Thanks again to everyone here for sharing news of the Arizer Air and showing us this new portable vaporizer.

Mine arrived last evening and I really like it. The Air feels so much smaller and lighter in the my hands versus the Solo (which I am a big fan of to begin with).

My sessions with Air taste great like the Solo, the unit can hit hard or be a sipper both with little herbage apparently. I load the stem half-way or full, depending on what I’m looking for.

So far for me the Blue temp setting is very tasty and great for long lasting sipping sessions, Green temp puts out hard hitting thick vapor especially with a full tube/stem load, and Red temp for full extraction when necessary.

I have been using domed screens in the new Air Glass Aroma tubes similar to my Solo stems. And as it has been mentioned already in this thread, this Air unit has more airflow then the Solo I use (non-current version: MA1 with stock stems).

Here is a video of a quick 5-minute session with the Air stem just half-filled with about .04g using the Green/middle temp setting.

To start off, a tip for those Yanks anxiously awaiting delivery and longing to track it every 10 minutes......you know who you are. It seems the Canada Post site stops tracking when it crosses the border. Copy and paste the same (CP) tracking number into the USPS tracking page and 'pick it up' in New York on our side of customs.

Thanks dude! This will significantly help my refreshing habits.

I'm working from home tomorrow so I can sign... Although not sure how productive I'll be, depending on time of delivery.[/QUOTE]

Thanks for posting this video. I've never owned a vape like this, so this was super helpful. I have a few general questions:
1. Why do you use the hose to suck the medicine into the mouthpiece as opposed to just dumping it in there?
2. How fine should the medicine be ground up? What affect does it have?
3. What effect will the different temps have (in general)
4. How long should I have the Air on for before loading the mouthpiece+medicine?
5. How long should I let it sit once I've loaded mouthpiece+medicine?
6. What will the outcome be if I take a few hits but don't want to finish the bowl? Can I just leave it in there then heat it up a couple hours later? Or do I need to remove it and mix it up, etc?

Thanks all!

Great, welcome aboard and thank you am happy to help.

Regarding 1, sorry for any confusion there, I was only using the extension hose as a prop to avoid having to show my face in the video while keeping everything else in frame for the end-to-end type session. Most often I use the stem as a scoop and shove a bit of herb in there from my grinder.

Regarding the remaining questions, I would say for me the answers can be summed up as 'it depends', with much having to do with personal preference, situation, vaporizer usage mode and other factors discovered through experimentation.

Good luck and may you find joy in your vape journey.

My impression is that the Arizer Air can serve as a very good companion.

i just got my air today!!
in the box i got 2 air stems. i don't know why they made one shorter than the other.i guess time will tell.i also received a normal solos stem, stirring pin , protective sleeve, case and charger.im waiting on the air to charge to try it out. so i tried a air stem on my solo. they work great on a solo.thick clouds and not too harsh on#4.also i got a leaflet about battery usage.it mention if you use a aftermarket battery in the air it would void your warranty.that sucks.the warranty is same as the solo.i cant believe how slim the air is compare to the solo. cant wait to try it!!!

This Arizer Air looks great
I love my Solo and my Imag+, but the Arizer Air would be a nice addon on the my Portable vapes.
I've miss the 199$ Price, I'm living in Europe, I don't want to wait until the stores here as the Arizer air available, it can takes longer...
Are there any discount codes for FC Members?

I (deliberately) missed the intro Holiday discount also, but with time there may be more as the Xmas season marches on; and as the haze settles, with time. (Since I JUST got two Solos, do I need yet another, although smaller, and trimmer. The answer is Noo. Not yet.)

The sanity returns.

Do you guy's think the Air will be ok using the Panasonic ncr18650b 3.7v cell's which are unprotected ?

Anyone know how this compares to the Pax? I love my pax but am a fan of arizer lol. For some reason the Pax kills the flavor for me. Maybe because it's conduction? Haven't researched enough lol. Plus the Pax stinks. Like bad lol. Way more than my arizer EQ. Does the smell of burnt weed/ abv stick to the air? I know on the Pax, it's loaded from the bottom so the vapor has to travel through the entire device to get you the mouthpiece, I'm thinking this might not be the case here since this is top loaded

We might think so (after some research), but the maker clearly doesn't:
"also i got a leaflet about battery usage.it mention if you use a aftermarket battery in the air it would void your warranty"

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-arizer-air.16415/page-26#post-699475

Based on that alone I cannot recommend it. As I said earlier in this thread, a common safety feature (used at least by TV and Delta 9) involves a special spring (works like a fuse) and a precise mechanical fit (the spring has to be able to collapse). We know of serious issues in both those product lines when this safety feature was defeated in just this way.

For now, the only 'safe bet' is the factory battery I think. Even if you're OK voiding the warranty.

@CentiZen mentioned the current cell is rated at 5A discharge

...
The vape has a protection circuit, and a quick google search was all I needed to find the source of the cell. The cell, by the way is 2250mAh, 3.3 - 4.2v and has a discharge current of ~5A.

The Panasonic catalogue PDF page for this model shows it can be discharged at 2C
http://industrial.panasonic.com/www-data/pdf2/ACI4000/ACI4000CE76.pdf
The max discharge rate can then be calculated as follows;
3200 (mAh) x 2 (C) = 6400
6400 / 1000 = 6.4A

So these batteries should work, but remember that Arizer says you will void your warranty by doing so. It has also not been confirmed at which rate the device is discharging the batteries, but if you keep it above the stock battery it should be fine.

Edit: Did not see @OF 's post before posting, keep in mind his comment about the battery spring too.

Keep in mind that using batteries other than the ones from Arizer will void your warranty and experimenting with cells can be dangerous, please use safety precautions when dealing with them

thanks guys . I wonder exactly what the specs are on the battery that the air comes with. Maybe somebody with the air can help out. I just have so many of these panasonic cells that i'd love to be able to put them to use. Not that it is the right thing to do but i am pretty sure there is no way of arizer knowing what battery was used in the machine to void a warranty.

A bit more information from a friend who's deep into enjoying his new Air, he's not a participant here so I thought I'd pass them on?

"Temps: my unit was pretty accurate. Not a surprise, my Solos were always very accurate as well. I got Blue=180c; White=191c; Green=202c; Yellow=206c and Red=212c."

Good news, IMO, but hardly surprising?

He also made the observation that the session time had been cut back to 10 minutes, something not reported before? As he points out this (small) change lets them get 5 sessions where Solo would get 4 on the same power. Over all he estimates a full battery charge (down to the solid red warning) is about 60 minutes, so the estimates (or 'speculations' if you prefer) seem at least partially confirmed. He's a very careful guy, I trust his evaluations, but soon we'll be able to make hard measurements of currents and time and we'll know 'for sure'.

For now I think shorter battery life, much smaller size (in diameter only), replaceable battery and less user features kinda sums up the practical differences from Solo?

what about comparisons between the crafty and the air, where do their threads go?
Comparison threads should be made in Ask FC. As I mentioned earlier, some comparison between vapes is inevitable in the vape specific threads, but we discourage too much of this type of discussion in vape specific threads to keep the threads on topic and avoid OT derails.

Is it true that if you take the mouthpiece off of the air it can adapt to a 14mm piece of glass without needing to purchase a adapter ?

It's wonderful. I've already nicknamed it "Pocket Cloud". Just as much if not more cloud production as the Solo.

Close, you actually want to keep the mouthpiece on. It's what makes the seal. It does work though!

Any need for "burn off" runs? @steama it sounds like you didn't need to charge it right out of the box. is that correct?
