I'll be coming over to your side of the pond soon despite all the sssssssspookiness, motorcycletouring the West Coast BECKON this man!

Great news. We'll keep the beaches open (the edge of the even bigger pond.....) then. Good show it's salt water, that we got plenty of......fresh water is the problem. You might bring a few gallons with you for trading purposes with the natives?

You'll enjoy the screens I think. Second best recommendation from Sinclue IMO, right after the Summit. Well maybe even first, neat as Summit is.

I have a question/concern. My new Air's battery takes a very long time to charge. Yesterday afternoon or evening, once I used up the battery's initial charge, I basically had to keep it charging at all times, for many hours. Following its first battery depletion, whenever I used it (one session per hour or so), I would finish the session with a depleted battery, regardless of whether I kept it plugged in during the session.

This doesn't seem right to me. It seems like the battery charges fully, but it feels like it takes forever. Since this is my first experience with either this kind of product or its battery, I just don't know.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: Shortly after composing this post, with a fully charged battery (not plugged in), I began a session. A few minutes into the session, I plugged in the charger and finished the session. After the session, it took around half an hour for the blinking green light to become a solid green light.

The battery will take anywhere from 2-4hrs i believe to charge depending on how depleted it may be. The charger actually charges at a slow rate to preserve the batteries life. I also believe you should be getting about 5 full sessions , maybe 6 with a full charge. Check the best of Air thread for more info. on this , it should tell you everything you'd like to know. Here is the link , has some very useful info - http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/best-of-the-arizer-air-thread.16610/

Also, I'm having trouble unthreading the black mouthpiece from its stem. Can't do it. I currently have a wrench clamping the black piece, but I can't find anything to give me any grip/leverage to turn the glass, like a rubber band. I gotta figure there's at least one rubber band around here somewhere, but I can't find one.

What if I freeze it? Or heat it up in my oven? Or something like that? (Remember, my hands are probably much weaker than yours.)

OK, this is normal for this class of battery. It charges at a fairly high rate (say .8 Amps) for most of it's capacity. As it does so the voltage rises from something like 3.3 to 4.1 Volts or so. Up to about 85 or 90% of 'full'. Then the charge rate is lowered to keep the voltage from exceeding the limit allowed (4.2 typically). Because the rate is lower and dropping this takes a long time, between 20 and 30 minutes in my test. Half an hour to replace 10% of the total charge (what you'd use in half a load). You're just using the slow part over and over. You can get 90% of the charge in a couple hours, the last ten (the one you're using) takes half an hour each time. Discharging further before recharge can reduce this effect since you charge less often.

BTW, plugging it in while using really does little. The charger can only supply less than half the needed power, the battery is still being discharged (not charged), only discharging at about half normal rate. Doing this ('charge while using') when the battery is badly discharged can also cause damage. Batteries are cheap, but IMO this mode is not a good one to use.

Don't sweat the details, get to know and enjoy your new found vape buddy.

Nice thing is, you can always buy more batteries. I think I have 10.

10? Someone with more batteries than me? That makes me feel better.

Thanks.

We've been here a few times. Don't clamp on the plastic, guys have twisted the flat off the threaded part. Those that clamp on the round (although tapered) 'threaded part' actually end up distorting the cap and gripping the glass all the tighter. You need torque (tendency to rotate), not 'crush'. Rubber bands are the usual answer. If you don't have them handy, how about the mailbox or postman? My local guy gave me a handful a while back, it's mostly hanging on a hook. In past times, when I lived in an apartment, the communal mailbox always had some.

Otherwise, dish washing type gloves are a common substitute. You can also use tape, even 'scotch tape'. Warp it around the glass a turn or two 'glue down' (normally) then fold it over on itself and put a turn or two on sticky side out).

As a last ditch attempt, how about trying your lucky condom......right there in your wallet.....

