It has come! I can say I'm somehow still shocked at the size despite all the vids and size comparisons. I guess there's nothing really like seeing it in person and holding it in your own hands. I'd post a pic in a little bit but a bunch of people already have. Has anyone shown a pic next to a Pax yet? Maybe I can post a pic of that. Anyone interested?

For all USA owners who have their air, it says signature required on my tracking , if I'm not there will they leave it or take it ?

Mine was delivered Thursday at 10:13 a.m. when I was at work ( a day early). Came home checked the mail didn't see the attempt to delivery slip. Checked tracking online said delivery failed. I rechecked my mailbox and found the darn slip with ten minutes til post office closing. Sprinted over with three minutes to spare. They said they hold the package for five days then if not picked up they consider it abandoned. I still had to sign and fill out my address before I could leave. If leaving a note doesn't work just find your slip and it will tell what post office your package is at.

I photocopy my driver's license and then sign the paper with the date. That always works for me.

Worth a try, and notes work with UPS in my experience, but the postman here didn't bite. They need your 'John Hancock' on their form.

In a slightly different vein if you're OK with handing out photocopies of your license to anyone who might come across it, that too is your call?

I'll opt to taking the required form down the next day (or Saturday morning for you working stiffs). BTW, while they're not happy doing so, showing them your Driver's License and telling them you have a package in the cage will get them to write another chit for you to sign, they're not happy, but they will. Any adult at that address can sign, it doesn't have to be you.

A fun thing happened to me a year or two back, the PO came out of the cage with 3 packages, not one. Seems a substitute found a clever way to speed up the route (never bothered, just turned them back to the cage at end of shift to sit). I can't use the same language my postman used to describe the trouble this caused him. Said the sub had a history of it, but a friend in the Union......

Goes without saying I've been through this more than a few times. PITA, but if you want the gear and they have it......

Not a chance IMO. Signature required means a signature is required (otherwise folks would lie....). This is a clear bust, even the Union can't save you for violating postal regulations like that. Talk to these guys, they ain't risking that gravy job for you or anyone else.

Track your package in the morning. When is states that it arrived, go to the PO, and sign for it, before heading to work. ( the PO has a little side window, and bell for such contingencies. )

I always find it easier on my nerves to do so.

& it saves them an unneeded delivery.

At my PO the trucks leave before the window opens. I get 'sorry, must be on the truck' when I tried to outsmart them (a scary concept.....). Worth a try, maybe. Otherwise the chit system is the official procedure and works well if slowly and inconveniently.

I just took the sleeve off of my unit. It's difficult to remove. Kinda like taking off a pair of Spanx ( kinda like a girdle) I rolled mine down a little ways, making sure the battery cover was in place. I didn't want to break that off. Then I pulled from the bottom. It probably took maybe a minute. I had mine on since Thursday afternoon. I may wait before I put it back on.

I was thinking about buying another color of the skin other than the blue. I thought when the battery dock charger is available I will buy a couple more batteries too. I have 2 now and if I buy 2 more I'll be set.

When you order from Arizer there is a space, a box where you can add any question or statement to the Arizer folks. I just put in the space if I wasn't home to put my package on the front porch. I get home shortly after the mail or UPS is delivered. I was worried that I would need a signature. It's happened before when I thought I was expecting a package and the mail person takes it back to the main post office because I wasn't home to sign. A nightmare having to wait for a package in line at the main post office, especially this time of the year. It was on my porch Thurs when I got home. If you live in an unsafe area I wouldn't suggest that. You don't want to be out over $200+ Because if you opt out for the signature I doubt if you would get another one.

I don't know if I would want to screw the top off and leave it off. The unit gets pretty hot where the stem inserts, at the top portion. It's all metal it would leave pretty bad burn.

Also the unit needs to warm up before you can insert the glass stem. Don't try to force it. I would worry that it could break. It's a very tight fit.

I'm excited I received my Air today. I have it charging up. I will update when I have a chance to try it out. I was suppose to receive it tomorrow. I'm glad it came early. I know nothing about batteries. It says the batteries have fault and heat protection.

I have the blue sleeve on mine and I have a black unit. I have a pic with the Solo and the Pinnacle Pro so folks can see the size compared to the Air. I have it charged up!

Here is a size comparison with the Solo and the Pnp. The Air is a little taller with the stem.
About the same size around as the Pnp. Way better quality and materials.

Just thought I would report that the top vented plastic cap does indeed screw off.

Also my NCR18650B's work perfectly so far!

I asked a few pages back if the upper part can be unscrewed like the solo and someone wrote no......
anyway, now that it is actually removable, can the o-ring trick work with loose stems?? (if needed)

I tried using the orange MNKE 18650 batteries. These are very safe in the E cig world in an unregulated device, and the discharge rating is much higher than the stock batteries. The Arizer air is a regulated device that draws much less power form the MNKE as compared to a mechanical E cig. they are working like a charm and the stock arizer battery is currently charging in the Efest LUC charger as we speak.

