Ok, I just wanted to report that I now love this vaporizer using the screen method to keep the herb down next to the screen. I actually had considered using a screen instead of the concentrate pad before, but after @FLMan420 suggested it and reported success, I gave it a try. Now I have the portable e-Nano I was looking for for microdosing. I like to vape very small amounts of .020g. But in order for this to work, I need to be getting nearly 100% extraction.

Now, after this, I took the ABV and put it in my well heated e-Nano (@6.5) I got vapor for one hit, but it was barely worth it. It was a very empty hit. Like I was just toasting the herb to a dark brown without much benefit. Similar to the results @mitchgo61 reported. So, by my estimation, the FF2 was 90%-95% as efficient as the e-Nano, which in my book, is darn close enough!

Glad to see the screen worked out for you.

It did!! I'm very happy about this. Thank you for the motivation to finally dig through the drawer to find a screen and try it! I'm going to try cutting a piece for the mouthguard screen as well, as you suggested.

Have you tried this with both batteries, just to rule out the possibility you have a bad battery? (Also a good way to work around this problem...keep the second battery charged in case of the first one going dead. You won't have a usage issue, and you'll be able to document whether or not it's the battery or the unit.)

I haven't tried boh batteries yet because I wasn't sure if it was safe. I don't know if the draining is good or bad for the battery and wasn't sure if the issue was in the vaporizer itself or the batteries so I decided to wait until they answer back.

Still waiting after 4 days, not the kind of customer service I was expecting from a company that has been around for years...

The other thing worth documenting: take the battery out of the FF before leaving it idle, and then replace it right before you use it. When I've done this, there is no issue at all...curious to see if this works the same for you. (My takeaway: whatever "drainage" occurs, it only happens with the battery in the FF, not when it's removed.)

I will try this to see if it works, but I want an unit/batteries that doesnt have this problem. For me it's unacceptable to have a vaporizer with this battery life and/or having to be all day taking in and out my batteries every time I want to use my vaporizer.

As I've mentioned before, I've had similar situations to the metrics you described. But, the same battery and FF, a day later, will last like five days before going dead. So it's not consistent, and for me anyway, given I always have a second battery charged, not really an issue at all. But it is puzzling and I'm sure FF would like to get to the bottom of it.

Sadly, for me it happens consistenly. I did the same test yesterday full battery at 9:30 in the morning, now 10:45 next day it's blinking red and I got 15 draws from it past night.

As always thanks for your help @mitchgo61, this weekend I'm going to a cab in the forest without any electricity and I will keep testing the FF2. Let's see if taking the battery out while not in use helps...

I was having similar poor battery life too I sent mine in to be tested after only using it for a week and a half and they tested it and found both batteries to be bad and I had poor battery life from day 1 .
so who knows maybe there is a bad batch of batteries?

Thanks for your answer, I will be more than happy if the problem are the batteries and the solution is them sending new ones. My problem has been since day 1 too :(

So what happened in the end for you? They sent you new batteries? How is your unit performing with the new ones?

Totally agree it's not acceptable performance, whether it's battery-related or the unit itself. (I'm also disappointed to hear about CS wait times for several folks...FF really did set the standard for amazing service just a couple years ago, so again I suspect they are a bit swamped by the popularity of the 2, even though it seems to have few issues...I really hope customer wait times go away ASAP.)

Leprechaun's story makes me wonder if this issue isn't really a battery issue after all. I need to pay more attention to my own batts...I'm currently on like day four of one of them...now I just need to watch closely to see if this one is always stellar, and it's my other one that acts badly. I really am starting to think these are battery problems.

Give it a try with yours to see if you can eliminate one of the batts from this behavior. Be great if they could just send you a new battery rather than you having to deal with the pain of sending it in etc.

Good luck, fingers crossed....

Yeah I don't know what's happening with the CS but it's really sad that I haven't got any answer yet. If I was in the US I would have already call them...

I'm charging the second battery right now, hope it's a battery issue that will make everything easier. From tomorrow I'm gonna be 3 days without electricity on the country side, would be amazing if at least the second battery works properly. I will take my Omnivap and my rig/torch setup just in case tho.

Just curious @mitchgo61, it seems like one of your batteries work perfect and the other don't. In the good one, how many hits/days you get per charge? Just a rough estimate.

If you're worried about the price of wipes here's the ultimate cheap FF2 cleaning tip.

