Arizer Air - Official Review and Comparison
First, a bit of history about my vape knowledge.
Many years ago I saw a vape at a headshop and decided to try it. Crappy hold wand to a barely heating element. Terrible results. Right back to smoking.
A couple of years ago, I decided to stop combusting and try vaping. This time: success!
Now, I have a somewhat obsessive personality so when I like something I tend to get really into everything about it which led to many purchases.
In the initial 6 months I had:
Iolite v1
OG solo
Extreme Q
Volcano
Da Buddah
Puffit v1
MFLB og with and w/o PA
I now only have:
Arizer Air (thanks again Randy)
Da Buddah (definitely a durable unit, been going strong for years)
Pinnacle Pro DLX w/ water tube
Puri5 Titan 2
Grenco sciences G Pro
(Extreme Q replacement en route from Puffitup.com, MFLB being replaced through lifetime warranty)
In this review, I'll point out my thoughts on the pros/cons of the portable units, review the Air fully (packaging, warranty, etc), and finally compare each portable and rate them, from 1-7 (ones I've owned or have) in order of the best unit to the worst (in my opinion).
I hope this helps anyone looking into new portable units.
Reviews in no order :
1. Arizer Air
This unit is fantastic. Nice packaging, similar to every Arizer product I've received. Discrete and efficient. I find the included silicon sleeve comfortable, the carrying case convenient, and a stirring tool is a nice touch. You can adjust the airflow with packing methods or simply not pushing the stem all the way in but it's good airflow regardless. Better than the solo I had certainly.
Durability is like the solo but in my onion better. It feels sturdy and has a great warranty. Plus a user replaceable battery, so I assume it'll be less hassle to keep this vape up and running without using the warranty than many others.
The clouds can be wispy with a light pack, but really stuff down finely ground material and regardless of amount you're going to get a few nice clouds.
Another plus, besides being able to use while charging, is that the mouthpieces fit in my DLX tube fairly snug. Enough to get cloudy. It's a 2 hand job and its not as snug, but talk about versatility.
Arizer has proven themselves once again.
I guess my only con would be that it doesn't have the seven hear settings and the light set up that the solo had. Plus the battery indicator. I found those useful. Other than that, this is a solid portable you can find for a reasonable price (I STRONGLY suggest puffitup) that has no REAL drawbacks at all. It's a built to last, versatile vape.
9.7/10 in my book
2. Pinnacle Pro DLX
Despite the bad rep, I like this vape alot.
Many of the same features of the Air (similar size, versatile, can be used while charging, a cloud producer, etc) can be found on the pinnacle pro but it does have more drawbacks.
The pros - The unit produces clouds even on the lowest settings. It doesn't get too hot to me and through the Pong mouthpiece/adapter (no one uses the plastic) it tastes pretty good to me.
The bullet option is genius in my opinion, that's one of my favorite features. It does have 7 temp settings and I hear it can be used with concentrates but that is of no concern to me. I've never gotten real wispy vapor out of it and it doesn't smell much. It can get a bit hot on the throat without the water but not unbearable and only on 3. I rarely go higher unless it's for a finishing couple draws. The hits through the water tube are just fantastic, hands down.
Cons- the plastic doesn't seem durable and reports of mouthpieces or chamber pieces cracking worry me a bit. That and complaints of battery life. I'm hoping I got a good one but at least I know I ordered from a great source and can always get it fixed. I also think they should come with customized screens for the bullets. Longevity worries aside, if it doesnt crap out I could comfortably recommend this. I will be buying v3 sometime after release if the concerns are addressed well enough.
8.9/10
3. Grenco G Pro
I found this vape for cheap luckily, and its apparently like a titan 1 or a few others of that style. It did serve it's purpose....it was the vape that got me away from combusting again (long story) and made me realize if a vape getting sh*t reviews can make me happy vaping imagine what top of the lines can do. Combusting is now disgusting.
I also like that it'll never combust and you're guaranteed clouds, however wispy, from every pack. It's not a terrible emergency vape to have.
Cons- cheap plastic casing and button, could certainly stand another heat setting. It's Grenco :/
5.5/10
4. Puri5 Titan 2
Another vape thats not popular, can be purchased for 40-70 bucks, and has been good to me.
Pros- After the initial burn off, it's been a great travel vape I'll bring in anywhere.
Digital lcd display, temps up to 428, and a nice body. Feels light but very durable from this manufacturer.
Clouds are Light to medium but consistent. Vapes very evenly and an easy on/off mouthpiece to pack the chamber. A bit hot until you use the included extension mouthpiece.
Cons - burn off took 3 cycles, and the only way to get good clouds is a dense pack. I do like the use while charging through any mini usb charger, but the battery itself is only good for 35-40 min on its own. Also not replaceable
7.8/10
5. MFLB
Ive said it before, always has a place in an arsenal. It's not, in my opinion, a session vape. It's a one or maybe two people vape but I consider it the one hitter of the vape world.
Pros - after you get your technique down, you can get very medicated very discreetly with this device. You want a couple sets of batteries, but its very quick and effective if you want to sneak a vape real quick. You can sneak a couple good draws and put it away all within a minute with very little to no smell. A lifetime warranty that they're happy to offer and they always respond. There's also tons of accessories now to make it versatile. If you get clouds, more often than not they'll be wispy, but it's still doing the trick even without much visible vapor. With the PA, you'll get clouds period. That turns the little box beastly.
Cons - the battery thing can be a pain if you wanted to session with it, and if you use poor technique and still try to get clouds there's a good chance of combustion.
The PA is clunky, and the box really needs FINELY ground herb and a good shake/tap between draws to keep it satisfactory.
The trick is knowing where and how it fits in your needs..... then you'll grow to love it.
7/10
6. PuffIt v1
Besides the design, I have very little positive to say about this unit. A pain to use, terrible vapor production for me, and overall I sold it within a couple weeks. I havent tried any model since so I will not comment on the company besides to say they did promptly respond to emails (good indicator of CS) but I would never purchase again for any price.
3/10 (loved the actual look of it, stealthy as anything could be, and it didn't combust)
7. OG Arizer Solo
I liked this vape, when I upgraded to Eds stems. Not a fan of stock airflow.
I loved the battery indicator and seven heat settings, and it was a cloud producer with a nice tasty vapor. It also was built like a mini tank.
Cons - couldn't be used while charging, was a bit too big to be as portable as I prefer, there wasn't a user replaceable battery, and coming stock it had a very restrictive airflow.
7.9/10
8. Iolite v.1
Another unit I am not that fond of.
Needs butane, and a specific type, and the taste, vapor, effects, etc were questionable at best.
Rather than pro/con this one, i'll just say I got this unit as a gift about 3.5 years ago. Nowadays, the portables, probably any one reviewed on here..... will put this to shame.
1/10 (at least it didn't combust)
All in all, I think it's a clear winner
The Air is an incredible vape, although I can honestly say I love my PPRO DLX too and if they address the durability/battery issue..... the two will be competitive.
Portable Vape Ranking -
1. Arizer Air
2. Pinnacle Pro

5. (Was almost a tie for 3rd or 4th) MFLB (Og model)
5. Grenco Gpro
6. Puffit v. 1
7. Iolite v. 1
There you have it folks.
I'd like to give one more huge thank you to Randy for hooking me up nicely with the Air and helping me affordably replace my Extreme Q. He's even throwing in a free Gong adapter because we both agree the Q through water is just delightful. I recommend any and everyone who doesn't..... check out Puffitup.com
Great guy runs the site, quick shipping, and he price matches. Absolutely fantastic service.
Happy Vaping! Any questions, anyone, feel free to ask