OK, here's what the oven looks like 'undressed':

While basically the same in function, the design of part is such that I don't think there's a single part common with Solo (except maybe the wires.....). Not shown are two of the tiniest screws you'd ever like to deal with. Just screaming out for a chance to take a heroic leap into the carpet to await the second coming of Christ.

Be advised that getting the heat shield back over the black threaded plastic sleeve (just under the top cover, at '3 o'clock' in the photo) can try the patience of Job (to slip in a second whimsical Biblical link in one post.....). Very tight fit there, a tiny and well polished burr on the lip of the SS part would dig into the plastic of the sleeve (which also contains the 'lips' in the seal section) and it would refuse to drop over the lip on the top of the sleeve. I fought it for quite a while before I got out the emery paper and got rid of the burr......and the scars on the plastic. Be sure you're up to such stuff if you decide to wade in.

And you have to strip this stuff off to get the works out the bottom it looks like (I didn't go further this time, it might 'come out the top??).

Anyway, the new finish on the SS cup is because it's now a billet machine job, not drilling some holes in a pressed cup. That costs real money. And the 'over the top of the cup, down, around the end of the stem and up' function is now done with interrupted threads on the light colored plastic body (at about 11 o'clock) from the gap between that piece and the sleeve when it's screwed home. Air can still enter from below along with the wires it seems.

IMO a clever rework. Harder and more expensive than the original I suspect, but smaller in OD.

Can't speak for them, but the proof is above. It does unscrew, at least mine does (which explains the random indexing of the slots you see in various photos).

Yes, a similar o-ring scheme might work, but I suggest we wait to see if it's needed with the new seal design?

Nobody except GSH used the force ( Pun intended ) needed to unscrew his Solo Air. ( IMO should be the name )

Not too many wanted to forcefully try and i don't blame them.

@Ratchett do you think it's possible you could create your own sleeve/condom for the air? One that addresses issues like the one @SD_haze mentioned ?
I always like to support our people at FC !

I'm sure it's possible, though I'd need to have access to both a silicone sleeve, and eventually the Air itself once I have the molds. I'd probably prefer to design the part and outsource it for production.

Maybe I'll skip the Solo and jump right into the Air for my next Portable vape purchase.....

The top of mine unscrews without any trouble.

Edit: Tried inserting stem and giving a dry pull with no herb. Restriction wasn't bad at all, although once I put some material in the bowl, it should add a bit. I'm happy that the airflow seems significantly better than the Pax so far, which was a concern for me because I wasn't a fan of the Pax's draw.

I received my Arizer air last evening. I have used it quite a few times since then and I thought I would chime in with my opinion.
It seems to me that the shorter stem and mouthpiece gets really hot on my lips, and is too hot to extract with my fingers afterwards. The slightly longer stem definitely feels more comfortable, but I did try a bent solo mouthpiece in the air which worked perfectly!
I definitely do not detect any draw restriction at all, as others have stated. It feels completely natural to me.
However, that being said, the only other downfall that I can see from the air, and I think it's been said before, that the oven door cover is quite flimsy. At least that's the way it seems compared to my solo. I love the Air, but it's not going to B a replacement for my solo, instead, it will be a nice addition as a sexy looking portable vape that's very discreet and easily transportable.

My experiences in the past had only been with the Iolite, and that was followed by A customer service upgrade due to all the warranty issues, that I aquired the Whisper. After owning an Arizer unit, I feel like the time/money I spent on Iolite was such a waste! As a newbie to vaping I could not even comprehend that a portable vape could produce such quality vapor.That being said, my standards were quite low as I had only tried the iolite. I have not used it in quite some time, but I also remember the whisper mouthpiece getting uncomfortably hot on the lips which turned me off.
Also, I'm glad I bought at least one extra battery to keep on hand, for sure going to stock up and buy more next order, but I usually run two 10 min. sessions back to back, and with this battery that really only allows me, realistically, 2 full 20 minutes sessions , whereas, the solo battery would usually see me through my entire day/evening, and I would just charge it when I was sleeping.
All in all, IMO, the air is 100% compatible with the solo, as I expected, and I was definitely not disappointed as I have nothing but good things to say about the Arizer company and their customer service.
Way to nail it Arizer! Best quality & flavour taste for a portable vape!

I didn't notice the plastic mouthpiece that's attached to the glass stem being too warm at all. I was wondering before I got the Air if I would like the mouthpiece. I'm used to using the Solo, but I really like it. Very comfortable IMO. The glass is too warm to remove directly after using without being extremely careful.

Yeah the short mouthpiece is my favourite method to vape dry. Sleek, nice draw and I don't find the heat to be an issue. I think every has different tolerances to heat, which is understandable, I've been burning myself on hot vape parts for so long it hardly bothers me anymore.

As mentioned previously in this thread, I believe the Air has a similar draw to the newest Solo (someone mentioned Air 80% the draw of the 2014 Solo?). I only had an older Solo with a harder draw so the Air is definitely an improvement.
Coming from the older Solo, the Air is definitely an upgrade: option for multiple batteries you can swap on the go, pocketable size, much easier to pass as an e-cig in public/stealthier, slick new mouthpieces