I'd avoid cool, the plastic gets more brittle and shrinks faster than the glass so it gets tighter. Heat is not really all that useful since there's a 'springy' rubber gasket inside. It will fight you, you need to 'torque it off' it won't 'break free'.

Good luck with it, then again it's only a ten dollar part and you've got a spare/backup?

try preheating it on red for a few minutes with the stem 1st , that may help. It usually does the trick for me .

AHA! That was actually very easy. So easy that it felt like I didn't even do anything. The hardest part was accidentally noticing the ice pack I had forgotten I own.

Has anyone tried ISO or ethanol to loosen a stuck mouthpiece?

Has anyone tried ISO or ethanol to loosen a stuck mouthpiece?

Considering how easy it was for me to remove the mouthpiece once I found the rubber ice pack/hot water bottle, I am inclined to think the mouthpiece was not stuck at all. Rather, I think the glass is just so slick (and small) that sometimes it's impossible to get an adequate grip with human skin, which is also pretty slick. I mean, it literally felt like I hadn't done anything once I was finally able to remove the mouthpiece.

Just to be safe, I applied some Grinder Grease to the threads before reattaching the mouthpiece.

Regarding the battery concern I expressed yesterday: Yesterday, as soon as my Air started indicating low battery, I plugged it in and I didn't touch it until it was fully charged. Took 3 hours to reach full charge. So I guess everything I've experienced is normal. Also, it seems like my battery lasts maybe 60-70 minutes before indicating that it needs charged.

One other thing. I have noticed that it's almost impossible for me to get moisture out of the 2-piece stem, even with the mouthpiece removed; even when the moisture is from ISO; even when I put it in my oven at about 230°F for a while. I think I did find an easy(ish) solution, but has anyone else experienced a similar inability to remove moisture from inside that particular stem?

I have now completed four full sessions using the same 0.1 g. First session on blue. Second session on white. Third and fourth sessions on orange. It's not quite gone yet, either.

This is kind of blowing my mind. Is this consistent with other people's results?

You'll get used to it! I never use more than .1, usually less, especially now I playing with PHVES turbo shortys (30% smaller bowl). Efficiency is sick. I'm testing out a new strain I got yesterday from my guy, who called and said, "you just gotta get a z of this", it was gone in an hour. He delivered it and looked RIPPED.

Sitting here listening to Slacker Radio and Sweet Marijuana Brown Station (I created)...

In pic above from left to right: Glass ring holder serves as a stem emptier, ABV holder, and sits atop a mini CV fault full of awesome stuff. @OF course my AA, and a nice full fat latte to smooth things out.

PS: Dinner out with wife tonight. Ever since I got my possibility of "good news", she's a different person...

I bet you have pretty good buds. Quality here varies, and with top strains my mind is also repeatedly blown in the same way.

I really don't know about the quality of my buds, partly because nowadays I feel unable to get what I'd call 'high'. I don't know if it's a result of tolerance, multiple sclerosis, or product quality. One thing I do know, though, is that I only received 75% of what I paid for last time.

The lesson I learned: Sandwich-sized baggies weigh anywhere from about 0.9 g to 2.4 g.

I stupidly assumed they weigh essentially nothing. Don't make that assumption.

The double bag trick!

I didn't really get high when I smoked, vaping is a total different story. Gives me so much more control than smoking did.

Wow. I don't have any regrets about buying the Aromed before buying the Air, but this thing is unbelievable so far. The Air seems much more efficient than the AroMed, even though I believe the AroMed is considered one of the most efficient vaporizers on the market.

The Air is so much easier to use and maintain, too. With the Air, I can just relax on the couch (where I spend most of my time) and have a session whenever I want, in peace; relaxed. Also, the ABV that comes out of this thing is all the same color. (It's dark.) The Air seems unbelievably efficient.

There's a very good chance I will never need the Arizer Air for its portability, but I'm so glad I decided to buy this portable vaporizer anyway. This thing is just here for me; exactly how and when I need it to be.
