Without having concrete confirmation of this, I'm just gonna make a relatively safe guess that it's too late in this process for them to add local temp control. They've already started marketing photos of finished product (promising more very soon), even the prototype I'm testing has been superseded by a newer version (the pix don't quite match!) and the final pieces they are asking me to play with involve firmware changes to the app heat settings. These can still be tweaked in the final stages of the product because the FF2 can accommodate firmware changes at any time, from what I can tell.
The good news is this theoretically makes it easier to enhance settings on existing products already in the hands of users. (Better to do an app update to fix or add settings than sending it back, right?
) Plus I've found at least three of the settings can be used for 80% or more of a bowl, making the app use less urgent or even necessary in all cases.
I agree that in a perfect world you could change these settings with a button on the FF2. I just don't think that's in the cards at the moment. So I'm gonna play the hand they dealt us, and hopefully enjoy it.
