Arizer Air Aficionado
So at around this time, two years ago to the day, I smoked my last joint.

When I ordered my Air and took my first sips, I never set out to fuck combustion. I was a daily joint smoker. I just wanted to use the vape as and when I can, to cut down on the smoking.

I used it for the Saturday it arrived, and the Sunday. I took my first weekday (mon-thurs) t-break, and realised the next weekend I never need to smoke again. Vaporising is superior in every single way, and its seriously changed my life for the better in many many ways.

The vape, and more likely this forum, allowed me to cut down from daily smoking, which wasn't working for me. To just enjoying the herb on Friday, Saturday and Sundays (mainly).

So here's to two years smoke free. Two years with my Air. And two years reading the lovely posts and interesting threads from all you guys and girls.

Keep on vaping :leaf:

Thank you.

And in return my wishes for many more such years to come. One of the many advantages, you not only enjoy it more at lower costs but you also get more healthy years to do so because of it. I like that part too.

Can anyone please help. Do I charge my arizer 18650 at .5 a or 1a?

Either, your call. While you can basically charge as fast as you can discharge (same reaction......) the general advice is to charge at rate slow enough to prevent overheating (say no more than 10 degree rise?) which means you want to charge in the one to two hour range for a full charge.

I could be wrong - but I thought you use the higher number if in a rush but lower number is better for the battery if you have time.

No, it has to do with the capacity really. Charge the low capacity cells at the low rate. Too low a rate is bad for them as it goofs with the charge termination.

1 Amp is probably the better call (it's what I use for 2000mAh plus charging), while not ideal, 500 won't likely do much damage......and it will take much longer.

So I bought a USB cord and I was hoping someone could clarify for me. The stock charger outputs 1.2A, does this mean I should only use usb supplies that are over 1.2A?

I know that, sorry I should have clarified. I've always been under the impression when you use an alternative supply of power for any device you want to have the same or more amp capacity on the power supply.

Less amp will simply mean a slower charge time, which is actually better for the battery (I think)

Unfortunately my Airizer Air seems to be breaking slowly. It started with having the beeping sound completely disappear on startup. Now, it's not showing me the battery life left on the battery before heating up. It still heats up fine and all that, but it seems to be slowly breaking down. Awesome vape so hopefully it doesn't completely shit the bed on me anytime soon :(

I think I tend to agree this is a good (safe) plan in the general sense? That is if you use one lower in current it's sure to slow the charging rate more than the maker intended. At best, just slower, but more likely to get out of the power management profile he intended? He would not have supplied the higher capacity (more expensive) charger without reason?

It's plenty safe to use a higher current (but correct voltage) charger, the unit is only going to use as much as it wants/needs in that case. The charging kluge I'm using right now has over 3 Amps available to those who want/can use it for that reason.

Less amp will simply mean a slower charge time, which is actually better for the battery (I think)

I still think 'too slow' a charge is not good practice. I consider the 1 to 2 hour rate to be a good target compromise? One thing absolutely true is you should not 'trickle charge' Li-ions. In fact, internal charge circuits detect the lowering charge current and stop charging at 10% of maximum possible current. If you have a unit that's designed for 1 Amp charge it's automatically set up to stop at .1 Amp.

Unfortunately my Airizer Air seems to be breaking slowly. It started with having the beeping sound completely disappear on startup. Now, it's not showing me the battery life left on the battery before heating up.

As has been said, the beep is turned off and on easily and is often accidentally changed. Power it up, then hold the up button down for several seconds (not a quick push as you normally would). It should beep indicating it on. Doing the same turns it off and gives you silence as an indicator of that........... Confusing, perhaps, but that's how it works on Solo And Air.

If the unit gives normal run time (say 3 or 4 sessions) it's not a battery or contact problem (the heater draws much more power, a problem there would crash the Air on heating). You can miss the indication I suppose, but I'm not clear on how this function could disappear. The software either turns the light on the required color, waits a bit, switches to blue and starts flashing or it doesn't 'move on' through the list?

