortcomings. First off, it does get very hot with extended use. Not so hot that you can’t touch it, but definitely very uncomfortable. I think I’ve only ever used the silicone mouthpiece once just to try it out. People say you don’t feel the heat at all if you put your lips a little bit farther back on the mouthpiece. False. You feel every bit of it but, like I said, it’s just uncomfortable, not painful. The heat only usually comes on at the tail end of the session As a result of this, the grasshopper is definitely not recommended for group usage. The only way I can see you using it with a group of more than 2 other people is if it’s cold outside, as the cold air will cool down the mouthpiece. The vapor itself can also get quite hot after extended use. Another issue is the herb chamber. I found that it’s a little bit tricky to pack the herb just right.

Some concerns of mine:
1. If there’s no bud in the chamber I can see the light from the heating element. Anyone else a little concerned about stuff falling through the screen? I'm a little concerned about this when cleaning. I didn't think of it the first time but I just stuffed an alcohol wipe into the chamber and let it soak. Nothing happened, but I don't want to wreck something by doing this too often.

2. My other vaporizers could consistently get my bud to a dark brown. However, I have not been able to do that with the grasshopper. The bud is usually significantly lighter than what my old vapes did but still significantly more brown than fresh bud. Am I doing something wrong here? Is it because I don’t vape past 4? This is my first convection vape. Could this be a result of my old vaporizers all being conduction?

Sorry for the long post. Thanks for reading!

If your using 99.9% ISO I see no issue. In fact you could probably submerge the whole GH in 99%. That stuff just evaporates and should leave nothing behind. I have cleaned electronics boards with 99% ISO. So don't worry if some has dripped in.

99% iso? I think the strongest I've ever seen at CVS is 91%. That's what I've got. I'm guessing you order the 99% online?

Not sure about in the U.S., but in Canada Costco sells 4 packs of 99% for $10 (which is like USD$5 lol)

Looks like it's a wrap for my Crafty (with only 2 hours)......GH = Crafty Killer!
Just wait until you have like 3-4 batteries. Turns the grasshopper into a mobile Evo ! They decided to go with first class so it won't be until late next week!if I didn't have all these cool vapes I'd be going crazy for that hopper !
Makes me think of that dish Comercial lol

Heater is 30w but pushes to 45w as necessary when drawing. Back to back hits will allow some conduction from the hot metal of the chamber in a small device. Used more on demand it is pure convection.

Nothing about oil front end or wpa, as far as we know they haven't even started on them at all. Any images are just concept renders so can't make any judgement on them.

Use while charging needs some kind of charge, its still running off the battery, just while the battery is charging. It is not pass through power

They said not to submerge the whole Hopper in ISO, just the chamber tip and mouthpiece

Precisely! I just used it the way I am supposed to, and the ABV was much lighter! I also didn't use a water tool, and just hit it dry as much as I could tolerate. Love this style of vaping! BING BANG DONE!
