I'm just wondering what the general thoughts are about the item? I'm really keen on purchasing one, so how is everyone liking it? Or should I look at a different item? This thread is becoming huge and am not keen on reading 111 pages (so sorry if this has already been asked) But all these later pages seem to be about people having trouble with them.

Main question is: Would you purchase it again if yours broke, or would you look at something else?

I'm very happy with this vape overall. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend one to someone and have done so regularly. As long as you learn how to elbow pack, you're golden. If you only used the cyclone bowl, you might walk away unimpressed.

Thanks for the heads up man, What do you mean by elbow pack? (sorry for the noobish questions, no one knows anything about vapes where I live)..

Would you prefer this or the SSV?

Elbow packing is just a matter of weed placement. If you suck the herb like a vacuum into the end of the whip (the elbow-shaped glass joint with the domed screen) instead of simply placing it in the cyclone bowl, this is called an "elbow pack". I find this method to be more effective than using the cyclone bowl as the unit is designed for. I think many would agree here on that point.

I've never tried an SSV, so I can't really comment on that. But I hear it is an excellent unit as well.

I understand that, I can imagine it would work a lot better then packing it.. Might try that the next time I get a chance to vape. Where have you seen it for cheapest that ships INT ?

Can't really help you there. I bought all of mine on ebay from warehousegoodsonline. I don't know if they ship int'l or not.

Elbow pack is about 2 times faster, but also misses the cyclone effect, which cooks the herb evenly. So elbow pack needs stirring (which is not as easy as the cyclone bowl stirring) if you want to vaporize everything. Also it's good only for strong weed, because the elbow screen is about 3 times smaller, than the cyclone bowl. Now I have only some poor quality weed and it's unusable in the elbow.

The most annoying thing about my Extreme is that damned elbow screen. I tried elbow packs when I first got it, and there's no question they work as advertised, but I don't use the technique myself. Primarily this is because after one or two hits on a normal cyclone bowl, I've got an elbow pack anyway. If you are drawing on the whip (as opposed to using the fan) I don't see how you can avoid this. Every three or four hits, I have to remove the elbow and dig it out to get a decent airflow through it again.

I find I have to swap elbow screens every two cyclone bowls because they get clogged. I wound up getting eight or nine of the little buggers in order to avoid having to clean them every couple of days. I don't know if my experience is typical; perhaps it's the medicinal phytosubstrate biomass that I use.

All that aside, I do like my Extreme and this issue certainly wouldn't prevent me from recommending it or buying another.

I just have a container of iso that I let them soak in when not being used they are like new every single time.. since It came with 3 screens I rotate a new one every couple times, the mflb brush works good if extra cleaning is needed.

I just rotate through my two screens, a soak in Simple Green clears them right up.

I have this dilemma too...i have about half a dozen elbow screens, and I keep a few in a jar with iso, the others with the EQ to use as needed. I find myself cleaning them weekly...I aggressively scrape the abv remains from my elbow screens after each use, or at least each evening so i can get 3-4 uses from each one.

I did notice back before i had access to meds from a dispensary, that herbs of lesser quality dont cause this issue to happen as quickly as with the dispensary dank.

Having said that, I've recently started setting out herb to Vape ahead of time, and pre grinding some as well. I thought this would help, having the bud drier, to keep the screen firm getting so clogged. I seems to be helping a little bit, but not enough to account for the effort of setting nug out in a safe place to dry more, and pre grinding.

I use an elbow screen for about a week then usually change it out. Granted, I'm not vaping all the time, I do combust pretty much equally as much. I have ~8 of them as well and keep them on a rotation, especially when I'm vaping a lot, it's good to switch them out every other day. Yes, I'm getting heady nugs consistently

I would recommend the EQ in a second, and I always do to people. I love it, it's my favorite vape I've ever hit (and I've hit the 'cano). If you want to know more about certain things you should search through the thread. Most of us didn't even search and just read through all the pages, it's well worth it

I used Cyclones before I bonged and agree with pak about the elbow getting clogged. And I agree with Theo the Q is a killer vape but its Achilles heel was always the screen system. Both screens have drawbacks you're all aware of so I won't elaborate. I ISO my elbow and screen every day or so and have four in rotation. As soon as I spot vapor building up I drop the screen and elbow in ISO. A clean elbow and screen also prevents vape dust from building up in the silicone tube longer.

I hadn't considered that. If you can get along with a light draw then it makes sense that you don't get auto-elbow pack. My whip is longer than the stock tubing to make it easier to share. I'm used to pulling extra hard on that sucker.

Here's what I do. I grind a lot at a time using a 4 piece. It's not quite LB fine but it's great for the Extreme. I keep it in the freezer with some desiccants, so it's pretty dry. I load about .25 g into a cyclone bowl. My wife and I will usually share that over two evenings, during which I will have to dig out the elbow a few times, at least twice a night. If I don't, it gets too hard to pull.

When I reload the cyclone, I swap in a clean elbow screen, so one every .25 g used approximately. I clean them all together in a little bottle with just enough ISO to cover them, 30 second soak, 30 second shake, and then dump the ISO through a filter into my collection plate. I've been harvesting QWISO from cleaning like this for a while, but I've not actually used any.

Have we established that these Ebay sellers are actually authorized? Should I contact Rockwise as to whether it's kosher or not?

If I can get a Extreme Q at that price I'd swoop one up in a second, as I'm very curious how it compares to my other vapes.

According to Arizer, from when i contacted them before my purchase, I was told something along then lines of; "any retailer advertising the original warranty, at below MAP (manufacturers adjusted price), is not an authorized retailer, and your unit will not retain the warrantee as such." my words, their policy

It is covered by the warranty. The only thing that is different is that you have to send it directly to Arizer yourself if there is a problem. The authorized dealers that have a storefront fix them for customers now. So you would end up having to pay for shipping/return shipping to Arizer, which isn't all that expensive. I bought one off ebay and had to send it in for a fix after quite a while. They fixed up it up just fine! They have great customer service.

It's funny, warehousegoods (vapeworld) has listings for the Q ranging from 137ish to 250.

I just brought one from the states from eBay as well. May as well at that price! Pity shipping cost me half the amount of the actual product alone though. :/.. Still, $180 is still a hell of a lot cheaper than the $399 they are asking for it over here is Aus. Might get the SSV within the next month if everything goes to plan. Excited!

Thats what I figured! the EQ for <$200. Sold... I'm still looking at the SSV though, looked at the DBV, but decided I liked the SSV more.

I follow the Solo thread and I don't recall this, not can I find it. Could you point to the exact posts?

My impression was that Arizer will still service units purchased from unauthorized dealers, but the warranty will not be honoured. You'll have to pay.

Pages 3-4. I know more than a few people who have bought from ebay and received service without charge. Their warranties were honored. There are a few posters in the other thread who have had the same experience. It sounds like Arizer is starting to clamp down on who they sell to at wholesale. Apparently they used to sell to anyone who said they were a wholesale buyer. So, you probably won't be seeing these on ebay at heavy discounts in the future.
