Cases! I dont yet have a case for the Air (the belt pouch has worked great so far), but for the Solo I used a Ryot hard case like this: https://ryot.com/products/category/14 The large one fits a Solo and an ABV container, Im sure the smaller one would fit the Air nicely. Also the foam inserts are removable if you need more room, and it keeps the smell in quite nicely. I will say that with the small one i bought i ended up having zipper problems but the large one did not. I think this is because I tried to pack too much into it one time and the zipper split open.

If you want a hard shelled case that you can drop in a backpack then throw it around, step on it, drop it on the concrete, and bail off of a longboard without damaging your vape I stand by this one.

Just got mine in the mail today and and I already accidentally snapped the silicone cap off of the top of the oven...

In several demo videos I've seen it kinda just off to the side but mine was really tight on there, so I figured if I bent it back a little it would stay off to the side and...snap.

I wonder if this is somethingI can get replaced? I don't want to superglue it in there and risk inhaling those fumes.

The same thing happened to me. I can confirm you can re-attach the cover. It just takes some elbow grease and finesse. Pretty much jam that back into the larger holes.

Haha yes you are exactly right. Just popped it back in. Also I'm an idiot. To get the cap to hang off to the side just twist it upside down so the "open" side is facing up. FALSE ALARM

Yes, it can easily be put back in, but 'jam it back into the hole' is not the right way. Look at it carefully, notice the little barb on the shaft? That's why.

What you should do is like they did when they assembled it, insert it until the shaft stops at the barb. Then reach in and grab the roach sticking out on the inside and pull it through. Don't push, you want to stretch it out, not compress it!

I usually do this from the bottom with long nose pliers or hemostats (AKA 'roach clip') but you should also be able to do it from the top.

Pull, don't push.

Haha yes you are exactly right. Just popped it back in.

Glad it worked, but I advise not pressing your luck next time (should there be one). The common result is it balks going in, you push harder, it slips to one side but the jammed part hangs up on the hole and you rip the stud off at it's top......

I used dental floss to put it back on only to have it come off again.
Now if your able to get the barb through the round holes I think it would stay on and never come off.
may have to slightly enlarge hole though want to see if Arizer sells the topcap before I start messing with it

I like the 'lash it to something solid' approach!

You should not need to modify the hole, after all the factory pulled it through that very hole......

I agree, replacement caps would be a good thing but being as the cap for Solo is similar (but with different spacing for the pin), let's hope for both types? FWIW I've taken the cover off my main Solo and only Air, the Air one is back in the box, I've no idea what I did to lose track of the Solo one......

Don't worry about light ABV. You can always try out another vaporizer to see about the color. Some strains have lighter ABV when it's spent. I have a strain Skywalker OG and it's always light in color even though nothing is left in the flower.

If you are getting medicated your vaporizer is working fine. Test some other strains just to make sure you're not having issues.
My first vape was G Pro from Grenco and I was getting this kind of ABV with it. Im not sure if it was because it was a crap company or because i was overkilling the chamber with ISO when i was cleaning it (i was a noob back then lol)
Now I'm just kind of worried if my AA is working properly. I clean the chamber with iso but its nothing like i used to do with G Pro. I always make sure the q-tip is only slightly dipped and I even wipe the rest of extra Iso on my hand so nothing is dripping from the q-tip anywhere

Topic change for a moment, please, to cases?

I just got the Vatra case (for the Solo) from 'our guy, Randy' at PIU. The idea was to replace the camera case I use as a 'war bag' for solo (unit, stem, herb, charger). While it's a very well made case for what it does, there just isn't enough room for everything I want along (I'll settle for the car charger only, but also want bent stem and stash at least). After a disappointing 'test fit' I put it all back in the camera case.....

Then it hit me.......how about the Air? Not "made for each other" but 'made for each other. Oceans of room for the unit, a spare 18650, stems, and stash. Very heavy padding, yet still compact. No need to go looking for a case, it found me (or should that be 'us', I consider Air my friend......).

Anyway, check it out:

Is that case smell proof?

Has anyone had any luck putting domed screens in their Air stem?

I just decided to try. With the grind I'm using right now Air stems are running close to .20 grams each, rather than the .13 or so I'm using in Solo with domed stems. Putting my longer Air stem in the Solo got different results for me and I thought I'd start out putting a screen in the Air stem. Only it won't stay put! It keeps backing out. The bowl is slightly tapered (as it now has to be) and the 'spring action' on the clean glass is letting it spring up. This with a new batch (potential change?) of 5/8 screens. Even changing to 1/2 inch (very small dome) didn't work.

