I wonder if filling the inside of the omega with balls and caping off the flat end with a screen and then letting heat soak with the fan running would improve anything.

Would this be for the purpose of cooling the vapor, or increasing thermal mass to apply more heat to the herb?

The later, to increase thermal mass and turn the omega into a kind of injection chamber like what some ball vapes use. Full disclosure though I do not own any ball vapes and am not super familiar with them but have done some research on how the cheap diy stuff works.

I'm not sure it would work with the herb being under the balls pulling through them. Pretty sure that the hot air from the balls has to be pulled through the herb, not pull the herb smoke through the balls.

Would have to get a way for the herb to be on top and still attach a whip or glass to it, and really nicely secure basket screens on both sides and use the megaadapter with screen Just in case.

Leaving the fan on at a high temp gets the steel HOT, adding balls and putting the herb on top could be worth a try. But really the kit as it is provides a really even extraction all the way through once heat soaked so it may not be worth the squeeze.

What I've done is put the standard basket screen packed with herb directly on the heater core, under the F/F adapter (stock, DDave, Ebay, whatever you may have) and gotten good results that way. The issue with the XQ2/Extreme has always been that the heat source is too far away from the herb, not that it doesn't get hot enough.

Omega with Ti pinner mouthpiece

Update on dialing in the omega kit, Constantly handling glass got kind of old so I was thinking of possible mouthpieces. Looking at the trww Pinners gave me some inspiration to try shoving an old titanium concentrate taster through the rubber fat mouthpiece tip and sure enough it works!

Its been awhile since dug out the big conesseur bowl so was playing around wth it. After getting tired of the whip I had an idea. First I shoved a elbow basket into a 18mm mouthpiece.

Then at the end of the mouthpiece was put a pinner.

This thing is cool!!! Really nice piece that delivers potent sips. Packing he elbow screen works well. I can pull out the pinner and insert a balloon if desired. Overall really happy with this make shift direct draw device for the bigger bowl chambers.

Hello fellow EQ users. I wanted to share my current build with all of you. I hope you enjoy, maybe someone out there will be inspired with an idea or two.

So to start with, heres 3mm synthetic ruby vape balls over ceramic heater cranked up to max 500f. The glass adapter is from DDave its the tall 14mm from one hitter kit.

The herbal extraction chamber device is a weird chimera made up of an ss omega wand vapcap body, a modified dynavap rubber tip mouthpiece, and a diy herb cooking chamber at the very end.

The extraction device is inserted into the oven. The herb chamber makes direct contact with the ruby balls.

Finally some glass on top. Arizer solo stems fit well.

It took a lot of time figuring out what I liked and wanted out of the eq. When I began with it a year ago I could have never fathomed this kind of build. So glad that it was possible to turn it into a powerful microdosing direct draw device. Its pretty good.

I have been further experimenting with putting ruby balls on top of the EQ's ceramic heater core while turning the device up to 500F max temp.

I wanted to understand how adding the balls effect draw and heat. Also, How many balls does it take to get maximum extraction right before combustion?

Covering the ceramic unit with one layer of 3mm ruby balls gets close to that sweet spot of completely blackened extraction right before combustion.

If the bowl combust, add 5-8 balls and wait a minute ot two for them to heat up.

It absolutely does make a difference. The extraction is improved greatly. The airflow is much less airy its so vaporful now I'm hitting big rips like crazy. It feels like I'm getting every bit of vapor out of my bud possible. Wow.

I'm glad I tried this. Its one more piece of the puzzle in making the EQ a real power house.

After two hits the entire bowl is cooked black all the way through. As I hit I can feel the vaapor air heat up to just the right point and stay there allowing me to draw as long as I like to really get the whole bowl cleared. Its an experience hard to explain with words and I'm baked lol.

I will try the stock bowls out sometime if I can figure out a good way to get the balls under the filters.

Treated myself to a new orb v3 from vgoodiez and a goo-roo hookah hose for the holidays. I think the orb form factor is awesome for functionality and visuals.

I prefer using it dry. Watching the turbulant vapor whirls move as it milks up the sphere. When it comes to microdosing its a good way to seehow much vapor you are extracting out of a small bowl. The carb/ secondary intake is a nice feature as well that gets used often to clear out the sphere.

If you were interested, the ddave 14mm omega wand extracts approximately one full milky orb worth of vapor.

The teeny dose pinner insert I made out of a nectar collector makes approximately 2/3 full orb worth of vapor.

I haven't tried the big 18mm omega wand yet I expect it to really milk the glass.

I'm grateful to be here able to talk about my experiments with the few other people on the planet who care about this stuff. If my writings can help make a small improvement in some peoples experience with the EQ it will be worth it. The EQ is a solid device done dirty by the stock parts. Thank you @Rodney for taking the time to read through my writings and give a reaction on a lot of them throughout the year. It helps keep me motivated to post.

It's incredible how good this Goo Roo glass mouthpiece is. From a value-for-money perspective, it might be the best upgrade I've ever made to my set up.

The glass handle and mouthpiece part itself really is a step up. Absolutely great form factor. I personally prefer a small carb to thumb on somewhere but its great as is.

However mine came with some cosmetic damage a chip on the 14mm insert and some scraping on the mouthpiece glass. It wasn't worth sending back for tiny imperfections so I got some sweet store credit out of it at least.

Oh and the black latex hose it came with smelled and tasted horrible like latex medical gloves. I had to wash the pieces to get the latex taste out and use the standard hose vgoodiez sends with the orb. Wtf goo-roo where did you source the worst tasting hose ive ever had the displeasure of breathing through?

Yeah, the latex hoses went straight in the bin. When one broke in transit and they had to send a replacement I told them not to bother with the hose.

For such an amazing mouthpiece, it's crazy to me that they've gone with the worst host solution available.
