So far I have fallen asleep while charging every one of my Air batteries. :(

First time I charged them they (the extra two batteries I got) were very warm, and took 7-8 hours to charge, like they were empty. Every time I have charged them after that hey haven't been warm, but that day there was a heat wave.

I think I'm gonna drop the cash on the nitecore since that apparently stops charging when they are full. Hopefully my batteries are not destroyed, but at least they are fairly cheap.

And I am gonna stop charging batteries when I vape at night. LOL.

Oh well, I got fully charged batteries for Fourth of July!

edit: I 'circumcised' mine at the top and sliced it at the bottom so the bottom can come off and on if that makes sense. That way I can change the batteries without trying to take the whole sleeve off. I like the sleeve since it IS tacky in pockets and the belt clip, etc.

hadn't thought of using the fridge to test, just tested it out, and after the charger and battery both have been in the fridge for a while it's back to charging normally. so seems like it was indeed due to the temp it wouldn't charge.

although it wasn't anything like 50 degrees, don't really know how hot it was but I saw some newsstory saying we officially entered a heatwave around noon since the temp hit 30 degrees, for the third day in a row, predictions yesterday said it might be 40 degrees today(wich would be the highest temp recording since measuring started, around 1900), but that didn't come true.
but it might've been warmer inside, one of my windows is on the south.

I overcharge all my 3 batteries but I have the ariser charger, seems to stop charging when full
At least when I wake in morning they fully charged but not warm
Not too sure why people use different chargers
All my batteries still going by strong
That said 1 battery, when fully charged, will show a white battery indicator first, but when I start again shows green as it should! Only does this sparodicly.bit odd!

I got confused, but if you're talking about charging in the Air it most definitely is safe. It tapers the last 10% or so of the charge smoothly from about .8 Amps down to just under .1 Amps before cutting completely off. Perfect 'right off the charts' protocol. Unless yours is defective (unlikely) of course. I've tested it many dozens of times. And it's faster. I don't have the charger in question, but it's been reported much slower?

While best battery life would come with stopping earlier, both the Air and (all?) aftermarket chargers push it up as far as is safe without killing the battery off still in warranty........

Good to hear, well good to know why.....problems aren't good by definition. Thanks for the feedback. Now you can decide how to deal with it. I bet, for instance, putting the unit in front of a vent for a few minutes (even if just 'fresh air' not A/C) might unlock it. Airflow is going to be very important as you get close to the line no matter how many degrees (F or C) that might be. Forcing warm or even hot air through it cools more (in calories or Watts) than sitting in still air in a cooler room.

Having a spare charged battery can make a huge difference in urgency too, of course.

Glad you got a handle on it. Enjoy the Independence Day Holiday!

Yeah OF thinking about it it's probably OK. I think my charger turns off once full and using the ecig battery charger I have did take WAY longer than just plugging in my air. So maybe it took all night to charge up. Once the batteries are charged the lights turn green and it makes a kinda high pitched noise.

edit says auto shutoff. Hopefully that is true.

Think I will get a 4 bay nitecore anyways, since now I will have to charge at least 3 batteries per day between the mod and the Air.

I really like my Air though, a LOT. The stems are kinda flimsy now and I think my straight stem was cracked, but they seem to heat up way faster than my old solo stem, near twice as fast it seems. Gets near twice as hot too. I thought maybe my Solo was a dog but I used the same stem and it ripped hard. They are probably not as durable, but I like the performance of these thinner walled stems better.

Few reasons...
One is to charge more than one battery at a time, unless you mean the arizer external charger in that case it's a price thing (arizer charger costs more) also charge speed, some chargers have multiple options here normally from .5A-2A (without getting into hobby chargers)

The nitecore is a popular one and IMO setup with battery life and user safety in mind (charging a battery at a higher speed than its rated for is dangerous) also something for nitecore users to consider is that the charge speed depends on how many battery's you charge and what slots they are in (can half or double speed depending on setup)

There are others (xtar and luc are some more commonly used) that give the user charge speed options, but IMO some basic battery knowledge is needed here to avoid any problems.



Also on a different note, IMO any battery or charger with 'fire' anywhere in the name should be avoided, lots out there and IME generally not a sign of quality. (Just to clarify I'm not saying they are dangerous, but are some of the most copied/fake brands out there)

thanks for the tips, but I think my solution is going to be just not to charge while it's hot, and just charge in the evening(still have the UD and VG). luckily heatwaves like these are the extremes, just googled it and apparently the highest temp today was 38,2, while the highest temp ever recorded was 38,6. and it's the 40th heatwave this century, the last one was 2 years ago. the forecast is it will thunder tonight or tomorrow and cool off to more regular temps afterwards.
during those few hot moments ventilation isn't really going to work, don't have any vents available, only a window, and when it's as hot as the past few days I keep my windows and curtains closed during the hottest part of the day, and sit inside in my underpants with wet wascloths on my shoulders, then try to get as much cooler air in as possible during the evening/night. it has also cooled down now(it's 9 in the evening here), so it's still charging now and hasn't stopped since it came out of the fridge.

