Has anyone else noticed
honey oil gunking up the metal mouthpiece when using the silicone mouthpiece with waterpipes? It's easy to take a qtip through
but kind nasty
It's interesting how the clicking noise comes and goes. I didn't hear it at all yesterday but it's very audible today. I didn't use it without glass yesterday so maybe the noise of the water drowned it out. On waterpipe use - there is some dankness. I walked into my girlfriends room this morning and could tell that she had ripped it. However, that was on 4.2 or so through a waterpipe. Also, for those who have oil rigs (i think male stems?) just be aware that the glass gets really warm.
Love this thing. Used the FM50S once when I accidentally killed the battery. If you use too much it takes maybe 30 minutes to really utilize the passthrough charging. Otherwise it gets the low battery lights while charging. While I'm on the subject, I asked support about how to keep the battery most alive, and about methods of charging. Caroline asked Trevor about the battery and the reply was "it is best to keep the battery between 40-80%, though there is no easy way of knowing what that is." They also mentioned the Grasshopper will charger faster from an iPad brick than an iPhone brick, for those interested.
I mentioned I top off the battery to them, per someones suggestion here (it's nice anyway because I keep it ready for on the go). I've started getting it fully charged, then taking a hit or two on temp 1 or 2. Since I'm not using it at class, I make sure it isn't on the charger to keep it around 80%.
A while back I think I posted a link to a tamper/reamer/scooper. The reamer is the only useful bit, maybe the scooper to pack it down but otherwise moot. I use the reamer a lot though. Anyways, that tamper came with a leather case.... Which happens to fit perfectly with the Grasshopper! Lol, I didn't really want the leather case but now I have that option. Either way, on wood and carpet there have been no marks made.
This thing is a cloud machine, people are not kidding. So far the only thing I'd say I haven't figured out is when it's actually toast. I use this as a session vape it seems, but at a certain point I'm not sure how much vapor 5 should be putting off. I think I'm used to the FM's 415 setting making all my herb daaark brown. But this is all mostly golden darkish brown. It looks like a leopard pattern a little bit. It also seems that the very front is always slightly lighter than the rest of the chamber. I always draw for about 8 seconds after I turn off the unit to give the heater a break.
On packing methods, scooping with the sheathed end of the mouthpiece about the amount you want to fill the chamber, I cement roller it in. It's amazing. I did it last night in pitch black at 3 A.M. I found this morning that nothing had been spilled - so literally you can pack this blind. That said, my pinkie is slightly too big (relatively small hands as well) to fit in the chamber so a reamer is nice to pack it down. But... Does anyone know of the "Space Pens" that were sold at Staples and probably other office supply stores ages ago? I have one, and it is a perfect tamper for the chamber. So I use that sometimes if I have more than 4 friends trying to pass it around with a waterpipe. I was kind of hype when I realized it fit though. Hopefully someone here knows what I'm talking about so I don't sound like a crazy person
Sorry for the long post, I just have a lot to say after to years of speculating and finally ways to answer it. This thing really is great. It's so sleek... No issues with insomnia since I have gotten this baby.