Take 1 rectangle of paper towel, fold and tear into 4 pieces, ball up the pieces and wet with rubbing alcohol.

You now have 4 alcohol wipes made as cheaply as possible and you can clean your FF2 using only a single sheet of paper towel. :2c:
I went to Walgreens and got a box of 200 of the small square wipes for like $5. Works great.

So question for anyone here with experience using the Cloud Evo...
I have a Vapir NO2 and now my FF2 (havent picked up the NO2 in a month) and am currently seeing a deal for 20% off a Cloud Evo (280 brand new). Will I regret purchasing this unit for more stationary at home use if I already have a FF2? I love a nice bong rip so I feel like the Evo could be a great addition to my collection! Thanks for any feedback, btw am still loving the FF2 and have decided that my Oring issue is simply visual.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this kind of question but I have yet to get a bad response here!
I have both. I definitely don't feel the FF2 will replace my EVO. I use the FF2 when walking around the house or when it's just more convenient. The EVO is fucking amazing. I could never part with it. ha!

I need to do a more accurate count...but I've used the same battery for the past four days, and probably gotten at least 70 hits from it. (I know when I was testing the prototype I logged close to 80 hits on a charge several times.)

I have been without my FF2 for exactly a month and am expecting it back any day now the only thing I know was they said both batteries where bad and they where replacing them and sending me my FF2 and hopefully I will have no more issues and have a properly functioning FF2 for the first time

I get 7-10 days with one charge and it hasn't ever died, BUT, 2-3 pulls normally per day. One full load of meds last me a 6-7 days typically and never have seen a dead battery, although I may have had one once. I started tracking my usage and keep a running tally now. Battery number 2 is still in the box it came in. Hate to hear about these CS issues, that's pretty unacceptable to me

For instance:

6-24, gsc , .12, mlow, 2-23 11pm
6-25 1-25, 1-20, 1-23
6-26 pax
6-27 1-25 1130p
6-28 2-25 12am medhigh
6-29, 1-23 930p
6-30. 1-25 9p, 1-25 1145p
7-1 FC 2-23
7-2 2-25 1130p
7-3 1-30 9p, 2-25 1130p

7-4, (og SD).12g 1-25, 2-25 mL
7-5 1-25, 2-30
7-6 2-25
7-7 1-25 2-25
7-8 mH 1-30 1-25
7-9... Pax2
7-10 1-30 1-25 , cashed out

7-11 FC, .12 OG 1-23
7-12 2-25
7-13 2-25,

GSC= Girl Scout cookies, .12grams, started on med low setting. 1-25 equals 1 pull for 25 seconds. FC = full charge

All of this makes me wonder if I need to send them my batteries now. I consistently get no more than 2 bowls from a battery. I wish I could just send them the batteries to test instead of my whole unit.

edit: I really just don't want to deal with their customer service right now.

I don't see why you can't just send them the batteries...they can test them without your unit. Have you asked them about this? Give it a shot...at this point it's exactly what I would do in this situation.

Hello all,

Sounds like maybe bad batteries but wanted to offer one suggestion. As someone who hasn't had any battery issues, and I do leave the batt in unit when not using it, I always close the app and turn off bluetooth on my phone. Close app so not running in the background. I usually do this immediately after setting the temp unless I know I'm going to be "climbing the ladder" .

I'm wondering if this might be a factor in better batt life? How do some of y'all treat the app?

@mitchgo61 @toked23 thank you all for your answers and giving me hopes I really like the flavor of this vaporizer and have learned how to get the ABV coffee brown as I like, will like to keep it but need the battery to perform properly. I already charged both batteries and both are out of the FF2 until I arrive to the country side tomorrow afternoon. Let's see if the 2nd battery works properly and lasts for the weekend!

Also have good news! FF2 contacted me and asked to try the second battery and a few questions for the warranty. Has been 4 days waiting but at least they have been nice and things seems to go in the right direction. Will let you know if I have any problem being in UK...

Crossed fingers mate! Let us know how it works for you, it seems like there is not a lot of people having same issues as us.

@The Natty Leprechaun hope when you receive

Anyone managed to get one to England yet?

