Surely... I have a ritual, that depends on how far gone the stems are.
The "shake" technique is easiest with original stems, as they have no cuts in the end...
but even if they have cuts, I can fit the tip of my pinky against it and seal it well enough for the job.
Have ready:
1 long q-tip (like doctor uses or stereo cleaning guys use)
tall pill bottle (for soaking in case you are really gummed up bad)
Bottle of 91% Iso.
Hot water at tap, running and ready.
If VERY bad, I stick the stem bowl side down in the pill bottle of Iso to soak for a bit.
If Normal I just begin...
Finger closing the bowl end, I fill stem with Iso.
I keep the bowl end downward over the sink.
I seal both ends, and shake... never removing thumb from the mouth end, so, I retain Iso in stem.
Every time the bowl area is full of dirty Iso (but continually clearing), I remove finger and let that amount of Iso drop into sink. DO NOT forget that the thumb always stays to keep the tube full of Iso.
Repeat this move until tube is empty, and look into the screen end and see if you want to repeat the procedure. ( Hot water is coming too, so no need to be perfect.)
If you choose, while the tube is full of alcohol (or empty) you can use that qtip to swab the sides.
When done, I always put 1 drop of dish soap in my stem, and fill it with hot water.... shake.... and then rinse well with the running hot water. Stand upright in a safe spot that is padded to dry.
The fact that I always keep all fluid moving in the direction of the bowl keeps the screen immaculate.
I assume that your screens are wedged in place well.
If this is the case this process is easy.
