Alright, alright, so I admit it. I've been stalking vaporizer forums for over a week, and it is decided: I am buying a vaporizer within the next seven days.
The funny thing is, I've ripped a vape
once before. I loved it, but that was about seven months ago, and here I am, about to drop at least $160 on one. Funny thing is, if I remember it correctly, it was an SSV.
I've recently been picking up extra hours at my job on campus (senior at university) and I am due for a fat paycheck next week. Plus I saved the previous one. So I've pretty much narrowed what I'm getting down to the DBV or the SSV. (Unless someone has another suggestion for me.) I want a whip-style vape, obviously, but there's just a couple things that go back and forth in my head:
I really like the heater angle of the SSV, and I also like that it is not hands free. I'm not sure how much I like having to rotate the bowl around the heater, but I guess I'd just get used to it. I also like what I hear about some of the SSV's other features, such as the ease of replacing screens, and having custom glass would be pretty cool. What attracts me to the DBV, however, is obviously the lower price, and its utilitarian looks. I like just the straight-up metal dial, and the way the whole thing looks. I'm not sure if hands free would be my style. I can imagine knocking the thing over by accidentally hooking the whip, or the whip falling out and cracking on a table (Beezleb: read your suggestion about the mouse pad, but it's not something I think I want to worry about.) I figure I wont need hands-free since I'm probably going to want to stir up the herb after each hit anyhow. I've also heard that the SSV is more reliable than the DBV, even if by a margin.
Is it at all a pain in the ass to keep having to hook and unhook the wand from the heater of DBV?
I feel as though hands-free wouldn't be as good for me, since I don't typically smoke a lot in one sitting, thus taking away needing to have the bowl connected all the while. I LOVE ganja, but I'm more the stoner that likes to rock a nice and easy, steady buzz (when I hit my pipe, I go generally between 1-3 hits. I like to be out and about and moving, experiencing the world when I'm high... never liked getting baked and sitting down or watching tv), so probably one solid vapo draw would do me just fine... assuming it's not the weekend
On one hand, I think, "Shit, I can put the money I'd save with buying DBV towards another sack of herb!" and on the other, I think, "If I'm going to spend over a hundred bucks on a vape, I may as well go the extra few yards and get an SSV."
So I guess I'm leaning towards the SSV, but there's still that sliiight bit of doubt that has prevented me from charging this to my credit card tomorrow.
Well there you have it. I'm a loner stoner and I love to be active while I'm baked, so I think the kind of high a vape gives me would be conducive to my style. However, there will never be a replacement for a nice j in the car, and I will always come back to my fucking awesome, beloved first and only spoon-pipe, Jamal, from time to time... not to mention my trusty bong, Bowser.
Happy to be joining your ranks! Thanks for reading my wonderings.
