I haven't tried the Z with TC, only with 50W with DNA250C or 45W with DNA75 and it had been amazing, huge clouds.
You find yourself like the TC mod better than Wattage? by the bigger clouds
I definitely recommend the HerbieVonVapster ecigprofiles, sorry to repeat that so often. I personally use TC with my dna mods because I can consistently get dense vapor while stretching out the terp hits for flavor. The XL8R stems are also a default for me; the flavor suffers a bit but the cooling is worth it for the big hits I prefer.
I do like dna wattage better than non-dna. I tend to keep my TC resistance high enough for dense vapor production with a displayed temp from 360 to 385°. I don't care what the real world temp is. When I pair a Z or a V1/2 with any new mod I start with the Herbie profiles and then nudge the resistance around (i.e. up) until it's quick to fog up the parlor at those lower temps and showing really even abv that remains shockingly fresh looking through the first few big hits.
What I can't get as reliably from dna wattage is that combination of dense clouds and connoisseur level control of the roasting. With wattage it's more like a battery powered Sticky Brick or log where the heat is quick and clueless unless the wattage is low enough you have to wait for it. Dna wattage is an easier way to share a Splinter because there's no need to understand or work with the heater. Otherwise I stick with TC.
Some of my Splinter and mod combos get all their work done from 350 to 390°, others have a more normal sounding range and finish nicely at 430°.
@bossman awesome your convincing me to purchase the drone before there are no more DNA 250c available! I'm curious as to what other vaporizers you use and or compare your Splinter Z's to?
Sorry for being slow to reply! I should revisit my signature as I've sold stuff off since last I listed my devices there. Anyway, here's a link to the ecigprofiles:

I got carried away answering your question about what I'm comparing my Splinters to:
I have every model of Splinter and Splinter Z. I also have a limba Sticky Brick, Omni, Omni XL, 2019 M, Fierce, Mighty, Lil Bud, and a premium maple Enano. I've sold a linx Gaia and given away a Solo II. I also just sold my Fury 2 but with the intention of replacing it with the Fury Edge.
The og Brick is the star of the show apart from the murder of Splinters. The hits are big and smooth with great flavor and a satisfying ritual. Mine would get more use if not for the fact that I can fully extract three Splinter baskets worth in three big hits. I prefer to pump the breaks and blow out more flavorful clouds over the course of an evening. The Brick is the only vape that hangs with my best Splinter/dna combos.
Session vapes can't compete with any Splinter, so the Fierce, Fury 2, and Mighty are relegated to sharing situations, especially with people who have no idea what they're doing. Any new person swayed by the absurd hype around the Mighty would do well to get a $60 V1, a $40 rxg3d and fuck it a ZV2 and a black Drone and still have fifty bucks left over.
I love a VapCap with an induction heater and use both my Pipes Jarhead and Fluxer Deluxe pretty much exclusively. The ritual and efficiency are the areas where vapcaps shine. If you're on a budget or like to stretch your weed out you can't go wrong with any vapcap.
The Lil Bud was my first on demand convection vape and it's a handy unregulated option but the modular Splinter platform and effective XL8R stems are my jam now. I got on the Milaana 3 preorder to have an unregulated option that's compatible with my most effective cooling stems. The enano is also seldom used because it's slow to warm up and has a usable range of 6 to 7.5 on that dial on the cable. If I was an all day medical person I'm sure I'd appreciate logs more.
Last but not least, I'm in batch 4 for the Nomad and hope there's something like the Enano ice stem standardized by the time my number comes up as I doubt the short air path will suit me otherwise.