After four tries, I'm giving up for a bit, even a well used screen from Solo stems springs up........

Anyone have any success here?

TIA

Thanks, but that's not what I was asking about really. I'm looking for something about half that size. That high up the walls are pretty parallel. I'm avoiding the urge to do a 'reverse dome' so the volume would be 'right', since this will put the load further from the walls (and heat) rather than closer as the dome does.

I'd also like something simple enough (like the 5/8 domed screens in Solo) so I can have a dozen or so in rotation.

Thanks again, if I can't find a better solution I may have to go that way (form a much larger screen with a tall lip and narrowed skirt to grab the walls higher up).

Yes, I never had issues with my 0.5'' screens fitting with a slight dome in my Solo stems, but my Air stems are much trickier to fit a screen and have it sit properly. I was able to fit a screen with some fiddling into the short Air stem, but the longer Air stem required me to trim down the 0.5'' screen (never had to do that with the Solo) to get it to fit and it still pops out of place occasionally.

I took a reg screen and cut it to size than I molded it to the air stem sticking it in and using a pencil eraser to shape it. I didn't find better results so it's out now .

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right

I formed the screen into a bowl over the end of a Bic type pen. I formed it over the end as evenly as I could and then pushed the pen's cap down over it to better form the bowl all around. Then inverted it and put it in the stem. I had a piece of dowling just slightly smaller than the bowl's opening and I just pushed it in and pretty much flattened the screen on the bottom except around the edge which retains a curved lip all around. As the screen is slightly "springy" it actually doesn't touch the holes in the bottom. But it doesn't come out easily and when it does its pretty much not reusable. So I just soak/clean the stems with them in place.

edit: It just occurs to me that after I have formed the initial bowl with the pen I could trim off the "points" so it would sit more evenly in the bowl after I pushed it down. Have to try that next time.

So I have a question about the Air....

... do I 'pre-bake' it like I did with the Solo ? I was told to burn it empty for 2 ten minute cycles when I first got it, to get rid of factory smell. I did, and, yeah, a smell came out at first.
Sorry if this has already been covered.

Aside from different steps, Solo and Air are basically the same. In fact you can exchange stems. Performance should be very similar after 'finding your step'.

Like all vapes you should experiment a bit with technique, but I suggest you use what you like with Solo as a starting place for your Air adventures.

Well, my Air is supposed to come tomorrow, I'm thinking of doing an in depth review/comparison (haven't seen one in a few pages, could be useful). Regarding portables, I have a Gpro (cheap purchase but its my emergency if-all-fails keeper), a Titan 2 I enjoy, and a pinnacle pro dlx to compare to.
I have had a Solo, an mflb, and a puff it v.1 in the past.
This could help anyone on the fence maybe.....I'll also likely post the hot chocolate concoction I'm creating later in the cooking section and shamelessly post a link hehe

I guess my only concern is that tracking hasn't updated since (shipping label created) but still says expected delivery day tomorrow.....I shall hope and see.

Spoiler warning:
Your review will probably have solo and air wining many categories!

I think we ordered on the same day? Mine is also coming tomorrow and my tracking shows it is in my city. I am 1 state away if that helps?

Hi new here I Just got my Air today and have been very impressed. Lovely full hits with Great flavour that lasts well (I was concerned when some commented that it didn't last) and it really excels using small amounts of herb which is unlike many other portables.the short stems with mouthpiece work a treat and I don't personally find it uncomfortable even at high temps just nice and smooth with a clean but full high.As with many of the top end portables battery life could be better. But hey let's pop in a fresh one. nice and stealthy and fun to use its a keeper.

The anticipation and worry can drive a person mad.
Dammit USPS! WHY DID YOU NOT UPDATE MY TRACKING IN 4 DAYS!

It was a Holiday yesterday. That has a 'ripple effect' that can stall out the whole machine. I 'lost' two packages in this same time frame. Based on my experience it's entirely possible it's moving without scans, I'm expecting the package that never left Buffalo NY ('label printed' Thursday night) to show up today or tomorrow.

Have faith, they can only screw it up so bad. It kind of ends these days at delivering it to the wrong address or returning it to sender.

Hopefully you'll soon have this all behind you.