Not to England, but there's one in Scotland ;)

I never turn off the Bluetooth or remove battery. I do however almost every time get the false constant green lite. I give one of the buttons a quick 3tap and then it functions as normal. Other than that, I do nothing. Usually even after 6-7 days the app and ff2 tell me it's at a full charge(no chance on that). Only once in the very beginning have I ever seen it show me less than full. I've had it for about 6-7 weeks

Serial Vapist
I got my FF2 on Tuesday. I honestly hate it, and I was sooooo excited. I pack it, take a very long drag and blow out almost no visible vapor at all. Then just about every drag after that gives me no vapor. No matter what temp I am at I cannot create any sort of vape cloud. I see the heating element glowing, I have the lid on properly. I have only tried flowers. I can put it on concentrate mode and not even burn my material. WTF? The thing still gets fairly warm to the touch. Air leak? Bad heating element?

And no, I am not new to vaping. I have what I consider the best vape ever made (The Fogger AKA Dawsonator AKA Evolutions and OEM to SuperVapzilla: the former HT Invention of the
Year, 2X HT Vape of the Year) that most of you never heard of. It is a convection vape, with a ceramic heating element and a fuzzy logic heat controller. The thing rips like no other. Nothing compares. The Volcano does not even come close. And I have never singed bud in the 8 years I have owned it. Never, because it is just not possible. Anyways, it being a convection vape I am very familiar with the heat up period before real vapor is produced. Essentially I was hoping that the FF2 would be the handheld version of this beast because they are so similar in design and function right down to the presence of a temperature controlling algorithm.

So am I just so vape spoiled that the FF2 just seems like rubbish to me or is there something wrong here? I already got an RMA from the merchant and now I do not know what to do. I want to see visible clouds. No, not smoke dense clouds, but nice dense vapor clouds. I am afraid that maybe my expectations were too high so a replacement would complicate things in the event that this product is not for me after all. But the other part of me really wants a fully functioning unit if this one is in fact a dud. Refund or replace?

Disregard my last post. I now have first hand knowledge that turning off bluetooth has nothing to do with the battery glitch. I just picked mine up, it started to heat, then red dead. Last time it read 3 blue blinks when I put it away. Also it had been 4 days since I medicated.

Took out battery, put back in, back to 3 blue blinks and blasted off at 420 degrees. Its a glitch.

Makes first app update might fix? BTW @toked23, they know about the green light thing at Firefly, and claim will be fixed with first update, which soon be close, right guys? I think couple weeks ago they said 3 to 4 weeks before an app update.

On the upside, I DID get properly and profoundly, uh, medicated.:leaf::leaf::rofl::leaf::leaf:

Does the unit medicate you properly?

FF2 is a medication machine. It medicates very well. Did I say medication? :rofl:However, though capable of clouds, I would NOT call it a "cloud machine"

I'd keep it though, see if it grows on you!:bigleaf:

Try take out put back in. I think it's a software issue that will be fixed. Just a hunch.

Sounds like an air leak. You should be browning a packed bowl but good on the concentrate setting.

1. Make sure the mouthpiece is on tight.....try pushing it against the body of the FF with your thumb. Sometimes it's off just slightly.

2. Do you notice any draw restriction? If not you probably aren't getting a good seal. I hesitate to open this can of worms but try squeezing gently on the lid while drawing. If you get vapor this way, there's a lid issue somehow.

3. Make sure you really are drawing for like 10 seconds, not just 5 or so. Some people have varying ideas of what a long draw is.....but at least ten seconds is what the FF needs.

Good luck, let us know what happens....

First thing, like others state, are you getting any medicinal effect at all?

Set to High and draw slowly, and if you have a florescent light, try to release the vapor clouds under it to see if any vapor is being produced.
Nobody accused you of being new to vaping, but you are new to this device....so it might take a little to get it down.
Did your material brown at all?
Hopefully you don't have an air leak with your lid.

I am not sure if they can test just the batteries alone what they told me was they used certain test batteries on my ff2 and everything worked fine then they tried my batteries and they where found to be no good so I think they need to narrow down all the different possibilities between the charger, ff2 and the batteries to properly diagnose which is the malfunctioning part.
But that is just my guess maybe they can just test the batteries but if you send in just the batteries you can't use the ff2 without batteries anyway so you might as well send the whole package it sucked being without a vape but I bought a E nano to use while I wait for my ff2 to get back so as long as you have a backup vape send it in
I wish I had the E nano before I sent my ff2 out . I had to cut down on medicating a lot since combustion was my only option at the time but hopefully I can say FuckCombustion for good

Sounds like a bad lid. Does your lid firmly pop into place? (It actually makes a "pop" sound when perfectly placed.) If the magnet is weak, it won't consistently create an airtight seal.