Anything could happen, but that one's a head scratcher........

After owning this for about 2 months I figured I give a little review. First off I want to thank this forum for the information, shout out to OF. When my firefly 1 broke for the 5th time and vapeworld offered me store credit I had the chance to buy the "newest" in vogue vape. But reading all the problems with these new vapes makes me glad I didn't go that route. I'm done with rma service times. Why charge 250 plus when there's problems with batteries overheating, seams in the oven, and devices hissing...no thanks ill stick with arizer. But mainly I was interested in durability and ease of maintenance. Other than one glitch the air works like a tank. I use it all day everyday. And cleaning isn't a chore, I actually look forward to cleaning the stem to get that honey. All in all the arizer has exceeded my expectations of a good reliable vape.

I hope I'm still on the Arizer Air forum? Love mine, but it is being weird at the moment. Fresh battery, lights come on and function properly, but ZERO HEAT on any setting. Is this a situation where I have to contact Arizer, or is there something simple I don't know about? Thanks. :)

My 13 month old Air just, recently, has begun occasionally, Not Heating Up, as well. After switching ON the Top LED would illuminate, first indicating the state of battery charge, and then turn Blue, (as Normal, until I would select a different heat setting), but instead of it remaining steady, it would flash. The Bottom LED would not illuminate, (as it normally, would, and flash, when indicating that it was heating), until I would select, (either Up or Down), a heat selection, then it would illuminate, but remain steady, (not flashing as when normally, heating up), and the Air would not heat up.

After checking battery, (fully charged), and removing / unscrewing the vented Top section, (not seeing anything else accessible to check out), I gave the Metal 'Bowl Cover' a few good, hard, flicks with my finger, (while switched on), the Air miraculously, began to operate normally; the Top LED was on steady, the Bottom LED began to flash, the Air began heating up and the Bottom LED stopped flashing and remained steady when the set temperature was apparently, reached, (it seemed to heat up as normal).

So, just, some debris got through the tiny, holes in the bowl and causing a 'short' among the connections to and from the bowl and the circuitry, or is it a loose connection?

I have experienced the same situation a couple of times since; removing / unscrewing the 'grille' and giving the 'bowl' a flick or two with my finger worked, again ... until today ... I found this Post here on FC: on this page: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-arizer-air.16415/page-366, "Ah ... The inner self of Arizer Air ...Aka "how to cancel the guarantee."" .. by
stardustsailor .. I disassembled as much as I could, I couldn't get the 'guts' up and out the top beyond the LEDs on the circuit board, seems there was a hang up at the Switch. .. anyway, I didn't see any, bare wires or the like. I wasn't able to figure out how to remove the steel bowl from the ceramic to see if there were loose wires. The Air, for some reason began to function normally, once again, so I replaced that plastic, like tape around the top of the 'guts' with Teflon tape, as stardustsailor suggested, and put the Air back together and hope for the best. .. so far so good.

Thanks for your responses on what I thought was my Airizer Air breaking down! Had no idea you could turn the beep on and off. Popped in a new battery, turned the beep back on and everything works perfect. Still running strong :)

Great, thanks for the good word.

Please remember your current gratitude when you get the bill.......and remember, tipping is allowed.

Enjoy your Air, that is why you bought it, right?

I am excited to join the Arizer family! Waiting for my Air in the mail. The only other vape I've tried is the HA H2.2, which I have owned for 4 years. Anxious to have something to compare to. Any beginner advice would be appreciated!

Experimentation is the key, so many ways to use this vape. I dont grind and use stock stems and no screens.

One more question for Air experts. I've had the Air for awhile now and have definitely loved it but my biggest complaint is I ALWAYS get Scooby snacks - nearly every hit - and it's annoying. Is there an upgraded stem people are using to avoid this?

A domed screen will solve the problem. You can get them on ebay or if you have some 14mm screens you can do it yourself

Adding on to what others said, slow draw, the plastic stem works in 14mm bongs, you can get reclaim from the stems.