Just read that post about screen sandwiching. What a wonderful idea. I think I had seen it before but jeeze, now I just want to drop my Nano and eat a screen AA sandwich.
Has anyone experimented with dabs out of the AA? I probably am not going to attempt it, but I love hearing how people come up with ideas. And who knows, if it's good and can be loaded simply, I may try it!

I use an herb sandwich with the Air. I will have a small piece of shatter and roll it around in the herb. Then I will have herb on the bottom and herb on the top in the oven. Most of the time the herb is spent before the shatter. I just add more herb. I do use a screen on the bottom but not on top.

Put some on a bed of cotton. Not too much cotton though! Throw that in the vape and go at it! Just did this with some CO2 oil this morning because my torch died and I was too lazy to drive into town for just a can! Also like Carol said herb sandwiches are good, I think some people have even used cut-to-fit volcano concentrate pads!

I am still eagerly awaiting a report on the Vortex Stubby (how hot is vapor).

Also curious if anyone who purchased a vortex Gong could compare / contrast with regular PVHES gong and or PVHES turbo gong?

Imo I have better luck with the regular gong as opposed to the pvhes for the fact that it adds to much air to my draw is how it feels to me..I have a regular planetvape carbed gong which gives me bigger hits than my pvhes with the notches in the bowl and the grooves on the outer part and I get bigger cloud age with the carbed gong..fwiw I have the carb hole covered up with piece of silicon..

This post is because i'm so bored at my work, still have 2 hours until i finish, wish i had my air with me, to can inhale some fresh air :)

Some days ago i had the opportunity to test the air while working and it definitley makes the 8 hours fly away but i cant do this every working day.
I'd like to read some post here but i think everybody has its own thinks to do.
Any experience with the AA while working? ^^ Somebody? :)

I am a florist in metro detroit and normally work two days a week by my lonesome. During the summer my flower shop slows down a lot. Just as an example normal mondays, during the spring say, my shop will do around 6 to 8 hundred in sales. I expect to do around 2 to 3 hundred today. What this means is that i am a very bored florist today, so the air is with me. Besides getting the day moving, it helps me get creative too. Some of my best designs are made dirrectly after an air session. Using the plastic mouthpiece stem i never get a second look standing out back vaping a stem. I love the stealth factor. When using the air at home i prefer a straight solo stem however. So yeah, air at work is a godsend.

I received my Arizer Air today, it is charging up right now! I have had a Solo for quite a while now and hope the Air will replace the Solo when on the go.

I'm sure this has been asked before in this enormous thread, but the chargers are just slightly different, are they interchangeable?

The Air charger and Solo charger are different (different specifications and plugs) they are not interchangeable.
However the removable batteries of the Air enable the option of using an external battery charger (branded and 3rd party options available)

Received my vortex air gong today.

Does not seem as well made as my original pvhes solo gong. It does fit nicely in the Air though.

Glass work Seems a little sloppy with some marks and there is only one blue glass nub on one side. My original gong had two glass nubs one on each side so it was easy to pull. This one looks like,it might be a problem with all the heat the air generates around the oven and gong. Will try tonight and see how it goes.


This is my first purchase from planetvape where I feel slightly disappointed. My vortex stem and original pvhes gong I loved but this one misses the mark a bit.

I LOVE the Air! From the first use I knew this was it. Is it even better than my Solo? I don't know but it is as good, first time I ever experienced this with any other battery powered unit.

Only issue would be the better charge indication on the Solo, kind of don't know where your battery is at with the Air. But then, I now have reserves (batteries), so no big deal. This is really great, I have tried so many pocket size devices and none have come close to this. Now the only question is which stem, so many choices..

I ordered the mini screens, but in the mean time, a trick I learned is that the end of a AAA battery is the perfect size to form standard screens to fit in these stems. Take the screen centered on the end of the battery and form the sides around it, now stuff it in with the battery. At first the screen will try to pull out when you pull the battery, keep it in there and then jab all around the edge of the screen and it will be in there perfectly.

Hey guys, about to hook up my AA to my bubbler for the first time (don't have an adapter, just using a stem and sticking it to downstem, haha.) I'm looking at some PVHES but theyre just so expensive! How worth it do you guy think it is to get one? I already ordered an extra battery and a 10 pack of domed screens, idk how a PVHES could make this thing much better.

How does it work with the bubbler? Pretty good? PVHES will mainly just be more convenient. Id buy an quality external charger first if it were me (I really like the luc v4), charging two batteries at 1amp at the same time is really nice
